Hi guys I have a question ( I am from iraq and eanted to do an Ausbildung in Germany with B1 certificate ) but I visited ÖSD institute in my country, they suggested to learn German until I reach B2 from them and rhey will apply for a university for me there
My wuestion was ( somone in Germany told me that there is an organization in Getmany which basically gives you a loan for education, and then when you geta job you pay it off )
I was thinking if thats true, and will it workout for me ?
And That Some Universities will offer accomodations for free, idk ??
Yeah there are credit institutes that help finance your studies. Whether it will work out for you, i have no idea since i got no experience with it myself. One of the more popular ones is KfW Kreditinstitut.
Don't think that's true. Universities have dorms but you still pay rent
do you know how much it is
Depends on the uni and city
Munich or Berlin would be more expensive than a smaller city for example
I lived in a student dorm in Mainz for a while and paid around 260€ for a room in a shared flat. Don't remember the exact figure tho
fair enough
not very expensive
You can look up this info online. Just look up for example TU Berlin Student dorm and u can see the rent the charge on their website
ok thank you very much
Can I get an Arbeiteserlaubnis during my Studienkolleg in HS Kaiserlautern?
I actually have a question related to that:
I need to extend my visa but I don't have enough money to do the blocked account thing. However, I'm working (as a courier). Do you guys know what alternatives I have?
Is there any credit institut that could loan me money and you could recommend me?
is it a part-time or full time job? you could use that to help reach the required amount
part-time. I made the math and I won't be able to reach the amount 😦
when they say at least 18 hours per week for the language learning visa.... is that equivalent to 18 UE
they call it Unterrichtsstunden instead
but it's actually 15 hours....
😂
I need to choose if I want to rent in München vs Berlin and I can't make my mind, I've lived for two months in München and I loved it, the best part is that I am very close to the alps and I love to hike, I try to go every other weekend
Berlin however seems very lively, there are many meetups and various groups of international friends, it seems at least from what I have seen online that it is easier to get to meet people
also, everything is cheaper
does anyone have impressions about both cities?
I am at the point where I can sacrifice some money for the extra feelings 🙂
Hey guys, I do not know if there is someone here that went through the same as me. I am in Germany with a Blue Card, and now I brought my wife to Germany with a family reunification visa. She needs to apply now to a Residence Permit, but I want to apply to my Permanent Residence as well. The thing is that with a Blue Card, she does not have to learn German in order to apply. Do you know if I get the Permanent Residence before she gets the Residence Permit, would I still be able to have the Blue Card Benefits? Like is there some way to keep it?
Wanderst du oft? 😂
joa
when they require your letzte zwei schulzeugnisse do you also include the certificates for your Abschlussprüfungen or not?
because they didn't mention Abschlussprüfungen but the requirements is a mittlere reife
this is for an ausbildung
Your Aufenthaltstitel is your residence permit
Yes i had mine for a while. I am just asking to get the one for my wife so that she doesn’t have to take a language test while I apply for a Permanent Residency
Ah okay I misread your post
Yo guys
I am resubmitting my application to a German university that I was admitted to and enrolled in last year. I unenrolled due to several reasons.
Is it bad to submit the same motivation letter or should I rephrase it? I feel it would appear cringey in both cases
I want your thoughts on this
How much are Handy contracts are usually? Is paying 40 euros for 10gb from Vodafone is normal?
My very basic plan with Aldi talk is 60 a year, but its only 12gb for the whole year
Living in Munich for 2 years and I really don't like it. It is very difficult to meet people and as you already noticed there is a total lack of any sort of meetups/events where you can make new friends. The city is really pretty and near to the alps, but that is about it. Also finding a nice place for living is way too difficult.
Sorry to hear, yeah those are my fears about Munich too, do you study or work there?
I am studying, but in October I will start working in Berlin!
Nice, I hope you will enjoy it more there
Thanks. I hope so too
I‘ll go for a few weeks in Berlin in June and I will make up my mind then, I hope
Best of luck mate
Oh okay. During COVID they had it even for international students
Is a chicken schnitzel like a chicken tender sort of
Does anyone know why smoking is still a "cool thing" that young people in Germany seem to do or tolerate?
No it´s more like a breaded chickensteak. But in Germany you normally eat Schnitzel out of calf or pork.
Actually the numbers of young smokers in Germany going down. Its not that popular anymore
Yeah but that's not really what I'm talking about, even if it's dropping (that's great) I've encountered far, far, far more young Germans and Austrians tolerant of smoking than I have young Americans
I looked for studies on how attractive Germans find smokers but I could only find German news articles that cited studies with samples from elsewhere
So I'm not sure if I'd be able to give you concrete proof of this phenomenon, but I am wondering how it came about that people are, to whatever the extent actually is, tolerant of smokers in Germany
Mhh i dont know. Maybe its connected with the german tradition to drink alcohol. People are more relaxed with "soft" drugs here. But can´t tell you a specific reason
Hmm
Hey everyone. Who knows where I can search for apartments?
Wg-gesucht, Immoscout, just watch out for scammers claiming to be "Airbnb agents"
I've heard German banks take unpaid debts very seriously. Will I encounter trouble as a person with a lot of student debt coming to Germany?
are you from the US? after a certain amount of time your student debt goes away if you permanently settle abroad.
and no from my experience banks dont know/care -- as far as opening a regular bank account you shouldn't have any issues
that sounds really wrong
ok that's great phew
its not but it takes around 20 years or so, your loan payments reach 0 when you're no longer based in the US and are thus forgiven. This of course requires you not to generate any income in the US during this long time period.
and also requires your effective income abroad to be less than 100k, the maximum excluded from a US tax return. If you report 0$ income in the US, your loan payments reach 0$. The statute of limitations will run its course over time and the loan will no longer be collectable.
my economics friend says this sounds incredibly made up, like all of it. do you have any source for this? I would be of course interested if it were true
this has more to due with a loophole in US tax code than economics
If you live outside the country long enough, the statute of limitations on your private loan will lapse. When that happens, you'll no longer be liable to repay those debts. This result is one of the pros of strategic default on student loans.
Sorry for sounding skeptical before (I still am a little) but it seemed too good to be true that "hey do this thing you were already planning on and the biggest worry hanging over your head that would normally stick around for years of blood-sweat-and-tears work will just disappear effortlessly"
that would be so dope holy crap
Well another thing you can do in the interim is report that you are still in education (abroad that is) which exempts you from payments no matter where you live.
wait how long can you claim that after being done with education? cause I am 💀
might do grad school further down the line but just wanna work rn
this involves forsaking your ability to earn any income in the US so it is a huge commitment
o damn like forever?
