I don't quite understand what you're asking. Afaik a booster vaccine is not necessary to enter germany? Makes no sense to me but I'd have to look it up to see if it's a thing. Also a booster dose works best 4-6 months after the first set of doses so if I were you I'd wait 4 months before boosting (unless you've already done it. Should not cause any problems in any case)

Well I'm studying in Top TU Uni here in Germany and a course similar to that... from what i have seen till now is that if u are from Top university you get opportunities and in the field of business that's what matter "Opportunities"
Are u studying for free
yeah
Are u studying in English
yes i'm
Hello
Can I get to a German university with my homeschool international certificate? If so, can I study computer science there?
Hey guys, can someone help me?
I'm searching for a Uni and need some tips
this is the accepted high school certificates for university entry:
https://anabin.kmk.org/no_cache/filter/schulabschluesse-mit-hochschulzugang.html
Thank you so much
you are more likely ot get an answer to your questions if you just post your questions :)
I got accepted in a private Uni last fall but bec of VISA issues and delays, I got deffered to the next fall.
To not waste this time till next fall, I got into a Uni in my country.
The public Unis in Ger to accept me, they are asking for the High school diploma and the transcript of the first year, I will get them next July
My qualifications now B1 Ger and C1 English
So, what do you think, attend the Private? or find a Public
The Private will ask for 27,000£ after my degree and I'm paying 4000£ tuitions and 8000£ Accommodation per year
If you recommend the public, can you please recommend someone with high acceptance rate? at least to make sure that I will be accepted if the others didn't?
I'm trying to have a B2 Ger on March but its a little hard
for non-NC courses, isn't "acceptance rate" moot? 🤔 either you meet the requirements, and get in, or you don't...
I will study Computer Science, I think it's not an NC course
so then any public uni would work as long as you meet the requirements, no? 🤷♂️
I think so but I'm alittle confused
Hey can anyone help me with understanding the steps into moving into germany? What is required how long does it take, to work too
Hallo darf jemand Beispiele Sätzen über ihr Erfahrung über Auswanderung und ihr Meinung dazu
Anyone here who is doing bachelors in Germany? Or if you have a friend studying there, please tag them. I need sone help regarding application procedure of studienkolleg and language course.
And please ask the actual question, you’re more likely to get help that way :)
Ok thanks mikey
What are the ways I can boost my cv so that I am accepted in an english-taught master's program in German public uni?
Have you looked at what the admissions criteria are for the course you’re interested in?
Because those usually list out really clearly what you need to get admitted…
I have 12 years of education, in order to get into bachelors degree in Germany I need to do one year preparatory course(studienkolleg), and in order to get into studienkolleg I need to have at least b1 or b2 German level. I would like to study German in Germany but not in my home country. So where do I apply first? In a university or a German language course or studienkolleg?
Is there any one website where I can find a list of universities and their requirements?
Hi
Can u guys help me by giving me informations about studying in germany after being a bachelor. I really need help . Thanks ❤️
Hello guys any business administration students from Germany
Please i need you in something
Hallo. I am currently a high school student in India (in grade 10, age 15) who wants to go to Germany for undergrad. I am currently looking into the Anabin Database for qualification requirements (https://anabin.kmk.org/no_cache/filter/schulabschluesse-mit-hochschulzugang.html#land_gewaehlt).
I put my country in the database and it says something about Feststellungsprüfung/Studienkolleg and also Direkter Zugang. Could anyone explain what these are if possible, I am a little lost.
I was under the impression it could be one or the other, why are both listed?
Looks to me like you can apply for Studienkolleg on the basis of your high school diploma, or directly to a university if you’ve done one year of university?
I see. Another question. What kind of stuff is taught in the Studienkolleg? Also, why would someone do one year of uni and then move, that sounds like a lot of hassle
If i want to stay in germany and do an internship while i reach a C1 for my master, do i need certain requirements like german bank account, visas or else? i searched around but things are kinda confusing and i'm a bit lost
Depends how long the internship is, in my experience they usually aren't long enough for the ABH to grant you a visa. But if you're already in the country i would just contact your local ABH.
My impression is that if you want to get paid you need a German bank account
Around 1 year (or more), i don't live there yet but i'm a bit planning in advance for next year
Depends on how much will it take me to get C1 😅 or if i find something good enough to not study anymore 😂
hi
Contact HR of the company that hired you
I finished it but maybe I can help
Hallo!!! Does anyone here have information about living in Germany in order to learn German?
I'm a mechanical engineering student here, in Barcelona, and I would like to do a credits conversion to a German university for the next semester in order to continue and finish my bachelor of science there, so I would like to be working there between the 19th of January and the beginning of April in order to have a proper German level while I wait for the second semester to start.
if you're an EU citizen i should think there's not many issues
There's one, I don't have a proper German level.
I thought about working as an event host because of the native Spanish level and B2 English level, but I don't know if much legal Jobs are offered for students without a proper German level.
jobs*
what's your current german level?
So if anyone knows about some place on the internet where someone might have written about this, or if someone knows about some place, organisation, or institution that could give information about it, I would be very grateful.
In Rhine-Waal, if I'm not wrong, there's a mechanical engineer bachelor of science in English.
But I would like to speak proper German, and move there in January.
Before studying there at the beginning of April.
Yes, I'm doing it. But I wondered if anyone has moved to the country in order to learn the language so he/she could share the experience in case it wasn't much of a bother.
Yes! It's victor_g_p_1
Thanks very much!!!
Thank you* very much!!!
@vivid sorrel so what would you like to know about Germany?
Download the DB Navigator app, you can find it in Apple or Android phone
This app you can take online tickets for trains buses and trams
yea... well im preparing for the trip.... im going to study german for 6 months .... i was just wondering around for some adivces... tips....
like the electrical outlets adaptors.... and stuff like that
You can go to the DB place and take a monthly ticket, which would be cheaper
This is the outlet
yes i already bought the adaptors for that
So anything thats like a two plug thing would work
Not every single city has good tap water, i recommend doing your research about that or asking the place you are living in if the tap water is drinkable
The law in Germany for loudness is usually 10 pm till 6 am you cant be loud, only few places is allowed like bars and clubs but only in certain locations
But generally if ur living in an apartment or student dorm, u cant be loud between those hours
I think in Berlin many shops are open till night, but generally speaking, majority of places in Germany close shops at night time, like 6-7 pm, except some restaurants
Public transport such as regional trams and buses stop at midnight, while the buses usually go up to 12:30 am to 1 am
Saturday and Sunday are the weekends in Germany, Sundays everything is closed like the supermarkets and shops. So do your grocery shopping before then
@vivid sorrel anything you have in mind?
Im just saying random stuff btw
thanks for all that... its very useful... i'm just trying to gather as much information as i can to be prepare for this trip...
I’ve lived in Germany for some years now, so I got some good information
If this is your first time in Germany and/or your first time learning the language and don’t have German language experience
I would say that try to keep an open mind, respect their culture and try your best to speak German, and you will usually not have a bad experience with someone
I have lived many years in Germany and haven’t had a bad experience here so far
awesome... yes its my first time in germany... and im just A1 level with german... so basically no expierence at all...
I would say, learn how to read the German words for: laundry, ordering food, buying bus/train tickets. Like the general stuff
Cause everything is in German
May I ask, what country you are from?
sure... Colombia
So you speak Spanish
yes ofcourse...
I’m sure you will find some people who speak Spanish there
It does get cold during Winter and Spring
Not sure exactly what day you are going
i'll be arriving on march... hows the weather on that month
It should be getting better
but what are we talking about.. like 10°C ???
Yeah i guess so
German summer highest is around 30s C
Spring time is like 10-20 C i guess?
It does rain a lot
In a lot of Germans, they are not actively social. It takes time for them to be friendly to you
So don’t take offense the first few weeks you are there
But generally Berlin got many internationals so you should be fine
yes i've heard about that.. a lot... also that they usually like to stare at people?? is that true?
What language school you going to?
