thats definetley not enough time
up until bamberg gonna take u atleast 4-5 days
Wdym
What do you recommend? I’ve been to basically all the major cities but it’s my gf’s first time and she wants me to pick
19th Vienna 22nd Munich 23 and later undecided
Imo I could extend Vienna longer but I’m a German citizen so it’s a good chance we move here eventually so I wanna show her a variety
uare you a german citizen by heritage?
Yessir
i see
das neue Staatsbürgerschaftsgesetz
so anyways id say vienna is still better than cologn because it near
I love kölndom tho lol
yea im aware of the new laws
its overrated i was there, other than the dom the city is pretty boring and not that wow with nature
Fair, I’ll probably do max a day there
Catch a post Christmas service and then continue to Amsterdam
are you gonna do this tour with car or train?
To save time we’re doing a lot of FlixBus overnight routes
But sometimes ice
that wont be comfy lol flixtrain would be better
True but they don’t run overnight no?
I’m infamously able to sleep anywhere haha so last I did FlixBus it was no problem
im not sure as far as i know train stations operate overnight
Wirklich?
Aber für Weihnacht es ist nicht ja
yes espacially the knotbahnhöfe so the big stations
i forgot how it was last christmas but there is still ice service
they are even busy on sundays
Like basing in Nuremberg and taking train to bamberg and Bayreuth
tbh theres a fair good amount of fast international trains available
Imo Nuremberg is enough to vibe inside the castle walls
Was kind of my least favorite city
yea you can just take regional trains there
But most famous Christmas market so i figure show her it and stay with a cool vibe for Christmas itself
Nürnberg is eh
wien christmas market has to be by far the best
Plus nearby bamberg and stuff aren’t like activity cities you mainly go there for the vibe/ city look which is good if everything is closed
Right?
Bamberg itself is heaven on earth from nature
Yea that’s why I’m considering a bit longer in wien but I’d like her to see more of Germany
Yea I think bamberg is a fantastic stop while everything is closed
Probably go there on Christmas
germany has more big cities than austria haha so ull go faster through austria than germany
Hahah yea but already limited on time
sachsen has an amazing canyon park
I’m thinking spend all of 24 in Nuremberg
Then 25 bamberg
Then maybe going to Bayreuth for a bit on 26 and continuing on to visit Berlin
even germans themselves havent explored the wohle gems of germany😭
Yea it’s hard haha so much to see
Especially cause I personally like to just vibe
I need to take her to some smaller places tho so rothenberg bamberg and Bayreuth are on my list
berlin is better connected from münchen with a sprinter ice that means it doesnt stop and stays on max speed so ull reach in only 4 hours thats pretty fast
south of bayern is also nice
But spending those days based in Munich seems rough
Unless some gems to see nearby while everyone is home for Christmas
no i mean just catching the ice from munich
munich has cool landmarks
yes
True
2 days is a bit short
Hmmmmm
Do I forget the Nuremberg plan and just spend longer in Munich
Berlin is also an option
I know some crazy people who just do one day trips around one city. You need to know your pace and stamina. Are you capable of changing cities daily? Won't you get too tired? Will you really be able to sleep properly on a bus? etc.
I sleep great on busses
But yea I’m trying to not be too crazy
My biggest hang up is where to stay for the 23-26 period
Cause I’m going to Berlin 27-30 30-31 cologne and a quick ride to Amsterdam to spend new years there
Not sure if you're travelling with your girlfriend, what about her?
I am haha she said she’s fine sleeping on a bus
