Hi guys,

I traveled to Vietnam on January 29, 2024, and subsequently re-entered Germany on March 5, 2024. However, due to family reasons, I left Germany again on March 31, 2024, and have been in Vietnam since then. I'm now wondering if the six-month period resets once I re-enter Germany. In other words, can I stay in Vietnam for an additional month before returning to Germany?

According to section 12b, The habitual residence in Germany shall not be interrupted by stays abroad for up to six months. For longer stays abroad, it continues if the foreigner has re-entered within the period determined by the immigration authority. As a dual citizen of Czechia and Vietnam, I plan to apply for German citizenship after five years of habitual residence in Germany. Could someone please advise me on the best course of action in my situation?

I’m just extra cautious in case there will be an exit of Germany or Czechia from the EU

germany is a founder itself why would it leave and eastern countries would never leave bc it helped their economies so much
