We don't/can't, because German copyright laws are draconian. If we did know of a site, we wouldn't be allowed to post it here because of those draconian laws. ;)

I mostly buy my books at abebooks.com (used books) Even if they have to be shipped from the US, they're still less expensive than new books.

bit tangential but does that type of difficulty go for all digital media there? just bc i know people like pirate movies all the time and i imagine theres such a larger market for movie pirating than books, do the websites people use for pirating movies simply not work in germany

Sometimes, a movie appears on youtube, but it usually disappears just as quickly as it's been put up - if it falls under the German copyright laws, that is.

but im guessing those maybe arent as affected since they likely arent legal to begin with instead of doing something something illegal on a legal platform