Yeah but that’s just normal. Not something you should be scared of or worried
I dont even notice it anymore to be honest
Germans are honest and straight to the point, they dont beat around the bushes or do that fake small talk
bws-germanlingua
I have heard about them
i guess thats good
Germany does have a lot of festivals
does it rains a lot in berlin?
Yeah i would say it rains a lot
But not 100% sure about Spring and Summer there though
As you know, with the climate change, things change 😅
Oh yeah!
You do need to download the German app for the covid thing
You can download either Covipass or Luca
I think they are only German region apps so you gotta change your phone region
are those like some kind of vaccine certificates?
Yeah
That you took the vaccine
They will ask you when u go to the supermarket or shop or restaurant
U gotta show that ur vaccinated
thats a good one...
Hmm what else
what cellphone carrier would you recommend?
It all depends on your location
In Germany they got T-Mobile, O2, Vodafone, 1&1 and other ones
It all depends on your location
T-Mobile I would say is the most expensive one I guess
From the deals they offer
I currently use Vodafone only cause the current moment where im at, the signal is super good
yes ive heard good things about vodafone....
When I was in Bremen, I used O2 and then Vodafone
But again, it all depends on ur location in the city
When you go to the cellphone stores say exactly ur location and tell them to check how the signal is there
Of course they’ll say oh the signal is good dont worry
But you can personally check online btw
Dont get screwed over from their lies
To me personally and im not trying to tell you to go get them, but to me personally I like Vodafone
I think their customer service is really good
yes ive heard that always about vodafone
And in many stores you can actually try their wifi for free
Vodafone does have many good cheap offers
i've heard too that credit cards are not used too often?? the payment method is more cash than credit cards??
In many long distance trains, there is wifi in the train, if u ever need to use it
Majority of places prefer cash than cards yes
Always carry cash and card with you
are there any regulations for vaping?? electronic cigarretes???
I apologize, I don’t smoke so I don’t know that
I know that outdoors it is fine but you cant smoke indoors
You will see many people smoking while walking or something btw
All outdoors
You cant smoke indoors
ok
what about banks... i'll need to open an account...
Depending on where u are
You got
Sparkasse, Deutsch Bank, Volksbank
Many more
I think you’ll find more of Sparkasse
Like ATM’s i mean
I suggest seeing the place ur school is and where u living
What atm’s are close to u
good to know... thats important having in mind cash is preferred..
yes thats a good idea...
I think Sparkasse would be good
But again depends whats next to you
I personally have Deutsch Bank
ill investigate about sparkasse... this is a hard question.. i dont know what do you do for living... do you know how is the employment market for architects... construction... that area..
Well ur going there as a student
So u cant work
Unless u do a job that pays less than like 200 euros
Like a waiter or something
But there are many opportunities for ur line of work actually
Probably more in Hamburg
yes during mi language course i wont be able to work "legally" but when ill be studyin at the univesity ill be able to work half time... legally
Not sure in Berlin, but i know more opportunities are in Hamburg
good to know...
Your language school can actually help you with that
When you are there, talk to them face to face
will do..
Also
You can do tandem
Tandem is when one person, like you wants to learn german and another person wants to learn spanish, u guys can meet and help each other
Tandem is a big thing in Germany
Your language school can help you with that too if you ask them
that sounds awesome... didnt know about that..
You basically put a note in a wall at school or send an email saying hi my name is ___ and i speak spanish and i want to learn german
Like that
cool
Then someone replies to u saying hi im interested in learning Spanish and im german so i can teach u german while u teach me spanish
😄
sounds good... maybe ill try it out....
Yeah
and what about ... getting a job but illegally (for instance like in the USA)... is that hard in germany... do police do raids and stuff like that???
I honestly don’t know about that
But im pretty sure u will have a hard time finding a job illegally
Since Germans are kinda strict on rules
Except with public transports like trains and trams and buses, they are ALWAYS late or delayed 🙄
yes... i imagine its hard... becuase of they culture with rules and laws... i get that... its actually kind of nice that part...
but ill definitely need a job some how...
how much does its cost a beer?? 😆 ... important subject...
Beer is cheap there 😅
As low as 1 euro, maybe even lower 😅
In Germany they recycle a lot and you can actually recycle the bottles like the glass bottle or plastic bottle and get some money back
So don’t throw away the bottles, you can return them and get money back
I know there is a plastic bottle that’s like 1.2 euros or something and when you return it, they give u like 40-50 cents
So basically you just only paid 60 cents for a bottle
It's called Pfand
that sounds good
For people living in Germany
If I want to cancel the electricity contract (if I'm moving out) and the period of contract hasn't ended (I just took, been like 2 months), can I still cancel?
Does anyone have any recommendations for temporary apartment websites in Germany that provide confirmation of residency?
I see that Airbnb no longer does this
I’ve been looking at wunderflats but I’ve heard some bad things about it
Do you have experience with it?
Not yet, still couldn't move to Germany 😄
Any Turkish medical doctors here, please contact me if you are planning to go to the Germany with Sprachkurs Visium 30f or 44f...
i've used it, it's good. you'll need the confirmation of residency from the landlord directly and you'll have a reduced choice of apartments if you don't speak german, but you can probably find something :)
Guys anyone know a good language school in Berlin?
I’ve heard good things about the Goethe Institut
Compared to Wunderflats there’s a ton of stuff on here, wow
Not so many now that I’ve put on filters
But that’s okay
In my country (Peru) their prices are very expensive, Im just learning by myself and taking the exam from there
It is quite expensive tbh
That’s what I am doing as well
hey guys.. quick question.. i know in germany is not custom to use to much the credit cards... but wich one is the most accepted in germany... VISA / MASTERCARD OR AMERICAN EXPRESS?
I think VISA and MasterCard are accepted virtually everywhere that takes cards, don’t know about American Express
good thanks
Cash should still be your go to though from what I hear
yes i've heard the same..
I personally prefer cash anyway so I don’t imagine it’ll be a problem for me
yes i agree... i'm thiking just for emergencies...
Hello
I have started applying to jobs in Germany ( I am a Biologist) just wondering compared to questions that are typically asked in the US what questions can I expect during my interview with this German Biotech company.
Is the health insurance that you pay from your income the same as the one your employer pays for you? Or do you only need to pay for health insurance if your employer doesn't?
always good to plan
Anyone who stays in Saarland?
iam a student who wants to study in germany
i wanna know where can i stay for cheap
until i complete my studiess
Hi
Can u guys help me by giving me informations about studying in germany after being a bachelor. I really need help . Thanks
What specifically do you need to know?
where can i study computer engineering in germany?
like names of universities and colleges
thanks so much
I received some health insurance papers today and apparently, I subscribed to the health insurance via Fintiba on the start of October but I arrived in Germany in December, can I make the case that I don't need to pay for the first two months because I wasn't here
?
Like I didn't need the insurance
How is technische hochschule Ingolstadt in general?
I have an issue and I called a consulate but I don't understand what they told me.
So I visited my girlfriend last year on July 10, and stayed for 21 days.
I came back to visit her last year on Novemeber 11 and am currently still here.
I still have 15 days left of my 90 day limit, for a 180 day period.
The 180 day period would be reached in 5 days on January 10.
That would mean I would only have used 80 of my 90 days in the 180 day period.
Would the 180 day period reset and I could stay longer with a new 90 day limit, or would I have to leave in 15 days and then come back, and if I have to leave, how long do I have to wait before I can come see her again?
(Edit: the days might be off a little bit because of how many days are in each month ect.)
From my experience, most places accept visa but some prefer master card and not visa, but ATMs almost always accept anything and yes cash is best to have
Good to know... Thanks
Hi so today I had my visa appointment and I got accepted, but something weird happened. I didn’t get my passport back, is it normal? Am I getting it mailed with my visa?
it is weird... they didnt told you anything else?
