if you go south for enough you might hear s pronounced as sch before other consonants in the middle of a word as well, so that may be it

okay granted it does seem to be that, given the meaning that is indeed supposed to be "Alda was wüst" but i have no idea why on earth there's a ch in place of the s

wüst would be an austrian pronunciation of willst (but then i guess i'd expect Alter to become Oida not Alda, but 🤷)

i have an idea about austrian german, not the worst one, but i have almost no experience with it in daily life so i can't say how common or representative the things i know are of austrians' daily speech