I know the loans were put on freeze during corona but I believe that's over, its now 6 months after graduation you are exempt from payments
for the foreseeable future until your loans lapse yeah
any income you earn in the US must be reported to the IRS, abroad there is a limit of 100k which can be exempt
damn ok
I might end up at that route one day though, thanks for bringing it to my attention
no problem, I recently found out about it myself and was quite shocked but it seems to check out with various attorneys and other expats
in other countries they'd first not permit the loaner to leave the country in the first place tho... does the US not do this?
Vielen Dank
they did actually extend this through August 31 2022 fwiw
fwiw just a few caveats (which I assume are in the linked article but just for anyone who doesn't click through -- you need to sign up for an income-based repayment plan and stay on it. This is what most people do anyway but you have to actively sign up for that, so keep that in mind. The other thing to know is that after the allotted time period (20-25 years depending which plan you qualify for) they will tax you on your forgiven loan balance. That amount will almost certainly be way less than you'd have paid in student loans over 20-25 years, but you need to be aware of that and plan ahead.
but yeah like most of it is just doing the tax filing that you're legally obligated to be doing anyway and as long as you're not earning money in the states while you live here, it's just following their own rules
it also technically doesn't involve completely forsaking your ability to earn money in the US, but your money in the US will go towards your US taxable income and if that's too high, they'll want you to make payments of more than $0 a month
Thanks!!
the way I figure, I'll pay if they make me, but if their own rules let me not pay, I'm not gonna jump through hoops to pay them more
yea especially if the amount due isn't significant, they aren't chasing down expats who haven't been to the US in years
Does this apply if you're from Africa too?
Well my experience and research revolves around the US since i am a US citizen so no idea
Ok.
I have a question. Any student that will travel to Germany must open a blocked account and transfer £ 10,322 to it and show it as proof. Can I open this blocked account with the banks within my country.
I think yes we all should do it i couldn’t do it in my country too but i opened a account in a deutsch bank and i transferred everything in it
Ummm, yeah, but I actually want to know if this can only be done with a German bank or with banks in my country.
But since you said you couldn't do it in your country, that means it can only be done with German banks
So I guess these German banks can be opened online???
I don’t know but in mt countey Algeria blocked account doesn’t exist
Ues everything is online it’s easy
Oh, ok. Thanks
Hello does anyone know anything about remote work from Austria? Like how are taxes handled ? Also is it highly possible that a germany based company would accept such employee and do this for him?
hey, there is someone who got a scholarship in Germany?
Is there any rule/law about smoking in front of the apartment? there is a guy non stop smoking in front of our apartment I believe he is also tenant here, he goes outside but just in front of the door everyday smoking, it is hot outside so i let windows open but my entire apartment is smelling like ash tray ffs, i am in Hesse
have you tried talking to him? The next step would, to my mind at least, not be the police but rather getting in touch with the Hausverwaltung/Vermieter
they can give you information about the Hausordnung
I told him not to do that directly in front of apartment and please get a little bit far just like 5 steps there is small area like a park, he didn't care at all
The apartment itself is nonsmoking area its written in contract thats why he is doing it outside
Vermieter owns entire building and all the apartments, next step is I am going to mail him yea
**hello **dear community
my sister will be in Freiburg the next week and she still didn't find a **flatshare **( renting a home with others)
she is looking for a " girls only " flatshare and if possible near the city that does not cost much ^_^
and also if there are any kind of apps , websites for this please hit me up
looking forward for your precious answers
there is one called WG Gesucht
Hello!
I plan to go to München for one week in June. If I want to commute by bus, train, or even S-/U-Bahn if available, where can I purchase my tickets?
How much does it costs?
I saw online that tickets can be bought for 100€/person for a week, but I feel like there might be something cheaper than that :x
(Please ping me for the reply!)
@turbid orbit So, there's several options for doing this. What you should do is look at the website:
https://www.mvg.de/tickets-tarife/
There is a special section for visitors. I would say that the CityTourCard looks like a pretty good deal, 6 days for 44€ (one person) plus it has deals on attractions/museums, whatnot. More info on this specific card here:
https://www.mvg.de/dam/jcr:06becd22-743e-490f-aabc-e5b3e3e5317a/CTC-MUE-Flyer.pdf
https://www.yumpu.com/de/document/read/66038414/citytourcard-munchen-guide
you can buy the ticket(s) at a ticket machine or at a service-center for the MVG.
To note: if you are traveling to/from the airport upon arriving and departing, you will need to buy a ticket that extends to this zone. (the zones will be visible on maps/Fahrplan). This is more expensive, so don't get caught with a non-applicable ticket outside your zone or they will try to make you pay a fine.
München is a big city. If you have questions about anything, I would assume that the people at 'Servicestellen' are used to speaking english. Don't be afraid to ask.
umm, why not just buy the 9 euro ticket lol
it is valid from the first of June, you can even buy it now
not sure if it covers S-Bahn but regular city buses are covered
seems to be good for it, only long-distance ICE trains and alike are not covered
do you think that Germany based company would willingly accept someone from Austria for remote?
Hi! I would like to ask if you know or can recommend universities/colleges that offer German Language course for beginners for international students in Germany and/or in Austria. Thank you so much!!
hi. i want to study in germany. but i have some questions. any help would be appreciated
don't ask to ask - just ask :)
well there is a chance that someone will answer your question...low but there is
(Pls correct me if I did any mistakes)
Wdym?
Grammatically + understanding correct :x
ja, das 9€ Ticket ist der beste Deal.
Maybe wrong Channel to discuss Life Problems as a foreigner, but has anybody been having Problems Finding Love? I've dated Few Times, hooked Up with some, but since we speak German i don't really feel an emotional Connection because i don't feel German
Regardless of the Person, any Interactions feels Fake and emotionless, even If my German is pretty good( for a foreigner)
Any clues on how go fix This? Even the Other day a Girl at the Gym came to me and after chit Chat asked for Snapchat but i had to decline because im so tired of trying only to failing at Finding a Connection, it's so mentally and emotonally draining
I ended up with a german who speaks perfect english and we speak english (my native language) 90% of the time, so that worked out. But I feel this very strongly with making friends. It's really difficult to feel like there's always a sort of wall between you and other people because you can't express yourself 'naturally' (the way you would maybe be funny or witty in your mother language). Sadly no advice for fixing it. I end up befriending a lot of foreigners. Maybe that tactic will work for love, too.
so the solution to finding companionship in germany is to play pretend that you are not in germany
my plan is to study ernährungswissenschaft after finisching my Ausbildung as Koch and later become a private Koch and Berater for Sportlers but i really doubt i'll be able to stay in germany without companionship
i've been coping these years by being a stuck in nerd but i miss being social
have you tried joining any clubs? Germany is famous for its clubs. But yeah...unfortunately, if the problem really is stemming from this plate-of-glass feeling of not being able to think/feel in german, your options are limited to getting much better at german or not limiting your companionship to german partners/pals
Hello
I completed my highschool in India wanted to go for bachelor's in Germany and i have A2 geothe certificate. So basically is Studienkolleg mandatory for me and according to what I researched B1 is mandatory for Studienkolleg.