Hallo! Ich suche ein Zimmer im Berlin! Hey guys I'm planing to move to Berlin on March this year, if you have any information that could help me find a cheap room it would be very welcome...
i need passport mine is expired
Well I sent an email to ask if it’s just part of the process or see if it was indeed an accident
https://www.wg-gesucht.de/ is good :)
I read somewhere, just for a glance, that they have our passport for a moment
This applies to all schengen countries)
you have to leave the country for the visa-free period to "recharge" so to speak, think it might be 6 months but not sure about that.
And you're sure about this? Because that would be terrible if I had to wait another 6 months...apparently its a rolling period and it should count backwards? If I understand correctly what someone else explained, then based on my last visit and this visit, I should be fine to visit again since the last 180 days would only have about 55 days used, even though my 180 days technically started 6 months ago, the timeslot would apparently move. Idk
DeutschAkademie is good.
It's hard trying to find info on this but you gave me an idea to search for, and it says this
I guess it's confusing since I seem to get different answers everywhere...
Ohh i see, so I guess I should not worry too much about it
Thanks bro
what's the minimum language requirement for applying for an ausbilding?
Should I be registered in the city before taking an appointment to get a residence permit?

I don't understand why did they refuse my appointment
the email says they couldn't match the data you provided and suggest maybe you spelled first name / last name wrong or put in the wrong birthdate. you can email ordnungsamt@luebeck.de with your first name, last name, date of birth, and ideally a copy of your passport or residence permit
B1 - B2 depending on what you're taking. I'm planning to do Gastronomy and that requires B1
do you have an abitur equivalent
Hello everyone, I'm going for Erasmus exchange and I've chosen Germany as a destination. The cities that I've chosen are: Leipzig, Passau, Köln, Mainz, Hildesheim, Saarlandes, *Graz (Österreich xd)
Any opinions about each city? I'm going to to Translation & Interpretation, so I'm looking for a place where I can improve my German and my accent. I'm not looking for an expensive place as well, so if you know anything I would appreciate it
Did you receive a scholarship to Cover your costs
Whats your accommodation status
For my Erasmus in Germany we, the exchange Students had fixed place to stay
I just applied for it, depending on my chances they will accept me in one of these destinations, hopefully in Leipzig. As far as I know they won't cover much, but I don't prefer more than 300€/month for WG-Zimmer regardless of the other costs of living
Then Start looking for one rn
But it was an urgent question🙄
To know which city is better so I can give it priority
Not entirely sure where to put this exactly, so I'll just put this here.
The longest running online language learning service in the US (I think) [OSU'S German Online Program] will be permanently closing on May 15th of this year. This course has been operating for 35 years serving thousands of US high school students. No details (as far as I have been aware) have been posted for this imminent closure, however if one to posit it may have been due to understaffing and/or money troubles. It started initially as a satellite program in classrooms, however it eventually turned into a paid online program. They recently finished redoing all of German 1 into a modernized form, and were starting on German 2.
As a taker of this course (only German II, wow) I can say with confidence that German Online is an excellently designed course and I am very sad to see it go. The staff have been very helpful and respectful to me personally in aiding whatever questions I might have had. (A lot, it turns out.) They are apparently hosting a celebration event at the end of the school year, to commemorate the ending of the program.
haahaaaA'
hey guys does anybody have an idea about the type of field is in demand of in the state of north rhine-westphalia Germany?
hello anyone knows a website to look for a WG in germany? i'm planning to study in germany this year and i wanna know how much the WG will cost and is there any alternative place to live which is more affordable than WG ?

Hi! May anyone help me explain where and how do I apply to Freie Universität Berlin? I looked for information but I didn't understand quite well. Thank you in advance
probably uni assist?
hey guys , so i have been doing my higher studies in science field for 2 years and i decided to change my career paths. so i applied for a bachelor in business analytics and got addmission from few unis in germany. however i can only apply for my visa in august since im going for the winter semester, the question i have is, will i get my student visa rejected due to "inconsistant choice of studies" ? i do have all the other requriements including the languages.. just that im changing my study paths.
Hello guys does anyone here have any ideas about how good studying at the university of leuphana
You might want to look at the reviews on 'studycheck.de'.
I did it’s ranked 900 something in the world rankings 😭
M searching for universities in Germany with English taught programs if u can help me
Bad reviews
Hahahah
The teachers barely speak English
What do you wanna study?
Bachelor of business administration
Have you checked DAAD already? I assume you have.
Well, English only taught courses are few, and I'm not sure how good they are, tbh.
I think every university has a Facebook group, you could have a word with some of the students, I'm sure they'll help answer your questions.
Ok thank u sm i have another question how long it took from someone to have a c1 o b2 level of german language
No problem :) It really depends on how much work you put in, I'm also a beginner so that's all I can say, but I have seen people pass the B2 test in 7 or 8 months.
Ohhhh okay
I think knowing another language could help too.
Ik
Where are you from if I may ask?
Morocco
Cool.
M actually currently studying in the first ranked institute in my country
But it’s just m not satisfied with it
So it’s recommended for me to continue my licence(bachelor) then go to Germany but don’t u think that it’s will be hard for me
In what sense?
Since our system education follow the french one
Have you checked Anabin?
What is that
Ah, ok. It's a data base to see if your Bachelor's will be recognized in Germany.
I guess it’s since my school is ranked the first in francophone africa programs
Never hurts to double-check.
most of the people that I've spoken to said the Ranking of the university don't really matter as long as you figure out whether it's a hochschule or university suits u better..
I did an exchange program there it's a good school, modern facilities, friendly professors, Lüneburg is a beautiful town. Global rankings don't really matter imo, all German unis are of similar quality.
hello, is there anyone who's gonna study and go to Germany this year for Studienkolleg (especially T-Kurs)? if so, please dm me just to chat about it hehe thanks a lot!
Does anyone know what the law is for bluecard holders with a remote job who want to work from outside of EU? Is there a procedure I have to go through or does my location not matter as long as I have an EU address?
Actually i have read some overviews about it and there were really bad
Anyone going to Munich for summer semester or anyone who already lives there???
well everyone's experience differs, im happy to answer any specific questions about the uni. I was a translator at a research institute there as well.
the most well-known program there is sustainability among other environmental stuff, so perhaps the other departments aren't as good.
but again the quality of the education is largely the same across German universities, its better to narrow it down by a specific program than just the school
Hi, how hard is it to get into University of Munich and Technical University of Munich?
depeds on the course and whether it's NC...
Probably going with Biologie, also what is NC?
https://www.reddit.com/r/germany/wiki/studying try the reddit/germany FAQ
I was told a 5 year gap from grade 12 would cause rejection from universities in Germany is it true
I was planning to do IELTS test and apply
Numerous Clauses, I am also trying to get into TUM :D
How do you differentiate Hochschule and Universitat?
will you be doing your bachelors or masters btw?
Doing my research, really don`t know
Like someone told me if i want free tuition fee i have to complete some part of my degree in Vietnam first
or, even finished bachelors and study master in Germany
hmm? no I dont think so. Even the bachelors program is free tuition, except in some private universities where they charge tuition regardless if u do your MSc or BSc
But most bachelors programs require at least B1 or B2 level German proficiency, except a few with A2 level (at TUM)
Do we need to take like
Thinking of a way to translating this term
hmm
Foundation/Prep Course before officially be eligable for the Bachelors program?
Yes its called Studienkolleg, but if you fulfill the requirements of the program, you can directly enroll in the Bachelors program without spending a year at studienkolleg
Also, I think you need B2 level German to even enroll at studienkolleg
Studienkolleg gonna be expensive huh
Can you explain more on how you can directly enroll?
Sure, it depends on which program you want to enroll yourself in, and then at which University. I suggest you check out the DAAD website for the programs available at Germany
I can DM you in detail, if you want
Please do, thanks a lot
Me 2 plz
Hi there, is anyone writing Aufnahmeprüfung for Studienkolleg soon? Especially M-Kurs?
Hey all. I'm an experienced physiotherapist from Turkey who is looking to work in Germany. I heard that there is a big need for workers in the industry and I'm wondering if any of you can give me kontakt infos of those who are in need of physiotherapists. Thx in advance.
