So I'm from Hungary and strongly considering going to university in Germany. Im specifically looking at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and Freie Universität Berlin both of them for law. However I don't know much about the german system for applying and getting in to these universities. I would basically need help with understanding how the acceptance works, what do I need to focus on.

For law u need German C1 at least
Additionally law is very competitive, the numerus clausus was 1.5 and 1.6 in those two unis the past year
Which means the WORST accepted high school grade average was 1.5 (our grading system goes from 1.0 to 6.0)
You can polish your grade with eg long term (1y+) volunteering service, but even if you have 10 years of such experience it'll lift your grade by 0.1 or at best 0.2 It doesn't mean if you have a 2.0 you have 0 chances to get in, it depends on WHO applies this year. If no one applies, even someone with 4.0 might get in. If 1000 people with 1.0 apply, you have no chance even with 1.2. It's just an "estimate and past experience" thing
There's one university I know of with no NC in law (Jura) - FSU Jena. The passing rate in the first semester is roughly 30%. They give everyone a chance and then heavily filter out

For example in Hungary for law I need a enhanced Grade from History to be able to even apply, that means I need to take a higher difficulty test from history that also counts more

No, there's nothing like that here
If you have a general Abitur (a level, u can check on anabin) u can study whatever you want. Even if you never had physics classes you can go do quantum engineering or something
If ANABIN says your degree is generally valid, which it should be since it's European, it's all good

If it's just about application process, check the websites first bc they'll gave everything in it, else you'll be flamed to death in those forums
