Bachelors.

pine fractal
#

What diploma do you have

sudden dove
#

I am in 12th Grade.

pine fractal
#

Check if you have direct entry first

#

So you've not finished school?

sudden dove
#

No, but I will finish the school next year.

And? What does it show you

sudden dove
#

Some information that are making me confused.

pine fractal
#

Alright, which one did you pick?

#

Secondary school leaving certificate - after 12 classes?

sudden dove
#

Second one.

pine fractal
#

Then you must do studienkolleg

#

Or

#

Spend 1 year studying at a university in india

sudden dove
sudden dove
pine fractal
#

It is a prepatory course

#

For people whose diploma ≠ abitur

sudden dove
#

Can you please elaborate? :(

pine fractal
#

So, the diploma you have is not equivalent to germany's secondary school diploma

#

Therefore you cannot be accepted into a university with that diploma

#

The studienkolleg is an extra year that is used to prepare you for the FSP exam, which is equivalent to the abitur

#

Once you pass that exam, you can then ne accepted into a german University

sudden dove
#

Alright. Thanks for this information.

#

So, I have to prepare for studienkolleg exam while staying in India for 1 year, right?

pine fractal
#

No, you either do studienkolleg in germany

#

Or you spend 1 year of university in india

#

The 1 year of university = studienkolleg

sudden dove
#

So, according to you, which option would be better for me?

pine fractal
#

Well, I personally would choose studienkolleg

#

It's less stress, cause with 1 year you have to go through a whole evaluation thing

sudden dove
#

So, can you give more information about studienkolleg, like what is the syllabus, requirement, etc.

pine fractal
#

Syllabus idk

#

Requirements are mostly b2 german

#

Some accept b1

#

And your certificate 🤷‍♀️

sudden dove
#

How hard is it to obtain B2 or B1 skill in German?

pine fractal
#

From nothing?

sudden dove
#

Yup.

pine fractal
#

Well, maybe 2 years or so

#

It could be less

@pine fractal Do you know about FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg?

# pine fractal For people whose diploma ≠ abitur

(Sorry in advance for interrupting your thread forum, S.S.)

Hey imo, just wanna ask if this result of my degree, direct access, is equivalent to Abitur and therefore no need to do it?

[This is unrelated to uni studies but just curious in general about it since in Ausbildung either 2ndary school cert or Abitur is what they ask]

sudden dove
pine fractal
#

Preferably the one in munich

sudden dove
pine fractal
#

You have direct uni access to any course

pine fractal
#

By the time you're done

#

Some ppl will say b2, but you will struggle

sudden dove
tranquil surge
pine fractal
#

I saw you put you've already studied?

#

At uni?

pine fractal
sudden dove
#

So, where to start?

#

Practically, I cannot learn German in one year.

pine fractal
#

I just checked, Philippines ≠ abitur

pine fractal
#

There's the option of a language course before studienkolleg

sudden dove
#

However, suppose if I complete my bachelor's first and during that time I learn dutch and opt for Master's in Germany, then will it be a good choice?

pine fractal
#

That's completely up to you

#

Doing a masters in germany is very common🤷‍♀️

sudden dove
#

Actually, I wanted to do a master's, but one of my friends is behind me and asking me if I can do bachelors in Germany only. breadhatpensivesoitsinthesearch

pine fractal
#

If your german isn't good enough, you can do a lang course

sudden dove
tranquil surge
# pine fractal I just checked, Philippines ≠ abitur

Aha, I see. I was asking about it not due to interest to attending a uni in DE but rather doing an Ausbildung.

That part confuses me if my 4 year bachelor's degree is enough to apply for Ausbildung, since they ask either for secondary school leaving certificate or Abitur equivalent. 😅

pine fractal
#

Germans don't use abitur for ausbilding

#

once you have your 10th grade cert you can do ausbildung

sudden dove
# pine fractal If your german isn't good enough, you can do a lang course

Surely I can, but for that I have to give a good amount of time in learning dutch, meanwhile Indian parents do not like when their children are sitting at home and doing nothing.

So first, I am thinking of pursuing my bachelors from India and during my bachelors, I will give some amount of my time in learning dutch. This way, I can easily learn the language.

pine fractal
#

Since its enough for direct uni access, it should be enough for Ausbildung @tranquil surge , cause ausbildung has lower reqs

tranquil surge
pine fractal
#

I think you need a recognition cert or something not sure

#

From kmk

tranquil surge
pine fractal
#

Yes

tranquil surge
pine fractal
#

If ut says direct entry with no previous uni needed, then it equals to abitur

tranquil surge
pine fractal
#

I think the 1st one

#

Either way, both of them allow certificate evaluation

Cool, thanks for the links!