Hello everyone,
What if my visa expires before I get my residence permit because I couldn't find an early appointment?
Könnte mir jemand, der in Deutschland als Ausländer studiert, ruhig erklären was es bedarf zu tun um von ner deutschen Uni dazu eingeladen zu werden?
shouldn't be an issue as long as you're in contact with the Ausländerbehörde, my residence permit often expired before all my documents were turned in.
Ah ok thank you, I sent them an email explaining my case few days ago
do you have an appointment?
I tried to make an appointment but they refused to
wym for the specific date or at all
at all, most probably because I am not registered in the city and the earliest appointment to register in the city is in February
so yeah xD
did you recently move there from somewhere else in Germany? when I moved they have to request all my documents from the ABH in my old town
no I moved from abroad
I see, well best to get registered and let the ABH know
and in my experience calling is typically best
I called them and the guy who answered was very sympathizing with me then he referred me to a hotline responsible for appointments and the lady who answered didn't speak English
I am part to blame for that but I sent them an email after
should be fine as long as you remain in contact with them then
because it shows you're going through the process and have the intent to stay and renew or what have you
Awesome
thanks a lot for the reassurance
np
What do you mean exactly? @vale warren
i was asking if anybody is planning for bachelors in germany for this winter intake 2022?
can anyone tell me if my 19 year old can change her name. She was born and lives in Germany.
is she a german citizen? important information, that
yes, she is a german citizen
anyway, this is the german name change law, as i understand it's hard to change your (first) name if you don't have a good reason: https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/nam_ndg/BJNR000090938.html
First or last name? For what reason she wants to change her name?
Hello anyone from Zurich?
Is Germany suitable for extroverts?
I've read a lot that Germany is an Introverted country and that it'll be hard for you to live and make friends there if you're an extrovert. Honestly, I don't know how true that is because I have many introvert friends online and offline who I love to spend time with. I've also read in psychology that opposite personalities attract each other and have actually found it to be true (most of my best friends are introverts!). I wouldn't consider myself an annoying introvert who will always ask for your attention but I do appreciate hanging out with friends a lot and also when people around me are friendly and interested to have a conversation.
Also, please tell me if what I wrote is not for this channel I'll remove it because I find it annoying myself when someone does that :D
Hey, it depends on the people you meet - in my opinion the amount of introverted people is the same as the amount of extroverted people. That's why I guess it isn't that hard for you to make friends in germany too! Maybe it depends on the region because there are cultural differences- so you know the region where you (maybe) going?
@exotic barn ich muss jetzt auch schnell essen, ping mich einfach in deinen Nachrichten und ich melde mich später wieder ^^
Mein Klassenlehrer hat Corona, aber ich werde andere Lehrer fragen.
ok
Guten Appetit!
I'll be going to Germany for future studies in like 1-2 year. I'm not sure yet where I'm going to stay but Munich and Berlin are my 2 preference atm. I hope the people accept my personality there ;-;
hii!! me and my gf are wondering how hard it is exactly to find opportunities to do freelance translation from german to english? o: we are trying to judge whether or not its worth her time investment in learning german vs some other language, she is already familiar with some german, spanish, and japanese, but none to a level ready for work yet
thank u for any advice ^_^
@stoic ocean german is most wanted for the moment keep going ..viel glück

Does anyone know about articles or websites that tell you about seeking a master's degree in deutschland.
reddit
r/germany: English-language discussions and news relating to Germany and German culture.
Thank you
Psychology
oh i see
😳 i highly doubt that, seeing how one is a technological degree and other one is a business degree
Both comes under M.Sc 💁🏾♂️ AFAIK, Correct me if I am wrong.
naming conventions vary by school, best to check the actual courses you'd be taking
Anyone going to Germany for their PhD/
?
I'm getting my masters in Canada, then going to Germany for nanophotonics.
not PhD, but I plan on doing a masters in germany. Currently working on a Bachelor, so will see when I get closer.
I am planing to go to Germany next year, does any one recommend good universities to get bachelor degree then master in computer science ?
Look it up online
i've been searching for weeks
I am just asking if anyone here can help me with any type of information
and thanks
I will try
is anybody here planning for the upcoming german winter intake?
I'm doing my 13th year rn
Are there any swiss here who know how much an "Importmarkeriung" should cost
Guys what is it like to study to be a pilot in germany

guys what are the reasons that german student visa could get rejected?
this is an amazing option for unlimited travel by train: https://www.interrail.eu/en/interrail-passes/global-pass
a girl i follow on tiktok was just talking about how she did this for a couple weeks
Can you still enter Germany, Austria or Switzerland if you have been convicted of a traffic crime (that resulted in a fee)? What about residence permit?
Hallo zusammen. Gibt es jemanden, der die Fakultät für Zahnmedizin in der Türkei absolviert und an einer Universität in Deutschland/ Österreich / Schweiz promoviert hat? Oder hat jemand Informationen und kann mir helfen?
Hi there. Is there anyone who graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry in Turkey and got his/her PhD from a university in Germany/Austria /Switzerland ? Or does someone have information and can help me?
Guys what does it mean when a course is dual?
Lying in your application
Did you pay the fee?
After I am finished with Anmeldung I will do my Recidency Permit
Yeahh
funny German Büro stuff
Yes
I'm not familiar with any regulations concerning crimes and immigration, but i highly doubt that'll be a problem unless it was something serious you did. I'd suggest calling the german embassy in your country and just ask them.
they don't (and probably can't) check for minor violations like that
I bumped into another car, no damage on the car or personal injury
lol
no one cares man , dont worry !!!
i thought you was talking about hit n run or something 😄
I mean it isn't unless you were arrested really
most people have minor traffic violations on their record but its generally not considered to be criminal
I had an illegal parking charge in the last & was able to obtain my B permit for the canton of Zürich! It technically counted as a civil offense, not criminal though. (If you’re from the US, they ask for an FBI background check which is federal, and I’m pretty sure most traffic violations there are through each state level!)
honestly, you think too much. its not considered criminal in germany. stuff like that happens. you pay the fine and everything is good, no one cares
What is funny you think??
It's totally logical. Only after you finish your Anmeldung (address registration), then you can proceed with the residence registration. Because the residence permit must show the exact address where you live, and to know it you must obviously register the address first. And it's really important to know if anyone moves to Germany.
I was just showing i was happy because i submit my anmeldung
It means, you will parallel study and practice (like working in a business or organization). Eg, Duales Studium in Germany, you will combine theory at a university and practice through working in a business. This program is very good, you study but still make money 😅. However you have to try so hard!!
Fines for traffic violations belong to administrative law (it’s called Verwaltungsrecht in Germany), not related to criminal.
any idea what is this?
And is dummy flight reservation itinerary acceptable during Germany student visa process? or a fully upfront paid flight ticket is mandatory? I mean i have these doubts considering the fact how the visa process may get delayed/affected during the covid peak period
Barcode you dont need to fill out, because it's only concerned to your legal representative like lawyer or attorney. They own a barcode.
Oh allrght thnks..and regarding the verification of flight tickets being 100% booked or not?
Since major of the airlines provide reservations backup till 48 hrs and a visa process takes min 15 days or so. So can we still provide a itinerary of a flight details which gets cancelled by the time my visa gets approved/under process?
You dont have to book a flight ticket during the process of visa. Its quite risky because of corona. You should wait until there is a visa approval from the German Embassy, then based on the time limit on your visa (at least 3 months for study visa) to buy a ticket or prepare concerned necessary stuff.
If you flight may get delayed or cancelled, then you should do these stuff with the airline. But normally based on the visa duration, it still can be solved. Arriving in Germany late for admission or sth, you still have a reason to explain.
which field automobile?
any idea though what this means?
Like how long the waiting window could be?
i suggest u check out DAAD
they pretty much have most of the information on it
At the moment you cant book an appointment for Student visa application I think. If you have any questions you can email or contact them by your reference number (just an identification number for applicants). But yeah fine because they will email you once it‘s available for booking. Just wait!!
