are there any apps like Duolingo, but teaches new vocabulary with pictures?

I feel like learning new vocabulary by reading its translation might be the cause of me translating my target language to the language i know

I’ve been using the website Linguno lately to pick up new vocabulary. There are also conjugation exercises and a daily crossword (among a few other features that I personally haven’t tried), but they have word banks for each German level up to C2 that you can use the website to memorize.

but do they use pictures for teaching vocabulary and i mean pictures only

Oh, yes, there are pictures for most of the vocabulary I’ve seen, although they are always accompanied by the word itself, so I’m not quite sure if it’s what you’re looking for.

I could send a picture of an example, if you’d like.

nevermind duolingo, but something like rosetta stone (i guess), where the new word has a picture of what it means above the new word

So you want to translate the German words to your native language, then, rather than the other way around?

no, i mean no text translation at all. Just the german word, and a picture that shows what it means

That may be a little more difficult to find, then. You could try using Anki to just create the flashcards yourself (if that’s what you’re looking for, at least), but if you’re looking for a database of words, there may be some sort of picture dictionary on the internet.