Is this correct
Diff stdkollegs hv diff req
Search according to the one u want to apply to
Most have b2 required
Some with b1
Depends on what curriculum you had in school. If you did something like CBSE then yeah you'd need to do Studienkolleg. But if something like IB or A-Level then no
Hey, does anybody here study at TU Graz? Even better if it's Master Studies. Anyways, I have a few questions. I'm a computer science student from Belgrade, Serbia who will hopefully graduate next year and move to Graz (I have a Bulgarian citizenship, therefore I'm an EU citizen). How do students manage to study while working/work while studying? Is it possible to find a decent job and study for a Master's degree at the same time? What about a job in IT, since I studied for that? Is there anything at TU Graz that can help employed students? How do students in Graz normally manage to pay their rent? Is it better to rent an apartment or to apply for a Studentenheim?
So I don't know about Graz, but generally anywhere you could aim to take up a casual job so that you can fit work around school
I mean, like, is it possible with a full time job. Since my parents won't really be able to contribute financially
Generally, no, because your classes will take time out of a 9-5 position
oof
is there like a study model at some universities where employed students can still get a master's degree in a way? asking because, for example, at my university it's possible (although, it's a private university)
You can still take many hours as a part time and such, but yeah, and it solely depends on your previous education as to whether you can find a "decent" job or (e.g.) near minimum wage
You should ring up the Uni and ask them
yeah, good idea
and what is berufsbegleitendes Studium? I know what it means in German, but what do they mean by it?
Yeah, I'm actually aiming for a junior dev job or something, because I gotta pay rent, food, utilities, etc.
Roughly "work alongside education"
So you can take too many classes that don't steal all of your time so you can get a part time job or something
ohh alright
If you have a bachelor's and a little work experience, you could definitely
Most dev positions are very flexible, where you can work from home, have some weekdays off, etc.
Also, you shouldn't require perfect German for it
currently, the only work experience I have was a 2 week unpaid internship that involved creating a master data management system for an insurance company (yes, that shit is normal in Serbia for some reason), but maybe I could also do something more before I move; also, there are projects that we did for exams, and some extra-curricular project I'm working on with a professor
You should be good without experience, but it always helps to have a thicker CV
German won't really be a problem, but yeah, the IT industry is generally known for that lol
yeah, of course
I've been thinking of doing some freelance work during the summer
so I could rack up work experience and increase my chances of getting a decent job
beautiful place
is it too late to apply to german unis as an undergrad?
for which semester...?
generally speaking the deadline for WiSe2022/23 is in July...but as an international it is better if you start earlier
yes ok i should start
are there any bachelors that dont require a german language certificate to apply?
Like im definitely interested
but i woudlnt have time to get the certificate at this stage
im looking for something that allows to you take german language classes alongside study
ehmmm....very unlikely. There's a few english bachelor programs in germany, I don't know them off the top of my head though. You would have to search via daad or google or something.
Is anyone here now doing Bundesfreiwilligendienst?
hey peeps it’s a bit random but whats there to do around Hamburg Hbf for 2-ish hours (between 2 trains) right now ?
Does anyone knows when are the best / worse moments to buy tickets to Germany?
I mean in terms of price.
are unievrsities in vienna also free?
There are public ones and Private ones
I moved from an EU country to Germany in 2018 and have been working for a couple of years now.
My EU personal ID card has been taken at the airport last time i flied cuz i forgot to change the address in the ID card of my home country so it wasnt valid anymore.
Im without an ID card in Germany atm and wanted to deal with it during summer (i do have Reise pass).
The problem is i found an internship company (Ausbildung) and they told me to bring Sozialversicherungsausweis oder Personalausweis... i kind of feel ashamed to say that i have to make one
Is there a chance for me to make a German ID card coming from an EU country and living since 2018 / working since 2019?
cuz going to my home country for ID will be hard cuz of work atm
Have you tried going to your EU Country's ambassy? (If there's one in Germany) :x
yes i did and they told me they dont make ID cards, only Reise pass
that i would have to go to home country for ID card
for a Croatian ID card that is (its in EU)
Sorry für die dumme Frage, aber muss ich zu meiner Krankenkasse gehen, um einen Sozialversicherungsausweis zu bekommen?
Krankenkasse oder?
hi , any non eu students studying cultural studies / social sciences in Germany? could you pm pls
Hello boys, can someone explain the difference between FHS and Uni for Computer Science? in terms of studying quality and work validation in Germany, also any reviews about International University of applied Science?
Hello Guys! I am from Pakistan Studying BSCS 1st Year, How i get study scolarship for Germany or other European countries without IELTS?
Underground bars? Wie kann man Wien am besten erleben.
An alle Beiträger/innen für jede ihre Empfehlung oder Tipp bin ich sehr dankbar.
What kind of food were you thinking about?
Could I go to Germany to study PoliSci for 4 years? I am currently living in America but have both US and Polish passport
I want to do study abroad
I know sometimes people come only for couple weeks or months but I want to stay 2+ years if I can
if you meet the admission requirements, you can study in Germany.
you need to look up the specific uni and degree program and make sure you check all the boxes, so to speak. Also see uni-assist for info on whether your Hochschulzugangsberechtigung qualifies for admission or whether you need to write extra tests or visit a studienkolleg.
That’s a huge word
You usually get this as soon as you register for a Krankenversicherung. They send it to you by post. It's also called Rentenversicherungsnummer. If you have TK, you can also view this on their app i think if you have an account, otherwise you'd have to get in touch with the Krankenkasse if you can't find it
Ah my bad i just read that you're talking about an Ausweis. I haven't heard of needing one. Usually just the number is enough, but yeah the Krankenkasse should be the right place for it
I would like to work in germany. Does anyone know what this process will be like?
what do you mean exactly? Entering the country or finding a Ausbildungsbetrieb if you don't have an apprenticeship?
Entering the country and finding a Ausbildungsbetrieb
With a visa or residence permit to look for a training place, you can enter Germany for up to six months in order to apply for a training place on site. When you are in Germany, it is best to seek advice from the employment office.
Hi guys, dont know if this is controversial or not but im writing a paper on Germany and coal, and have a question about a photo for people who live in Germany, but doesnt seem like I can send photos here. I dont know if im interpreting the photo correctly so just want to make sure
oi, is my driving licence valid for 6 months from the day i came, or 6 months from the begging of the month i came ?
Kommt drauf an! Privates Krankenkassen bieten keine Sozialversicherungsausweis.