How long? 🤷🏻 😂 How could I know that? Ask them or check again on their website.
Right, I mean since its covid era n with the summer/fall sem start dates closing in I was just worried
Email them. I think it‘s the best way to know when they will work again 😅.
Viel Glück ^^
Yeah
Danke
hey yall, kinda feels like a broad question, but in my attempts to get a foot in the door in terms of moving to germany from the states, i figured getting into college over there might be a good way, student visa i think is the simplest path perhaps, im currently studying aviation maintance here in the states so anything near future is out of the question but good to look foward anyways
My question is: given my interests in the aviation industry and some business aspects, which school might someone reccomend?
i suggest the best thing to do is to go onto the DAAD database to find out universities and you can go into their corresponding aviation/aerospace department website and see which one suits your interests the best.
you could also look at the ranking lists they have linked in the websites to find the more general preferences
much appreciated will definitely look into it
@fallow hornet come to bremen!
So much aerospace engineering
Airbus has their headquarters here too
I made a meme about my morning. I think the gym staffer made a mistake but there was no convincing her....
Hallo Leute. I want to study Information Technology(Machine Learning) in Germany. Should I go for Bachelor's Degree or Ausbildung?
depends what qualifications you have, the Ausbildung will be more practical and allow you to earn money while learning.
the visa for an Ausbildung requires at least B1 German but practically every Ausbildung is done entirely in the language anyway
this is really annoying
@glass pewter I called the gym again and whoever I talked to just made a mistake 😅
hah
tfw I don't need to any kind of ausweis to go to work or supermarket
but if I go to a bookstore it's suddenly "STOP RIGHT THERE"
Oh, I shared my vaccination records to my workplace... I thought all workplaces were 3g now
Man I forget that going shopping aside from the groceries is a thing
I work m-f and then am exhausted on Saturday then nothing is open on Sunday 🥲
what are the reasons that a student visa for Germany could get rejected? ( if anyone here whose student visa had been rejected for Germany can you dm or drop a text here) thankyou
Kann man für Gymnasium das Visum kriegen?
Is it hard to find a teacher job in germany?
not really
all teachers in germany are trash
Ausbildung is the easiest
I'd say it is not that hard. In my state (Berlin/Brandenburg) we are always looking for teachers, there are far too few for so many students.
But what kind of teachers tho, its my dad im talking about, we all want to move but i cant really find any jobs online for a geography/english teacher
How long does it take to learn German/English to a good enough level to work? My parents dont know either ;-;
i assume with teaching the problem is going to be (1) teaching certification, (2) sufficient language level to be able to teach in german
probably looking at at least C1 to be able to teach in german. that's at a bare minimum a year, likely 18+ months if you really put work into it. other jobs maybe B2? depends on the role. if they don't already speak german then jobs at international schools may be a better choice
i can see a few english-lang teaching jobs in those fields: (https://www.tes.com/jobs/vacancy/teacher-of-geography-neuss-germany-1525069, https://www.tes.com/jobs/vacancy/secondary-teacher-of-english-berlin-germany-1547972)
guys did anyone try the https://www.care-concept.de/ insurance? is it good or?
Auslandskrankenversicherung für Ausländer in Deutschland/EU ab € 21,00 • Auslandsversicherung für Deutsche im Ausland ab € 10,90/Jahr • Online-Sofortbestätigung
Questioning whether me, a social butterfly, will thrive in Germany at all when in school. Also apparently German uni is very tough as a foreigner, if not as a native
had it when I came to germany I would say its okay, you get some benefits from it
can i dm you?
sure
Is SAT test or ACT a mandatory for foreigners to study in germany ?
Ping me if you wanna answer please :)
Hello Leute! Is anyone doing Ausbildung in Informatik(Preferably in App/web dev or Machine Learning)?
guys i have the same question ..is there anyone here who has experienced rejected student visa to Germany? please pm
Care Concept I did try during the time I was in German Preparation course for my study. It‘s a private insurance, really good and ideal for students when they‘re still not officially enrolled as university students. With another purposes I have no idea! (After the coverage time of insurance, that you don't use at all, you can even get a small amount of money back).
If you are an official student (study bachelor or master or etc), you have to use a public insurance (eg: TK Krankenkasse, AOK, …), more expensive but it‘s mandatory!
Hey guys, do you know if the Einstufungstest (onSET-DEUTSCH) can be valid for the Erasmus application (linguistic competence)? Or if anyone tried doing something similar to this
thank you for your reply, do you remember how long it took care concept to process your insurance application?
Heyyy can you help me with a decision, I guess because you live in Germany you might know what is best: if you had an opportunity to study the same subject (International business administration) is 3 universities:
- University of cologne
- TUM München
- FAU Nürnberg
What would you choose?
🥰 ui good choice
Ty
Hello, this is some kind of serious question
The only S-bahn station i need to use everyday seems like defaced by group of nazis
since this morning police all over the station camping
is this some group of edgy kids or its a serious thing
there is a big text on the ground saying nazis sind hier und es gibt keine spazierengang or something like that
Berlin? Graffiti sounds like the norm to me
same applies then
do be careful
but if the police are on stand by then i think you don't have to worry that much
yea but they won't be there all the time
existence of these dudes was worrysome nearby
but another thing is
this is an area with closed big turkish community
and they give no fucks to anyone
ffs i just want to put on my headphones and go to work
I am trying to apply for Studienkolleg in TU Munich and it asks for "Higher Education Entrance Qualification". Anyone knows what that is? https://www.tum.de/en/studies/application/other-forms-of-study/preparatory-study-at-the-studienkolleg#:~:text=With it%2C you can apply, interested in pursuing after Studienkolleg.
i bet this means whatever qualification you took in high school (e.g. a-levels, IB)
Should I consider Hof University of applied sciences for computer science ? My main focus is getting into cyber security field and i've seen in its recent instagram post Hof had few student who won CTF (competetion for hackers) and as an international student they have many Indian students and start 1st year with A2 level german and take us to C1 or C2 by the end of our course
thx!
Where is the best place to find very last minute (within 2 days) housing options (2 months or so) in Berlin?
i've used airbnb at such short notice before, but the fact you need 2 months is gonna make it awkward
I thought so too. How long did you book your airbnb for, if you don't mind me asking?
Hey Any one here applied to German university as an international student? I studied 12 years not 13 but I have my IGCSE and a levels do you know if I’ll be qualified for direct entry to German universities
i think i got it for 3 months in the end. it's too short a period of time to get any longer-term leases. i managed to get a room that had a really good discount for long-term (>1 month) stays.
I’ve been looking for an answer for a while
which a-levels did you do?
Chemistry physics and mathematics
might not be enough. usually you need a language on top.
Yes I’m doing goethe German
no, you need a language a-level. not anymore, blessed german requirements update
but the 2022 regulations look to have changed, let me have a skim through them.
Oh ok so if I take only as English is that enough
I heard that lit eng is not allowed
wait, do you speak german
i can just send you the regulations if you do
that being said, looks like you're fine for admission from summer 2022. they've just this year changed the rules. it says, roughly
- 12 years of education
- 3 A-Level subjects passed with grade C, with some subject-specific requiremetns that it looks like you meet.
never heard of it
(which is nice, the requirements were much more strict when i was looking at applying 😆 )
The situation is my sister is doing her a levels this year I am asking for her actually because I was clueless when I tried for Germany and didn’t succeed but I’m now clear about a lot of things except for this one question
Oh that’s great to hear
So no language a level?
looks like her requirements will be fine, assuming she's applying for a technical subject.
point her to this page: https://anabin.kmk.org/no_cache/filter/schulabschluesse-mit-hochschulzugang.html#land_gewaehlt
Yes engineering
and select "Großbritannien" and go to " General Certificate of Education - Advanced Level (Bewertungsvorschlag anwendbar ab Zulassungstermin Sommersemester 2022)"
Thanks!
it's fairly clearly explained so if she can read german she'll be fine to understand it 🙏
really, so nice of them to bring the entry requirements closer in line with what UK universities expect. it was such a pain in the butt previously to take a-levels for UK and german unis.
