learning German outside Education only

Hi, just wondering, do you have to be in education (school or university) to learn german at a high level or is it possible to self teach and use resources such ad this discord server, YouTube, duolingo, etc

I also have like learning books and other stuff. I have family who speak German and I'm wanting to learn to be able to speak to them

Natürlich! Das wird aber teuer, da ich euch das Kaufen von Büchern zum Nachschlagen empfehle. Musik und Filme in deutscher Sprache mit englischen Untertiteln zu konsumieren hilft auch.

Depends how much time you intend to put into it, the more you put in the more you put get out. I currently spend an hour a day on german. 10 minutes speaking, 10 minutes listening, 10 minutes writing and 30 minutes studying new vocabulary.
