Is anyone familiar with DIT? Is it a good Uni? what about the city itself?

I've come across DIT on DaaD and they seem to be pretty solid, although im looking for further validation from people who are better experienced with it than me.

I think it is the easiest acceptable university in germany. The town is pretty small and comparing to the bigger cities, it has much less live-student-life. Accredation is good enough for company-application-orinted students. Fee is quite less. Public transportation is pretty bad. If you are looking for nature based town with a river, it would be a good selection. About the courses, it depends on the courses with labs or online parts. Generally it is okey.

So as long as I live near the uni transportation shouldnt be a problem?

Just side note: it's a fachhochschule, not a university. So it's not the first choice if you wanna go for research / phd afterwards

I would like to add on a question: My high school leaving certificate requires that I take a one year prep course, do I have to apply to prep courses and then apply to unis once im done or will a uni automatically transfer me to a prep course?

it's a bit more applied and not focused on research. If you wanna do a phd, you usually want to go to a university, if you wanna go straight to work, then applied unis are just fine

Theoretically not really, in practise yes, it's seen as worth less

that doesn't mean it's a bad choice, it's also usually more guided than universities so if you feel like having to do everything on your own might be too overwhelming it's a great choice