Thank you so much for your help you are the best!
Hey what does number 5 means because she is taking AICE and I couldn’t really understand this line
Does it say AICE is not accepted?
https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/programmes-and-qualifications/recognition-and-acceptance/country/germany/ cambridge have a guide in english for this.
Guidance on university recognition of Cambridge qualifications in specific countries.
Thank you!!
hi
Guys do u recommend to pass trough the studienkolleg or to enter the college directly
Through *
There's also https://www.daad.de/en/study-and-research-in-germany/plan-your-studies/recognition-gce/
Altho tbh some of the things confuse me
Like,
These new regulations can optionally be applied from the date of admission for the summer semester 2022, provided that this results in a more favourable classification for university admission.
Is this decided by the individual university? Or can I just assume the new regulations will be fine for me (I'm planning to take the May/June 2022 A levels series)?
Secondly, I was homeschooled for several years before high school. Does this mean I can't apply since I wouldn't be able to meet the 12 years of school attendance rule?
As a rule, at least 12 years of school attendance are required for the assessment.
Guys I don’t understand this do they mean we have to take full a levels at once and we can’t separate and take an a level as as+as
if you dont mind me asking, what year will u be joining and what course is it? Since even im planning to study at TUM :D
Uff i really don't know ^^"
Cause i'll go to the USA for a year so i don't know which year
But i'll study astronomy
it's saying taking an AS alone isn't sufficient for admission.
(it used to be that, iirc, two AS levels could replace one A2 level?)
Ok so they don’t accept a subject as an as you have to do as and a level of a subject to be considered right
As +as
yes, that's what i'd think
ah ok, gl with everything^^
guys, anyone know some resource for how to apply to study in germany?
like anyone know any good advisors who i can ask questions to?
i have a engineering Bachelor’s degree in USA
and i have worked as a teacher for 2 years, but now i want to study further
my main concern is my GPA was quite low, and i dont know if i can get Master degree, or i should get another Bachelor degree
hey i don't now if these kinds of question allowed here or not but i wanted to know if i'm already in universty and studying computer science can i continue it in germany + my father is already working in germany so could he make things easier ?
and what will be the requirments ?
@fiery stone depends on his status and yes you can continue studying
u mean by (his statues) his money? + i won't need to put 10k euro in bank right ? because he is already there?
well if he does a "Verpflichtungserklärung" to finance you no you don't need 10k euros
but he needs to show his income to prove that he can support you
oh ok so what are requirments to apply does german universties needs specific tests to take or just language ? and should i use that uni assist site to apply for universty ? or i can just send my papers to my dad and he can manage it ?
- is acceptence rate to universties like Humboldt University of Berlin
and Technische Universität München
low or what?
idk about humboldt but uni münchen is quite in demand for some reason so they are stricter and it is also harder (depends how smart you are ofc)
so what are good univirsites u recommend for studying computer science ?or it depends on other things ?
if you are planning on working in germany later on it does not make a difference tbh. in germany they dont have the mindset of "oh you went to yale/harvard" if you are good at what you do the degree will just be a piece of certification that you have to give as part of their bureaucracy thats all
some people studied at my uni and still landed jobs at facebook even though it is pretty unknown for its computer science department
oh ok so what are requirments to apply does german universties needs specific tests to take or just language ? and should i use that uni assist site to apply for universty ? or i can just send my papers to my dad and he can manage it ?
you need your papers translated (obviously) and you would probably require a german language test (dsh/daf/telc) then you have to submit them through uni assist because they will convert your grades to the german format because thats what the uni requires. but in terms of requirement as long as it says in their website "zulassungsfrei" that means you just need to send your paper and they will most likely are going to accept you
your dad could intermediate the process i guess but what he needs to do is to help you apply for a student visa from your current residing country
just a side info the language test isn't required at the application but they are required at the enrolment so usually they will ask for B2 certification for the application and will ask you to provide a dsh/daf/telc once you will enroll to the university
Thanks i needed this too
I’d say avoid these agencies at all costs especially the ones that charge (I’ve had a bad experience) germany has websites uniassit, daad, anabin and many other resources that will help you plus you can ask here if you have doubts and if you want to use the websites and you are a little confused on how to you can google YouTube video or even ask here
Is it hard to get scholarship in Germany as an international student?
If you are very good in school no
But it's hard to be very good so...
in terms of German work culture...... Is it common for people to ignore Emails or not reply..... I had a recruiter for a staffing firm interview me for a position I applied to, did another meeting to fix a few things on my CV..... but I have emailed the person 2 times in the last 2.5 weeks about updates with no answer.
Please let me know
Hat jd Erfahrung mit dem Wechsel von Präsenzstudium ins Fernstudium? BITTE mich kontaktieren!! Danke schön 🙂 💙
Can my fiance come to Germany?
To be allowed to enter Germany, unmarried couples must produce the following documents: an invitation from the partner who lives in Germany. a declaration of the existence of the relationship, signed by both partners. and proof of previous visits in the form of passport stamps, travel documents or airline tickets.
https://www.bmi.bund.de/SharedDocs/kurzmeldungen/EN/2020/08/einreise-unverheirateter-paare-en.html
Unmarried partners from third countries can enter Germany again
Does he live in Germany?
Then the article above wont be very relevant to you 😅
You can always apply for Schengen visa tho
Simply said, it’s a tourist Visa
Tbh i’m not very well informed in this topic. If you need answers, you can contact the german embassy
I mean you can just google stuff like this pretty easily
But here you go
alternatively if your spouse is an EU citizen but you both live in Germany together can you get a visa simply for that reason?
yes. because they are EU citizen they will be treated like a german citizen if they live in germany in terms of partnership laws
can the marriage be recent or does some time have to pass
not sure about that but an application for the visa takes already couple of months to be processed
yeah I'm familiar unfortunately
if i want to enter a university i should do an entrance exam
but my country might have a different study system
how can i know the name of lessons that i should study
Guys i need someone here who is currently doing studienkolleg or he’s already done with it plz i only have a few questions
And plz hmu
Should I consider Hof University of applied sciences for computer science ? My main focus is getting into cyber security field and i've seen in its recent instagram post Hof had few student who won CTF (competetion for hackers) and as an international student they have many Indian students and start 1st year with A2 level german and take us to C1 or C2 by the end of our course
it can be recent, I applied for mine less than a month after getting married
oh great, are you able to work with this visa?
yep
though to get it, your spouse needs to be working in Germany
but presumably they are if they live here
once you've got it, you're fine to work here
she is a dutch citizen and studies in the netherlands, we live in a border town
we actually plan to marry in the netherlands since its much easier, to marry in our current city we would each need to request documents proving out eligibility to marry
oh yeah my partner and I got married in Denmark bc it's such a pain in Germany
i am a bit concerned about the requirement of them having to work in Germany, hopefully its not an issue though. I imagine since we are right on the border there are lots of people who work in NL.
I think the technical requirement is "proof of financing", so it's an employment contract OR a savings account or something else equivalent
if you're right on the border maybe a dutch contract works but idk how that goes legally, it's v different from our situation in that respect
well for my current Ausbildung visa i have the Verpflichtungserklärung so hopefully it just carries over 🤷♂️
at least for the Aufenthaltskarte application here, they require the SPOUSE to be able to prove they can support you for some reason, even though the visa would let you work here... it's weird
idk if that varies by state tho
for us it was fine to just have both our job contracts though
I've never worked with a Verpflichtungserklärung though so idk when and where those work
hmm alright, im not too concerned then if its simply a matter of proving financial support
Really? 👀
its more for students and azubis, it only covers my side of things though
and she receives a stipend from the dutch government for being a student so that should help
definitely check your local ausländerbehörde's website to see if they have more details on their requirements, they might make it clearer what exactly's required or have an email address you can ask at
i also wanted to ask if you're eligible for Wohngeld and other welfare now?
we tried applying in the past but we aren't even eligible atm
oh hm I have no idea
I think a lot of the welfare stuff relies on whether you've been working in Germany or not and thus paying into the system? But I haven't really had to look into it
yea think you're right
in any case thanks for the answers, clears up a lot of my concerns
no problem! happy to help
marriage and visa stuff can be super stressful and there's a lot of different situations so it's sometimes hard to find specifics

Hallo, Leute! Does anybody have the list of all the universities that offers Studienkolleg?
