It's not just a 'sponsor' it's more like asking for someone to be your personal and 100% insurance. It's called Verpflichtungserklärung, and anyone signing that would be 100% responsible for ANY financial thing showing up. Whether it's you breaking someone's things, stealing a candy bar, wrecking a car, medical bills, rent... It's like you're their child they have to look out for. I don't know how realistic this sounds to you, but tbf I think getting 11k euro is easier than finding someone who signs that paper, no matter where you're from. I wouldn't even sign this paper for my relatives or partner - its like a free ticket to doing whatever you want
Maybe you'll have more luck in lending the missing money from someone (friends? Relatives?) and then work in Germany to pay it off
