for those who use ankidroid: what's the best approach to organizing your cards?

To add more detail I'm wondering if you guys:- put them all into one deck or separate them based on themes/sources of the new words
-put the definitions as german synonyms or translations in your native language
& what are your best approaches to remembering them faster?

I can tell you one thing: do not have the German word come up first - whatever is on the other side (picture, mnemonic, gap-fill sentence, definition, English translation) should be the thing you see first. You're much more likely to remember what "der Schrank" means in English than you are to come up with the German word and its gender when you see a picture of a wardrobe -> it's more effective when you actively have to remember "wardrobe" means "der Schrank". Don't forget to add in the plural for nouns: die Schränke.
