really/extremely welcome vs. welcome
(If your tap is dripping, the plumber will be welcome. If your basement is flooded, the plumber will be really/highly/extremely welcome. Please note you wouldn't usually use this ins speaking to a guest.)
@timid cypress
but it’s still usable to say hochwillkommen to my guest? just out of huge respect etc
Not... really. On the whole, we aren't much into flowery welcoming speeches. Something like "Wie schön, Sie/dich zu sehen!" or "Ich freue mich wirklich sehr, Sie/dich zu sehen" sounds a lot more natural to me. It's what I'd say both to a friend, and to my favourite author if s/he ever came to see me. ;)