Hey, just got admit in ravensburg University, does anyone have a link of any server or group where this college admit are there?
It would be really helpful
Hallo, Alles..
Can anyone please help me in enrolling in a german University?
Do you need help with the translations?
oh hello
I'm currently living in Düsseldorf, got here with only the passport (90days thingy)
I applied for the students visa (I think it's a residence permit?) like 3 weeks ago, but I haven't been able to get an answer from the Amt
now I'm getting worried because my 90 days end on the 16th
does someone knows if I can wait for it in germany somehow if I get the Termin after the 16th (prob gonna happen i think)?
or if getting out of Schengen zone with some days left out of the 90 and come back here only for the appointment is a valid strategy in my case?
did you call the amt? Don't take my word as legal advice, but usually once you have the termin, you're fine even post-90 days. You can show the termin as proof that you have permission and stay at least until then. At least that's how I always understood it
did you get at least an auto-reply? (assuming you sent in the docs via email??)
@sullen siren I mean, I need to know more about the enrollment process for international students in German Universities
Ok then I am sorry that I can't help you because I am from Austria and don't know much about the system over there
in bachelor? TU München, RWTH Aachen, TU Berlin, some of the more well known ones
But generally speaking in Germany most unis at the bachelor level are pretty equal
Recommendations for universities to get bachelor and masters degree in aeronautics in germany?
yes, not sure about an associate's degree though
you can apply for a higher semester and attempt to transfer your credits, but thats typically done after being accepted and enrolling
can vary depending on uni
Ist es ein gute Idee,an der Bremen Universität BWL oder Winfo zu studieren?
Wie viel wird Geld gebraucht, damit ich in Bremen leben kann?
if you are interested in those topics, then it is fine to study them here 👀
As for how much money you need, that really depends. Will you live in a WG or your own apartment?
@terse stag
Du weißt schon, dass du das einfach mit DeepL übersetzen könntest?
Aber hallö_hierchen kann ja Deutsch, also kann er dir sicher schon auf Deutsch antworten. 😄
Hello here, anyone know of scholarships opportunities for international students first year? Those which are still open in Germany??
Anyone here doing an Ausbildung in Germany ?
sorry bin schlafen gegangen lol.
Is a goethe c1 level sufficient to apply for a German taught masters program?
you have to look up the requirements of your specific uni/program
Anyone know the requirements for an American to move into Germany to work?
@true wind
Thanks
Np
So asking again but I’m soon to start with an Ausbildung financed by the company and not by Arbeitsamt and I haven’t gotten my contract yet , so idk if anyone has experiences and tips I’d appreciate it a lot
My main concern is is there a chance I get bound to the employer for years , as I’m unsure if I’m wanting to stay in this particular town forever
Was bedeutet gern im Zusammenhang einer Stellenanzeige? Dass die in der Personalabteilung auch gern solche erfüllten Voraussetzungen akzeptieren?
Beispiel: "React / React Native Entwickler (w/m/d) - gern Fachinformatiker / Informatiker (w/m/d)"
what would be the best place in germany to meet a slightly chubby goth teen with daddy issue that listens to alt rock and watches anime who is into gym guys?
well in an Ausbildung you are typically bound to the company for a few years, it'll say how long on your contract
Ausbildungsverhältnisse überschreiten eigentlich nie die 3 Jahre. . Bei guten Leistungen kann man auf 2,5 Jahre verkürzen. Du hast keinerlei Verpflichtung vertraglich, nach der Ausbildung bei dem Unternehmen zu bleiben.
You can’t really change when your lessons take place, mine will indeed last three years
And yeah thanks I’ll just have to read the contract once I get one
Gegangen
Can anyone suggest me some universities best for a bachelors degree in science?
Is the medium of instruction English?
Uni Heidelberg is one of the best
Look up the TU9. They're the top 9 technical unis in Germany
MIT is in the united states. so yes 😂
Is there any 'easier to get into' universities?
it depends what you want to study. Many degree programs don't even have an NC
what do you plan on doing?
I prefer aeronautics and mathematics
What could be best for CS
Guys I have a question , when does a university usually reply to you when you send an application
and can I send documents after the deadline
Depends
for german unis
if it is a normal public uni and a bachelor program, there is almost always a date posted on the website or the law for the bundesland
its because of the embassy appointment
here you have to book early
as for documents: that also depends. Some can be handed in later, some have to be sent with the application. If you get in touch with the international office they can help you.
If you grades are not converted to germam grades than first itll take 4-6 weeks to do that after you pay for the application by using uni assist. Than it can take further 1-3 weeks to obtain the zulassung when Uniassist furtjers ur document to the university
I don't think there's usually an NC in math, so you should be fine. But in doubt: look up NC + uni name+Studiengang
they recognise a levels dont they
I read online they need 3.5 A levels
They do accept a levels
I will finish that this session
You need 3 complete A level subjects and 1 (atleast AS) language subject
and apply for the following year 2023
I have done full Maths , Chemistry , Arabic and AS biology
and will do the test daf this november
for engineering not med
do you think its enough
This will be helpful for you.
A atleast 4x4 in TestDAF is a must
thats high i think
Most programms dont have NC, they look for 2 things: a university entrance qualification and a language certificate that allows you tp study for german programs
I am talking about programms in herman language
you suggest test daf or C1 goethe ?
They both have pros and cons
yeah all bachelor is german
I know no english
in germany
Officially in most university sites if not all only Goethe C2 is equivalent for TestDAF4x4
so test daf it is
As far as I know From TU9 only TU Darmstadt accepts Goethe C1 for immediate studies.
but i think I need to do a b2 exam first for the embassy
yeah
You must have the Zulassung aswell
Its one of the documents required
I think
what is that
telc c1 hochschule is another option.
its not available here and the embassy doesnt recognise it
they only do goethe or OSD
for some reason
Thats is the admission letter the uni gives you
used for enrollment
Yeah
and the language proof
yeah
Embassy have the documents that you need at the time of appointment on their website
Must have All of em
ok thanks guys , this helped because I need to book an appointment early
yeah I keep seeing them , they change a lot especially in my country cuz of refugees and immigrants
Ohh
Where Im from it can take upto 4 months to get an appointment
hopefully I will be ready by november
What level of german are u in rn?
B1 , but I am trash in the language
mybe because of exams
but I will study intensively for 3 months now I am finished
Youll apply for summer semester?
yeah
I cant apply with predicted grades
and anyways i dont have the language certificate yet
you can apply to private unis I think , but their ranking are no good plus reputation of them isnt promising and kinda expensive
with predicted grades
Public unis are best
if i´m learning
the present tense at this moment
I mean in A1 level, how long do you think it would take to reach c1 level in German? (I only have 30 minutes to study per day)
years. 3+ if you are only working for 30 minutes a day.