Can anyone tell whick is the best exam to give,
to have my German proficiency certificate?
Also what level would be enough to land me on a german based course in uni
Thank you very much
I do not know to much about all of the different courses that exist but I can tell you that the course from the Goethe Institut is pretty highly rated. To give you an example; I am studying to be a German teacher and we have to get our Goethe certificate at the end of our study to show that we are C1. Without it we wouldn't be allowed to teach.
is there is a list of universities that study Medicine
Kommt auf den Ort an
https://www.studienkollegs.de/Kontaktdaten.html are these all?
not all, best to do more searching

Hi friends, does anyone here have experience doing a secondment in Germany at a public accounting firm?
@left mason there are sims you can get with a data pack + unlimited calls and sms. WinSim is one example
I pay 6,99€ monthly for 3GB data
Hey does anyone know someone that got into tum
yes
henlo!
I am a university student, who will maybe do a month-long exchange to a german hospital if omicron doesn't get in the way later this year. Due how the programm works, i need to chose 3 "preferred cities /hospitals", among a list of places available on the month of my exchange.
I did search a lot about the cities, and considering a bit of my goals and places i tend to prefer. I usually prefer bigger cities, and was looking for places with the best structure for research and academic institutes, which emphasis on the areas of neuroscience and regenerative medicine/stem cell research.
however, i am a bit stumped on how to go about deciding between a list of cities, and wanted to ask if any of you guys could tell me about either the cities themselves or the institutions there. Any info bit would help!
The cities would be:
Heidelberg , frankfurt, hamburg (i can only choose one between the 3)
cologne
dusseldorf
hannover
and i might come to be in the awkward and surprisingly controversial situation of having to pick one place to go between Düsseldorf and köln
i also have read some conflicting stuff about "ranking " differences between german institutions (how many doors it can open and etc). Whether it changes much from each university or not really. It is partially why i am being a bit biased to heindelberg and frankfurt even tho hamburg (on paper) seems like the city i would like more to be ;f
it is something that i am considering on, as any networking that may come from the exchange can maybe help me later if i end up moving to germany.
yes
Hello, does anyone here know how competitive it is to get into the studienkolleg’s T-course and M-course considering that i have a B2 language certificate and apply to several studienkollegs. Thanks a lot.
either way you'll have to pass the admission test 😗
an keep in mind, there's usually hundreds of applicants every semester , and they only accept those with best results in the admission test
so yea, it's quite competitive. especially if you want to take M-course.
there's usually a lot more applicants for M-course than any other courses. And unlike T-course with 3-4 classes /semester, less classes are usually opened for M. so
ayy da bist du ja
most universities in germany are equally good.
if you want to take Neuro, then I'd recommend checking where neuro research institutes are located. say, Max Planck Institut, etc
ui lange nicht mehr gesehen
in Baden-Würrtemberg there are a lot of good universities
hast du von der Schießerei in Uni Heidelberg gehört?
ja
schreckli
ja krass das sowas noch passieren kann
hab gehört dass er neonaz1 war oder so
komm lass in dm reden
ja
I should focus on Frankfurt and Heidelberg then.
Thanks snow!
Frankfurt ist larger and very international. Heidelberg is more cosy and beautiful but at least for my taste too conservative and boring 😉
Heidelberg is much more of a university town, so if you go out, 90% of people are students. Which may be good or bad depending on what you like 😄
the other 10% are tourists 😂
Greetings, I am currently about to enroll myself in either a TestDaF prüfung or a telc c1 and came here to get some advice regarding what i should take
im trying to apply to TUM for physics/chemistry
need a sprachnachweis because they dont accept what i currently have
was wondering if you guys could tell me the relative difficulty of getting a 4/4/4/4 on the testdaf as opposed to passing the telc c1 hochschule
the testDaF exam i would enroll in is taking place on the 17th of feb while the telc c1 exam is on the 26th of feb, so i would have more prep time for the telc exam
Getting a 4/4/4/4 is not that hard, so long as your german is in c1
Heck my german wasnt that good last year, but still got 5/5/5/4
hm
my german teach says im a c1
id only have like a week to prep for the testdaf
außerdem kenn ich dicht net also würde ich net wissen wie gut dein Deutsch war 💀
You inly need to know briefly how the test is structured and etc
So that you dont come to the test totally clueless
also schreibprüfung geht locker
über sprechen bin ich mir net so sicher
alles andere geht klar
oke
thx
🤠
oh dang, wir kriegen 30 min bearbeitungszeit für die mündliche prüfung
dass krieg ich schön hin
pog
😂 vielleicht muss ich es auch erwähnen, dass für mündlich 10 Aufgaben gegeben sind
oh
Idk where to ask this but I am planning on taking the B1 exam this year maybe around April or May and I will be studying B1 within a week or two
Will I be able to pass the Goethe exam after preparing for it within two months after completing B1
yes just study hard, stop playing around gib gas gogogog

Hi all, what is a good place to buy photography equipment online in DE?
how how how

Is the vaacine thing so serious over there? Amongst the public
It's best to ask about topics like that in #archived-sensitive-topics
Aah..kk my bad
hi, any fellow saffas who know whether a BSc (3 years without honours) is enough to apply for masters in Germany? I'm specifically looking into Heidelberg uni.
Places I've searched:
- uni websites direct me to anabin and I don't get what anabin is saying
- reddit posts: divided opinions and stories
- I emailed Heidelberg but I don't think they'll get back to me any time soon
is this a BSc Ord from the UK, or somewhere else?
BSc non-honours isn't generally enough for masters entry
it's a BSc from South Africa
hm, what does anabin say about that?
Don't know if it's good but this is one store I'm aware of: https://www.foto-heibel.de/
Hallo!, does anyone know if it is possible to transfer money from wise.com to a german account on https://vivid.money/en-eu/ ????
had good luck 😔
o
Vielen Dank!
hee, warum ist Chickie locked out?
does anyone here have any idea whether it would be possible to work remotely for a German company while living in Austria on a student visa? I have a job offer but it seems like a long shot that it would work out
ask the company?
they don't know either :/
I'm not aware of the laws but I think it should be possible. The only problem that comes to mind would be related to the Abzüge. Would you be steueransässig in DE or AT? What about the Rentenversicherung?
those are the sorts of things I wonder about too; I tried to read some of the laws but they're really long and complex. the other question is whether I have Zugang zur deutschen Arbeitsmarkt
also zu der Frage vermute ich eher dass ich das nicht habe
I mean otherwise everyone would do it
they would just find the easiest EU country to get a visa and then apply in the country with the highest pay
or some similar scheme like that
https://www.ris.bka.gv.at/GeltendeFassung.wxe?Abfrage=Bundesnormen&Gesetzesnummer=10008365 from what I read here I couldn't find anything explicitly saying it's not allowed but I also don't think that this is the entirety of the law that this situation would be subject to
What level do I need to reach so I can study in Germany? B2?
