"die Nacht ist weich"
I found it in some song lyrics, not sure what it means though? from a dictionary I see that it literally means "the night is soft" but this seems like a strange thing to say, so is there possibly another meaning of it? or could it just be poetic?

Germans really like to use Metaphors and other rhetorical figures in their songs, poems, etc. „die Nacht ist weich“ is another example for that, hence it is meant in a poetical way. Now, on the question what the author meant with this phrase I‘m not sure, probably they wanted to describe the feeling the night gives you, like, the soft climate.