Thks for your answer. May I ask how you know that? Are you also a German language student or you are a native speaker?
I start in Germany at the start of August, I want to go a week or two before to backpack and tour, immersion/tourist junk before I have to start my language classes before University starts up.
If I am frugal, how much would it take staying in Hostels and eating cheaply for about 1-2 weeks?
I mean obviously I cannot know with 100% certainty because I don't know you, how much experience you have with language learning in general, and what you do in those 30 minutes.
but C1 is a pretty advanced level, and 30 minutes a day is relatively little study. Like in itself it isn't sooo little, but if you consider all of the areas you're going to have to improve to hit C1 (beyond just drilling grammar, you have to expand vocabulary pretty wide, do a lot of listening, writing, advanced reading, etc) I think that at some point you will have to do more than 30 minutes of immersion/practice.
my opinion as a C-level German speaker myself.
I have 2 semester of German here in US, so 1 year, and am at A1...Possible to reach B1 level in 1 year of immersion? I have a 6 week intensive language course in Germany before spending 2 semesters at A German University in German, not English...though they are understanding of the language gap that exists.
to reach B1? Yeah most definitely
I would be surprised if you didn't well exceed b1 🙂
That's the goal 😄
Thanks for reply
is there a cheap way to travel between Brandenburg and Berlin weekly/almost daily
For people asking about studying , Würzburg University offers studying in English with B2 German only so prob worth checking out, also not too hard to get in as long as youre quick to apply
I mean 9€ ticket exists, pretty sure you could combine it somehow between those two
what is the process in germany If I got a job offer and I'm not EU citizen ?
Depends, are you in Germany at the moment?
Has anyone applied to German Universities through "Uni-assist" recently? It's already been 5 weeks and still no word from them
Search "I got a job offer and I'm not an EU citizen reddit"
How would I get a diploma supplement for a US-attained degree? The university I applied to requires this and I can't find any information to that for US students.
Lol ofcourse we do, it's called Transcript. Just get a copy of your Univeristy Teanscript and send that
no i mean for next year 😅 isn't the 9 euro ticket only till August?
Oh yeah but I’m sure you can get 365 e/year student deal there
Depends from one country ti another but in most cases you’ll need to make an appointment in German consulate in your country and to bring them a certain letter from your future employer. I can ask what’s the letter / form the employer needs to write called so they can google it and print it out
Hey guys, I'm trying to find a place to live in Aachen and I'll be visiting the city tomorrow, but every apartment that I was supposed to be seeing canceled on me as they already rented it to someone else or something changed :(
Any ideas on how to set up some apartment viewings this short notice? I'm at a loss... fuck
(I speak German in case that's relevant). Any Germans or ex-pats with any input?
Try using an agent (Makler) to help you find something . They can be expensive, but if you have the cash and you're in need of something immediately, it could be a good option.
sorry to hear that, apartment search in a city you don't already live in is rough. If you want visits tomorrow, my bet is on very unlikely. But the best chance would be going to ebay kleinanzeigen and replying to as many as you can.
i've been spamming people for the past few days, i've gotten 5 replies, 4 of them were "flat no longer available, sorry" and one of them asked how long i'm staying which is always bad because i'm not staying for long hah
yeah, i might just end up doing this... ugh
Dankeschön
does anyone here know how many points do students score on average to pass the aufnahmetest for the studienkolleg?
Adding onto others responses, I was able to reach B2 after 8 months of immersion starting from zero, so your goal is definitely achievable
It depends on how much you fully immerse yourself, I purposely avoided speaking mutual languages so much as was feasible during my learning process of German
Oh then I am solid lol....we have 6 weeks of intensive language classes while staying with a host family, and then this semester coming up its 5 classes at University in German on German and culture. Reading, writing, conversation, film etc.....so I think I eill be B1 no problem
Ja, as long as you surround yourself with the language as much as possible, it'd make sense
Any Indians planning to study abroad after 12th CBSE result?
no hablo espanol los sientio
does jacobs unievrsity give full rides?
where are you from?
hallo zussammen
i cant find universities that teach Medicine
I am an edexcel International A Levels student
I have 1 more year in school (A2) unless there are uni that takes AS
Any suggestions?
you mean german universities? Have you used a search engine?
yeah i searched and i found nothing
yeah ik about that but on the website of the uni itself i cant get an answer that satisfies my question
what is the question?
What are the best universities to study medicine in germany for an internationl student
that is my question
i dont see requirments
requirements
do you want to study in english? Or?
and they say public german unis are free or have 300 per year
german
are you in the EU?
no
okay thank youu i'll read it
at rwth aachen they have some info on necessary documents. There you need to do TestAS and score 80% in mathe/naturwissenschaften/Informatik
it is extremely, extremely competitive to study medicine in Germany, even as a german student. I think there's an extra-limited number of places for ausländer.
yeah i know about that good thing i got backups
and thank you once again
i dont even speak german yet
best of luck
there is medicine in rwth?
thanks
yes
okay cant send link
that one?
or is it just an exam for the degree coz it says state exma
Staatsexamen are the things you have to pass to actually become a doctor
u should take 4 full a levels , from which one is a language
alright which means i need that
oh no language doesnt satisfy me
what language do u speak
Mainly Arabic and english studied french a bit german
let me translate that
edexcel or CIE?
edexcel
oh
i was planning to do english cie AS in 11th grade
but couldnt
and it passed now
hm im really screwed
arabic is much easier
whats the code
why would you take Arabic if you want to/plan to study in Germany? Or do I just not understand what A levels are?
its because of the ease
Well in my school they dont offer german language even if im doing it self study coz there is no much request
i would have to go to the british council
ah okay
where do u live
UAE
whats the arabic subject code
hold on wait
i need to do AS arabic first
then AL arabic
im soo screwed
thats o level arabic
no no
oh so its 2 papers only?
yeah lol
o i thought they'd be 3 or 2 each
no its not scientific
okay well that eases the pain a bit
see , much better than other subjects
well i was planning to do English CIE
yeah i took Math Chemistry Biology
and im screwed in biology it was horrible in june 2022
u need only arabic then
yeah
i might make them 5
because lets say i screwed up in chemistry
arabic is required
it is easy dont worry
chemistry screwed me lol
yeah fr it did
in A2
it did me in AS
did u do A2
well good luck lol
if i got AAC or AAB because of chemistry
and arabic an A
and english another A
i can exclude chemistry
it'd be AAAA
english was hard at o level , what do u expect at a level💀
wasnt that hard in o level
i did cie english
maybe because they were expected grades not actual exam
good
might finish 2 AS in oct too
and if u took arabic , dont worry just solve as many pps and keep ur handwriting clear
i will yes
i did it all in jan and got ez A lol
there is no grammar right
nah in jan i was screwed
i got C in p1
and B in chem u1
a little bit only
unit 1 sucks
no
u have plenty of time too
it just sucks
3 hours for AS exam
u need german obviously
yes ik
yes
start from now , dont rush
thats good
no i mean start using what resources
coz duolingo seems stupid tbh
idk there are many good youtube channels
u finished german?