No i dont think that it's possible
you'll need first and foremost Arbeitserlaubnis, which can usually be found written on your visa
it states : how long you can work, when you can work (during holiday or etc).
if you dont have the document, i dont think it'll be possible to work in Germany
you'll also need Steueridentifikationsnummer, which can only be obtained, if you live in Germany and have registered yourself in the Bürgerbüro
well... it's not as simple as apply for the job, get accepted, work, earn money. there's lot of paperworks to be done, if you want to work in germany
lmao, they should if they want to hire you
if it's a border town the ABH and Bürgerbüro should be used to cases like this, best to contact either of them.
that would depend on lots of factors, like which university you're applying to and what language the courses you want to take are in
of course it really helps with everyday life if you speak German at least at a B2 level
right? this is pretty ridiculous; I'm sure I'll find another job that doesn't involve this XD
yeah I thought as much; I think I'll just decline the job and look elsewhere
I don't have that much time to work anyway... I have 10 classes this semester! D:
I have a friend who's working for a German company from abroad, but she lived in Germany when she got it so I think it wouldn't apply to your case
wow, that's a lot, good luck
it's better to put education first imho, but sometimes it depends on the field of work : )
yeah I mean, I technically can write php and that was apparently the only consideration they have... but there are too many potential problems with, say, taking the job and deciding to just enter the industry and not finish my studies. I like studying and I want to learn a lot more before I become a "professional"
now I need to figure out how to respectfully decline the job... :/
You don't owe them anything, just say no. I myself went through the whole process and interviews and said no at the end, sometimes it's hard but well
Your question is too general, I'm pretty sure it depends on a job
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost sure you wouldn't need a car to work in McDonalds or as a programmer xd
Lots of people commute to work with public transport (it's doing much better in Europe than in US)
Compared to the layout of cities in the US, it's not only very feasible to use public transportation or even just walk to work, it's quite normal in Europe. At least based on the European cities I've visited/lived in. If you have a literal geographical barrier between you and your workplace it may not be as simple, but you see people commuting on foot, by bicycle, or (increasingly) via scooters/electric scooters every day in Vienna
Although if I had to head downtown I'm not sure I would want to ride my bike as there's a really steep hill between me and the inner city XD
I can't speak for every city, but there's a big difference between the public transportation in Vienna and what I dealt with in Colorado. Just to illustrate this, I'm on my way downtown right now to meet some friends and this involves walking for about 10 minutes to the subway, waiting at max 5 minutes for the subway, riding for 10 minutes, then walking to the meeting place, which might mean another 15 minutes. Sounds like a lot but if I hated walking I would be able to find a faster connection via bus or tram
It would be even easier with a scooter; I've been considering getting one because they seem like a lot of fun
In the town I lived in in Colorado, you had to walk at least a mile from where I lived to get to the bus stop, and it only came once an hour
Sometimes it just didn't come at all
Biking was out of the question due to aggressive drivers
I'd blame the shitty urban design of the US more than the agressive drivers
hey guys... quick question maybe someone could help me with this doubt.... I'm about to travel to berlin... and I'm looking for rooms (not my question but if anyone knows about a room please let me know... ) and I'm finding some rooms at Potsdam, i can see at google maps is very near... but could someone tell me how is the transport situation? Living in Postdam and having to go to downtown of berlin every weekday... ?? is difficult the transportation?
or maybe the transportation could be more expensive than usual?
can I apply for VPD around March even though the admission deadlines are from April/may till july
yess i just did it, even i'll be applying in july and I just got my VPD results
Can you explain the procedure
sure, the documents u need depends on the country that you're from. Im from India but I can send you the uni-assist links that explains it for your country
I can DM them to you
Yeah sure
I'm from India too
What does admission free courses mean?
guys are there anyone whose doing an international relations degree ? if so what kind of an internship are we supposed to do before applying for a degree in IR?
I'm having this question for a while now
To study bachelor in Germany I need to do studienkolleg first, but in Austria I havent seen anywhere Studienkolleg being mentioned, only B2 level German. Does that mean that I dont need to do Studienkolleg if I were to study in Austrai?
thanks in Advanced
Afaik you still have to do studienkolleg in austria
The thing is, it’s called something else, not studienkolleg
What is the difference between admission free courses and non admission free courses
I'm guessing you mean NC (numerus clausus). Basically it means there are usually more applicants for a course than there are student slots. So there is a selection process of the applicants and only few get in.
In a non-NC course the student slots aren't limited, so you can get accepted as long as you meet the minimum requirements
That I know
How much time will it take for them to process the documents if I apply for non nc admission free courses?
Assuming I have received the vorprüfungsdokumentation before applying
And if I have applied on the day the admission portal opens up
Ah I misunderstood your question, sorry.
Hard to generalise unfortunately. It depends on the uni so it can take a few days, few weeks or even months
Guten Abend.
Ach so
Is anyone applying for bsc comp sci and AI at technische hochschule Ingolstadt this year?
And bachelors in global economics and business management
Which exam is easier for b1?
Please I need your help
for me it took a few days but it rly depends
On what? On applying quickly with vpd and the other documents?
yes
Where did you apply
Hochschule Neu Ulm
Ach so
Which exam is easier for b1
Bewerbung als Elektroniker.
ja ich habe alles richtig gemach. ich habe Anschreiben,Lebenslauf, Abschluss, und viele Dokumente .
does anyone know where i would start with the study of culture?
Is it possible to get a conditional admission at hochschule for admission free courses
Yes. For example achieving the C1 level in German
The hochschulen I'm applying to require B1 level certificate
If all the documents i submit are correct then can I get a conditional admission
By all documents i am also talking about vpd, application forms and notarized documents
why conditional application if you already have all the documents ready?
That's because it will take some time to submit the B1 language certificate
usually universities do grant conditional admission letters.. it really depends on the university..
but u will have to submit the missing certificates befour enrolling closing date .. there are some rules but yah getting a conditional admission letter is possible if the university decides you are eligible for the study program .. if your submitting documents through uni assit sometimes uni assit might not send your documents to the uni cause of the misisng docs then it's a problem.. but if your applying directly to the uni then there is a chance
guys anybody who studies at deggendorf institute of technology?? or anyone here whose familiar with this uni ??? please reply .. thankyou
I'm familiar
I'm applying via the uni assist portal to West saxon hochschule at zwickau, they said I can submit the certificate of participation of B1 level along with the documents, assuming they are correct and I can submit the official language certificate later
What's the procedure for applying via uni assist assuming I get the vpd before applying?
if the uni confirmed then along with that they must give you the deadline to submit your official B1
no much , just choose a course and upload the documents to the uni assit site before the deadlines
idk much about the VPD procedure.
VPD is required only if the university asked specifically
How much time will it take for them to process the documents
if your applying in may by june or early july the latest they will process .. somehow befour the deadline
Ohh
How do people get admits quickly
what do u mean ?
I mean some people get admits quickly right around a week or two after applying
Its enough for applying to certain universities
Oh
Nachdem ich nach Deutschkenntnisse bis C1 verbessern, werde ich studieren
Hallo guys can someone of u list me some best public studienkollegs for w course plz
how long does it take to wohnung ummeldung
Is it enough also for studienkollegs
Nein
Ohh no
I mean that what’s been told the most
That b1 is more than enough for studienkollegs
So they require b2
Can someone confirm please
hello guys i have a question is it possible to do a pre registration in a german university for my visa
Because at first i want to go for 6 months language courses then the university
So i want to prove what i will do after language courses
U have to prove your German proficiency if u want to apply for a visa or either a uni one of the prerequisites to apply for a uni is the language so u can’t without it but it’s possible if u apply for English taught programs and show them that u are going to study in english in that case it’s possible once u go there u can enroll for a sprachenzentrum
Okey so it’s not possible to register in a university then add the missing docs!
does anyone here know the average wage for a software developer in germany
specially a golang software developer
i just took the thing my landlady gave me for the ummeldung, went to my local Bürgerbüro and waited for around 10 mins, filled out something and that was it
altho depending on where u are u might be able to just fill something out and send it in
no i mean the time between documents are sent to your new city from other city
officially appearance on the documents etc
how long does it take
i will go there tomorrow
i just wanted to calculate something beforehand if i find the answer
No
Well that’s from what i know
Mir geht’s gut und dir
Okeyy thanks tho
Alles gut danke
it depends on the uni and course ..
what type of course are you applying for ?
no
you need B2
