#Is the Blocked bank account necessary? help pls

Technically yes, but your parents would have to have enough income (like 1000 eur extra every month after expenses) and find a way to prove so in a legit way. In many many 3rd world countries it's unlikely to have a proper work contract or even a bank account giving statements in an 'german acceptable' way. Chances are they'll refuse it because it doesn't 'look legit', or because they have no clue how work contracts are supposed to look in your country
I also haven't heard of a case where this proof of parents income worked out. It's always a blocked bank account
I thought abot it again. The reason why this other option exists, is because of minors who want to study in germany. They might nit have a bank account or cannot legally have one for lots of reasons and you can't get a german bank accunt as a minor without the consent of the parents. But they would be in person in germany, otherwise it would probably get rejected.
So yeah, blocked account it is for you
Then the parent opens a bank account on their name, and the moment they turn 18 it's on their name + own bank account
I know a lot of people who came here as minors and not even those used their parents income
Yes, those kids will eventually need a bank account with the blocked money
is there any alternatives? theres a german embassy in the city im in. do u think they will help with that
No, there are usually no alternatives
And by usually I mean I have never met or heard that anyone was able to avoid it
I mean the other alternatives like Verpflichtungserklärung etc. are pointed out in your screenshot
You can maybe check for study loans or smt
Thought if you had family in Germany you didn't need the blocked acc? Did they change that?
They need to write a letter of commitment if you are already an adult
Oh I'm dumb just saw it at the end lol
Yeah my older cousins are already Nationals with a comfortable income, do you think I should also add the blocked acc just to make sure?
No, if you have someone that sponsors you like that, then don't do the blocked account
Okay thanks 🙏
