How to ask how long does it takes to get there (im talking about the travel time from point a to b)

Wie lange hat der fahrt gedauert. (He was asking about the travel time of the vacation I had)

This was the question given to me, but it felt wrong. Now im confuse.

Fahrt as a noun is feminine, so it would have to be 'die Fahrt'.

I thought what wie lange die fahrt dauert meant was about the whole trip or maybe i was lookin for the nach somewhere to make it sound complete. what he intends to asks was about the travel time from point a to b.

"die Fahrt" is usually only used for a whole trip as a short form of "class trip". It's mostly just "travelling time" (by car/train/bus) from A to B. ;)

My cousins family takes nearly two hours to get from Frankfurt to Bingen because they transfer trains so .

"Die Fahrten dauern 80minuten" but "Die Reise Dauert fast 120minuten"

I have to disagree. I mostly see it used to simply refer to the act of travelling by vehicle (motorised or not).

Well... if the other person knows you've travelled from abroad to Germany, and you're here now, they'd just ask "Wie lange hat die Fahrt/Anreise gedauert?"

Ja i remembered this. But what if it is by boat or plane? Should i still use fahren?

For a ship, we'd use "Fahrt", anyway, since it's "mit dem Schiff fahren". For a plane... Wie lange hat der Flug gedauert? if it was by plane only.

But if the whole travel is composed of different vehicles which verb should i use?

You could go with "unterwegs sein": Wie lange warst du/waren Sie unterwegs? (that's very common)
