#Can you cancel the Private Health Insurance once you receive your residence permit?

Depends on the contract you've signed. Can you cancel it anytime? Maybe with a x month cancelation period?
the question is how will you live if any emrgency happens?
the one i had from allianz was like 30 euros a month and covered even hospital stays
The thing is the MA 35 in Austria forces me to have a private insurance from one list to renew my residence permit...(their list is outdated by 3 years) and most of those from the list cost €200+ per month, (others even €400).
The ones from Allianz that I could get are around €200 per month.
The thing is as soon as my work contract is active, I will be insured by the ÖGK. They need an updated visa/residence card to give the insurance.
@rocky flint it's a very dumb bureaucracy
All in all u need to have an insurance anyways so they'd switch to public as I assumed
hmm i didnt ask if they r a student or not so maybe ur right
^that u live in Austria is important information, I don't know much about insurance regulations in Austria sorry