no , I am staying here for a semester after finishing A2
cuz ur certificate wont be even out
and the german exam needs studying
didnt get what u meant
like I will apply not for the semester starting this september
i will apply for the following
oh
cuz edexcel releases results in august
which is after the deadline
stupid edexcel
idk tbh
ah didnt find yet
probably a TU one
TU?
technical university
eh well idk i want med i wanna do surgery so bad dont know why
but i have some sort of a feeling
i wont get into med
so yeah
thats good , but now focus on your A levels cuz they matter
mhm they do
then dont rush yourself into uni , med needs really good german
anyway screw english
i was really happy ending english at o levels , gl for u in a levels🥸
nah 4 papers for english thats deadly
i hate languages anyway
that seems so complicated
can't believe the one time I see a fellow alevels student here and they're arrogant
imma take it as a compliment
Arabic , dont worry its easier
i finished the exam in 1 hour 30 mins then slept
as a backup
5 A levels 💀
yeah mate chemistry fucked me bad
then drop , these subjects are of no need
study arabic and german this sumer
and sit for arabic
in oct
along with that
study a 5th subject
till august 18th
i recommend doing it in jan
if the chemistry turned out to be good
cuz u need to memorize some movies
oh for A2
AS u can defo do in october
4 months till october tho
jan im doing A2
for bio chem math
U4 U4 P3
then June U5 U6 P4 M1
bio chem math
u can add arabic in jan
u5 p4 and m1 needs focusing
and btw if u are bad in identeties move p3 to june
dont fall in my mistake💀
wdym exactly
u5 bio seems fun so dw about bio
m1 i like physics
and screw chemistry
it is because p3 and p4 are so related to eachother , if u dont understand p3 that good p4 might help
do m1 in jan if u like it , but no need to rush too
pps?
yes ik about that
i saw a paper
of
u2 arabic
this looks ugly mate
it isnt what it looks
I am sure translation would be a piece of cake for u
search online , memorize main events and writer name , answer what the question wants
i just need to go over everything again coz first look i couldnt do it very well
well how about the other questions that dont involve movies
I memorized all tragedy movies in the syllabus and did pretty well
all
i wont write about history or شعر tbh
u have the choice
see the syllabus
yeah i cant find the movies
oh
okay yeah i went too far down
choose one topic from those
i need to watch black and white movies
10 movies
to be able to
what
at the end i'd get a single movie
or 2
I found تلخيص online
u chose comedy
for each
no i chose tragedy with the school
type online , u will find everything
i deleted everything sadly
as u like
since u did one
i dont know if comedy is easier
but tragedy was alright , and i noticed u can write a lot on it
well i will read a summary for all 10
i watched all except فيلم الارض
lucky you
u didnt find it?
it's true that the Germans only work in the morning?
huh what
it was a very weird movie , but it was easy overall
this especially is very weird 💀
Lmfao comedy it is
i dont wanna say what happened in the end
im sure my mum
would enjoy wataching with me
and ik they're old
all of them are
yeah they r nice tbh
i might even just be like
i enjoyed them all except one
he killed himself and his wifes dad lol , for stupid reasons
no
Is tuition free for students from Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦?
There is no tuition for public universities in Germany for students from any country
Hello i have a doubt... I wanna send 150 euros to a friend will there be any additional charges (Sparkasse) ?
Transactions inside germany dont have any charges isnt it?
I am a little confused about something , for german uni requirements , in alevels do we have to take 3 subjects minimum and one of them has to be a language type subject?
some websites say we need to some otherwise , if anyone knows for sure let me know
This website has the basic requirements: https://www.daad.de/en/study-and-research-in-germany/plan-your-studies/admission-database/
But a specific uni might have their own requirements so if in doubt, check with the specific uni you want to attend.
It seems that they changed the requirements so that from 2022 onwards, there's a different set of requirements. If that's what you're confused by, then it's point 3. on this page that you should look at: https://www.daad.de/en/study-and-research-in-germany/plan-your-studies/recognition-gce/
but why do points 2 and 3 have different requirements
in point 2 its asking for a language subject but it says its not necessary in point 3
Because there's an old requirement and new requirement. Point 2 is the old one and point 3 is the new one.
but point 2 says 2023/2024 how is that older
It goes until 2023/2024.
so wouldnt that one apply to me since im gonna apply next year?
An admission option based on the regulations that have been in force since the admission date for the winter semester 2017/2018 only exists up to and including the admission date for the winter semester 2023/24.
From the date of admission for the summer semester 2024, new regulations will apply. These new regulations can optionally be applied from the date of admission for the summer semester 2022, provided that this results in a more favourable classification for university admission.
So before 2022 you have the old regulation, 2022-2024 both regulations apply (they just pick the one that's better for you), and 2024-onwards only the new one applies.
so if they pick by themselves what should i do , i have taken computer science as a subject but should i swap it with some language subject to be safe?
No, either one should work.
But if you're unsure, contact someone who is an authority in this area, such as the uni you want to apply to.
alright , thnx
try paypal
instead
it doesn't cost anything to transfer money anyway, inside of the EU (SEPA- transfer)
woah there's such a thing?
you can transfer money from your bank account to another bank account, yes.
oh so paypal dont take charges?
But she has Deutsch bank i have sparkasse will there be any problems? like can i send 150 exact ? Cuz she will need 150 exact
uh....I'm not like a bank teller. But I have never had an issue transferring money to people or businesses via bank transfer. If you are unsure: call your bank or visit the local branch
Today is sunday thats why T_T and maybe you can tell from your experience or smthing?
Ohh
ill check on that
thanks man
well, if she needs it today, it won't be sent anyway. Not by transfer anyway
Yeah takes time to reach other end.
Depends on the bank you're at. The bank your friend's at is not important.
Sparkasse has different plans that charge users differently.
Jeeez
Okay klar
So I spent one year studying computer science in university outside Germany if I wanna apply to uni in Germany to study computer science bachelor will they ask for high gpa or what is minimum gpa should I get so the university accept me ?
