Von meinem Küchenfenster aus kann ich die Berge sehen = I can see the mountains from my kitchen window. Ich fliege von Berlin aus nach München = I'll be flying from Berlin to Munich.

As a side note: for the sentence about flying from Berlin to Munich, you could and probably would drop the "aus" if you lived in Berlin, but if it wasn't obvious, e.g. for a long distance flight, or if you lived in the country, you'd use it.
