I want to learn new languages (in recent time German language) but I am not persistent enough and I take long breaks which destroys my learning process. You know some tips which should help me in learning? Maybe u had similar problem and you found a solution? Please give me some advice

Learning a language really takes dedication and time. I find that if you dont enjoy the process you will have a much harder time succeeding

#

Try finding something that interests you, like a hobby, and do something with it in the language you want to learn

#

for example: I recently started liking WW1, so I am attempting to read a WW1 book in german. Im also writing an essay about world war one and am going to try to translate it into German. Its extremely hard for me to do this, but i can easily find easier ways to combine interests and languages.

When I had to learn intensively I used a book and made goals for what I had to complete from it each day (as well as a few other goals outside of the book). By concentrating on that I didn't waste a lot of time deciding what to learn next and instead followed a path laid out by someone who had put maaany hours into writing the book.

For me at least, this reduced the chance that I 'fall off' because I never have a moment where I don't know what I am supposed to be doing

#

And I fully agree with Björk, incorporating your interests into learning is a great, great method, and will also help you learn multiple things at once 😄

Yeah, this is a really powerful approach. It doesn't even have to be a specific to-do list. One thing I've recommended to people before is to have a collection of tasks available that you can pull from as you want. Like have some worksheets, a textbook, some saved videos, some German texts, etc. and when it's study time, pick something and do it. If you don't have to look around for something to do, you won't waste as much time.

I recommend to watch the recording here. It's a presentation we made about how to improve your German studying with various techniques and planning: #1063772702617370724 message

i think it's also helpful to have a reason that you're learning a language and integrate that into your language learning

#

if you're interested in german pop culture, listen to german language music

#

if you're interested in reading a certain book, try to make your way through a couple pages

#

these things won't teach you the language, but they will help and remind you why you're doing it

U should have a reason or goal that motivates u buddy for example i’m learning german for reading scientific domcuments or learning Japanese to consume and understand the media / games that are created by Japanese , however we don’t have the same preference some would leran french i don’t so u need to figure out why would u learn this language ? What benifits except for ur brain u can gain is it work? / media / travel / cultures those little things can mean a lot and always remember its not about how to learn a language its about why cause if u don’t have this motivation u will get no where

thats very true, its so easy to become unmotivated when you don’t have a goal or reason.

You really just have to want to.
I have a absolutely no reason to learn German from a practical standpoint. Before I started learning I just thought the language was cool. Then I set a goal, I wanted to be able to turn on a German video/news channel/movie and be able to understand it. I'm not quite there yet but it drives me to keep going and keep learning

This is a grammar workbook, which I know sounds a bit 'limited' in scope. I ofc was supplementing with native-level reading material and stuff. But I have to say, the book has so many high-quality exercises that, if you actually pay attention to the exercise sentences instead of just filling in the grammar, you can learn a lot of new words and constructions 😂