I think if the course is non-NC they don't care about gpa as long as you fulfil their minimum language and school certification requirements. Depends on the uni. You could get some of your credits transferred but there's no guarantee of that. Also depends on the uni
what is a good mobile phone plan for a uni student
check carefully with all the unis you conisder what their specific requirements are since they all differ from one another. Contact the uni fro further questions and ask for credits & gpa questions if you are unsure- it´s better to ask them specifially and make sure ahead since there are usually deadlines for application processes and maybe it´s important to you to know which credits will get transferred and what not etc.
shouldn´t be a problem actually
okayyyy thanks a lott

Hello. This may come off as a bit weird but I'm just curious. Suppose (by some miracle) you're accepted to a German uni as an international student. Is it possible to live in Germany just by doing part-time work as an international student? (assuming one can pay for university, so exclude university fees in this scenario)
What I'm really asking here is : with the 20-hour/week working time cap for international students, can one study in Germany solely depending on part-time income excluding university fees?
Yeah. Depending on the city you'd need between 700 and 1000€ per month, as long as u don't spend unnecessarily. And it's relatively easy to get a 20h/week job that pays over 1k a month
That's at least 13€ / h
Ah I see. Would one consider this daring or do many people do this (i.e. have no backup money and depend solely on working part-time)?
Many people do this but most don't exclusively rely on the one job. Many also do another job, but i think that's just to earn more, or get financial aid from the state (BAföG for example).
It's still possible to live off the one job, especially if u already have some money in your account as backup, which you'll need anyway to get your student visa. (around 10k €). This is what I'm doing rn and it's working out fine
That's great, thank you for the insight!
Np
what job do you work?
I plan to do something similar since I only have funds for i year
one year
are you on a scholarship?
can do you have C1+ german (for the job?) Is it possibelt o get a job with lower german skills?
I have an international uni qualification. Which do I choose?
I'm currently a "Werkstudent" in the engineering field. But you can do any other regular job like working as a cashier or in a warehouse (Amazon, LIDL), and still earn enough.
I'm not on a scholarship; and you can get jobs even at a lower German level but it's easier if you're at least B1 or B2. I'm C1 myself.
was ist ein "werkstudent"?
so you think that studetns would have to time to earn anough and study full time? Im woudl be studyign CS. I hope its not too taxing such that I have time to work
its a term describing a uni student who is atleast in third semester of uni (has some knowledge/skills) and is working a job related/somehow related to their degree
they get paid a certain wage and you´re able to gain more work experience through it, you can search online for "werkstudenten jobs" in order to find them
Yeah it's definitely doable. But it also depends on the uni you'll study at and how demanding the course is there. It'll be more demanding at one of the top universities, so in that case you'd have to work on your time and workload management if you wanna earn some money on the side without it affecting your studies
you need to aplly early for them usually since in certain industries they´re really sought after
do you go to a top one?
what are considered the top unis in grmany?
i thought ranking didnt matter in germany
TU9 unis
At least that's what the TU9 members claim 😄
depends on the field and what you study and at which level, but yes, i have never seen a distinction being made at which universities you studied
difference between public/private or university vs applied science yeah
Hi i want to know something plz is it easy to apply on uni assist?
hello
If I marry a german woman can I get the nationality?
CS undergrad. Is uni or TU better for that?
rip didnt apply to any TU9s except TUM
is saarland university good?
you need all the right documents. That's the hardest part.
see uni-assist, daad, or the website of the uni of your choice for details about requirements to study in germany.
there isn't really a huge difference at the undergraduate level between any universities. You'll be fine. Be sure to include thoughts about where you'd actually like to live when choosing 😄
And If I marry a german girl will I get the nationality
again, TU9 is just an interest group of 9 of the oldest technical universities that claim to be super special. Same with U15 and what not.
Saarland has certainly one of the larger CS faculties and there are some Max Planck Institutes and Leibniz institutes located in Saarbrücken
hey! not entirely sure where to put this but i figured i’d shoot my shot here. do any germans here know if american english teachers are accepted at their schools if they have the proper credentials? if no one knows, it’s totally fine!!
that sounds promising 🙂
URGENT
ARE the deadlines in German Time?!!
or your local time?
and is it BY 12am OF the due date, or by 12:59pm ON the due date?
i didnt apply because i couldnt afford the uni assist fees and it seems they all use uni assist
what deadlines?
if it's German deadlines, you can bet they're on German time....
for u anything u wish will happen
I hope so
I didn’t even start lol
Is it late or there is a chance ?
it streamlines the application process but can still take a while to get your results
Which course did you apply?
yo people
does DHL or Deutsche Post works on vacations
not to give post to receive one
OMG I ACCIDENTALLY PUT 4.0 AS MY GPA
BUT IN GERMANY ITS THE OTHER WAY AROUND
WHERE 1 is the best
a.d,fkjasd;lfkjas;lkfj
help wHAT DO I DO?!!
LMAO
call the international office or admissions office
if you're applying, I would assume you have to show the thing from uni-assist anyway, right? And they transfer your grades into german....
Has anyone here applied for an Ausbildung? Is it difficult to get an offer?
I'm studying German just to apply for an Ausbildung
I have the same question
why? Is ausbildung that good? What is it, is it like an internship?
ist ewig her, dass du hier aktiv warst
What Ausbildung do you want to do?
If i was in a contact with a person that tested positive later that day and i call my boss to tell him i wanna stay home at least 3-5 days and see if my test is still negative, do i still get paid for that?
Hallo Leute,
Can I apply to german taught Master's program with B1 level of German ?
no an Ausbildung usually takes 2-4 years to complete. and is an alternative to going to an university to study for x amount of years. Many young people say they want to start working right away so they usually apply at different companies in order to start an Ausbildung there. Typically you start working in a company right after highschool and learn the basics for the job your doing the "Ausbildung" in. If you do well - after completing the 2-4 years of training -the company will offer you a permament job offer or you apply to work at another company. Then you can start earning the usual income you would get for the job & have more responsibilty. f.eg. there´s a wide variety professions that offer Ausbildungen: Banks, insurancecompanies, car repair shops, hairdressers, supermarkets and some office jobs offer Ausbildungen to young people. Some young people do go to university after completion of the Ausbildung to opt for higher positions later and higher income etc. and sometimes their companies offer to pay for their tuition fees if the stay with that company obviously.
It depends on what you´re looking for in an Ausbildung and what you want to achieve
if you´re a fulltime employee they will continue paying you. If you´re on an internship or something ask right away how the situation will get handled by them to make sure ! Atleast in Germany i think but if someone knows for sure please help
ask the profs, call the secretarys office of your uni- it differs a lot
or write an email
well first question no. Second one the offers are online and you need to look for them not the other way around. Then you apply and they will get back to you. Depends on the company, size of the company, your date of application for the Ausbildung !! Look out for the deadlines- usually you need to apply 1 year to 6 months in advance so remember that and time your applications. Also depends on the number of applicants & the location ( a big city, the capital?)
Hello, I actually need to know some information with regards to university/college. I want to study in Austria so I plan to apply for a student visa soon so I can go to the country. Is there any recommendations you know with universities/colleges I can apply to? I want to study archeology.
