I will be living and studying in germany in about a year or so... i heard a rumor and i don't what better place to ask this question other than this server, but some people are saying that someone needs a minimum on 10k$ deposit in bank if they wanna study or even in germany, is that true?

I wanted to do law but it’s too expensive and I mostly want to do Politics/Govt for a career

When you are non eu and you want to learn in Germany. The government want to make sure that you can living so you have to create block account and deposit money about €11000 for apply visa.

actually what course are you applying for . If its a masters or bachelors as a non eu student you will be in need of showing an amount in your account as blocked money that you will be able use in future . but if you are looking for AUSBILDUNG ( namely vocational training prgms ) you dont need any blocked amount . you just language certificate . so it depende