Got it, thank you
Does anyone know any computer science degree which have preparation year that you can learn German before actually starting the study? I found one which is Hof university. Does someone knows more universities like this?
Hi guys I'm applying to studienkolleg in winter semester and I need to have health insurance , the option I have in mind is the expat insurance in feather , I was wondering if any of you have had it. Also the lady from FU berlin told me it was hard to go back to public insurance if I have a private one , does this apply to expat insurance as well?
If you pass probation period in a german company, do they obliged to inform you that you passed it or after 6 months passed and they didn't said anything is eligible enough
No B2 is usually the minimum requirement
But each uni has their own minimum requirement so you'll have to find out from their website
Iwhat if we just want to do an ausbildung for 1 year? Is it possible ?
I mean...you can start an Ausbildung and quit. But otherwise not really. It's a program that qualifies you to be an X, and it has a set duration. You don't get to decide yourself when you're ausgebildet
the way i cant even read my letter to see if it was a rejection or acceptance xd
ok apparently its like "you will probably be admitted"
they are saying that it depends on your grades, but that usually/this year the NC is pretty generous. Check the link. If your grades are better than the NC from last year, you'll almost definitely get in.
like @chrome mulch said it already, no that´s not possible, there are set rules on how long a certain Ausbildung takes to complete and you sign a contract with the company too, they assign an employee as the person in charge to teach you and help you get settled there for the duration of your Ausbildung and also other people will teach you smaller details on what to look out for f.eg. while working. So in the best scenerio the company cares about you and wants you to settle well into the team etc. Also it won´t make a good impression if it says on your CV that you didn´t complete the Ausbildung for no reason/no important reason.
okay so usually going back to public health insurances is indeed a litlle hard. You should check online for more information on whether it applies to expat insurance as well or not. You can check with some priavte insurances to get more information or maybe some expats have more insights on this specific topic. Also talk to some public health insurance companies too . I´m sure the opinions might differ on this so try to get many opinions to have a better overview
Hi everyone
I'm searching for a language school the offers German language courses for prospective international student, and i really can't find anything that is affordable for me. Any suggestions?
Did you have public insurance before? Otherwise no your private insurance during Studienkolleg won't have an effect on your getting public insurance later
Private insurance is usually your only choice during the Studienkolleg. Afaik you can't get insured with a Public insurance anyway. But once you're a uni student you'll be able to switch to Public.
One possibility is to do most of the course in your home country, like maybe up to B1 , and do the rest in Germany
as a student your future university should offer some german language classes in general and also specifically catering to international students. Look out for it on their website or call the universities administrations office to get further information regarding this issue. This way you don´t need to pay a lot of money also. Most of the language schools I know are indeed expensive like the ones you spoke of.
Maybe your university is also in proximity to other unis so check for that sometimes those other universities offer courses for all the students in one shared place
I'm not sure if they're obliged to mention it, but even if they don't say anything, you'll have effectively passed the probation period as per the work contract
I start in Germany in August, first at a language school for 6 weeks than at University....I want to go early to take advantage of cheaper flights but the Hostels, at least online seem Booked? For the entirety of the month lol....regardless....can someone on a Tourist visa rent a monthly AirBnB or room from someone legally?
Or are there some Hostels that have a rate for longer stays?
Does anyone know what the average enrolment deadline is in germany? As in from the time you get the admission letter, you have to enrol within a specific period. Is it many weeks or just a couple?
often quite short
though not always extremely strictly enforced. If you are concerned about missing the deadline, you can call the admissions office or international office and explain the situation, ask which documents are the most important and which can be handed in a bit later, etc etc
does anyone know what is considered economic activity by the german visa website? I'm curious if non-paid work would count.
what non-paid work? In what sense would it be economic ?
depends on whether there is an NC for your study program or not so you might be able to enrol already. You don´t wanna miss the period for enrolling so check regularly on your unis website
doesn´t sound like to me

Guys is gmat compulsory for Indian students who wanna do MBA in germany
Hey guys i have quick question, so i just got my fsp zeugnis, planning to apply to couple direct unis. I remember i got charged 70 or sth euro to get my Sekundarschules Zeugnis checked (last time i applied to tu clausthal to get acces to stk). Do i still have to pay that for most unis now with me having fsp zeugnis?
most business schools in Germany require GMAT
if u look it up there are lists of unis that dont have this prerequisite
do i have to pay for erasmus visa, i thought visa for education was free
Is it optional to do gre or gmat?
any one knows any unis that accept a conditional language certificate (TDN 3 / DSH 1) so i can start learning this semseter and do my tdn 4 or dsh 3 meanwhilee
so apparently for my education system there's two ways that my certs can be assessed... but I only fulfil the current one that's only applicable till 2023/2024 and not the new one
will the unis assess mine according to the one that I fulfil or will this situation disadvantage me?
I know I'm being paranoid here but hhh germans are very very specific
Well, as long as you apply before the winter semester 22/23 inclusive it should be fine, right
I think so.
i've never been in Germany. My dad has been living in germany for 2 years. And i am going to start living there in 20 days.Actually i dont know anything about German language. Hello. I have a question regarding city registration in germany.
I have a job starting from the 1st of august in Germany, and I must find a place to live in the city this job takes place. I found a room for 2 months in this city, but the guy in there said i cannot recieve the wohnungsgeberbestätigung since its only a "zwischenmiete", which means I cannot register in the city with that address. If i decided to rent this place first, will i have problems when i register in my second place? is renting there illegal if i am not already registered? What i could gather from the internet is that if i am going to live somewhere for less than 3 months, it is not necessary to register in the city. However i do not understand if that works for people that are not already registered somewhere else within germany too.
I understand that it can be really scary, but it should be alright. You're not alone in this situation. Many have gone through the same experience and it ended up going well, even if it was difficult at the beginning. I've seen people talk about it before. Unfortunately I can't answer your questions but i can point u out to a bunch of threads discussing this: https://www.google.com/search?q=reddit+first+time+Germany+school
how do i read this
does the first one mean 1,0 - 1,6 for winter semester
actually im not even sure how to read the nc werte
Ignore me lol
You should call the Rathaus and ask. Since you're going to work there I wouldn't just wait and see
sounds kinda sketchy...I've lived places with Zwischenmiete and was still able to get the proper forms/register the address. Did you make sure that the person renting out the room is doing it legally? // did you talk directly to the person who owns the room?
I would imagine it would be hard coming into Germany, dealing with all of that bureaucracy, without the registered address.
I have absolutely no idea where to start with this, like which office in Germany to email about my interest in working with them or what to even write to them
Is your question: who do I ask in the company if I want to do an internship with them?
yes
On the link you sent there is a list of emails per city to apply
You don't need the exact name, if they don't give it you just adress them with "Dear Sir or Madam, "
