So we can time you properly. 😛
Chuck!
@ocean robin I can translate sentences very fast.
Ah.
Time to watch some Fußball
Yeah, why not Base, will help me procrastinate
😄
@ocean robin "I can translate very fast" I think was the sentence
Ich kann Sätze sehr schnell übersetzen. 🤔
@pine ginkgo I gave you the original original and an attempted fixed translation of the original original up there 😄
🎉
That's horrible Flops. Go think about it over dinner and tell us what the mistake is.

arrem's memeing that's actually fine
i'm just trying to find as many ways to say "My mother's dog" now
Arrem memiert mit seinen Memes auf dem Server zum Lernen von deutschen Memes, damit die memige Mannschaft neue Memes zur Erlangung der Meme-Freiheit sich ermemen kann.

If you want something tricky: The platform was now crowded with onlookers recording the scene from dozens of tiny cameras, people probably watching their viewer counts skyrocket as word spread across Blink that someone was about to be lightninged to death by an escaped mental patient.
No
That was close teeeis
Hoyl Base.
But no
What's happening here?
Is that for me? 🤔
Check your cases
Arrem memes with his memes on the server for learning from german memes so that the memey team can meme up new memes to extend the meme freedom
No, Flappy. 😄
Wow I was almost afraid.
Flops weren't you gonna go eat? 🤔
I was 🤔
Good job snekky
Now I go.
But close too
@whole rapids That is for you unless you don't like it.
I think I guessed what Erlangung meant and got it wrong
I have something for you when you return @ocean robin that will make you make happy
If you combine both of your attempts, it may be correct
Good. Try not to choke and die.
Arrem memes with his memes on the German meme learning server, so that the memey team can meme new memes to obtain meme freedom
I think
either way even the failed one was better than the german ones because it's at least grammatically correct
it's so hard to do this on my phone because the original message moves every time someone sends a new one
what is Blink @opal sequoia?
okay, won't translate that
(I haven;t actually read this book)
Wasn't Arizona translating a sentence?
I was
I'll add it to my list of things to procrastinate, you will receive it soon
Okay. 😄
Where did it go?
latest attempt was
"The cost of one bottle of whatever scotch these people were drinking would have paid for her appointment."
"der Preis einer Flasche von irgendeinem Scotch, den diese Leute tranken, hätte ihren Termin bezahlt"
You need something else for "whatever"
Ye
"jedweder" 🙃
Ich würde da eine welchem auch immer-Konstruktion verwenden
I tried to use that originally
failed miserably
"Der Preis einer Flasche von welchem auch immer Scotch, den diese Leute tranken, hätte ihren Termin bezahlt"
Welchem scotch auch immer
Oh
Sollte gehen
ok
"Der Preis einer Flasche von welchem Scotch auch immer, den diese Leute tranken, hätte ihren Termin bezahlt"
mit welche__ X auch immer with whatever X
yeah
Ja. Aber wir lernen etwas neues.
Glaubst du
für wen ist "glaubst du"
how do I say "post" as in "I got 68 comments on my Reddit post telling me I'm an idiot"?
cool
der Post
Danke
ok so "Der Preis einer Flasche von welchem Scotch auch immer, den diese Leute tranken, hätte ihren Termin bezahlt" is fine finally?
If you are on the meme server, it's pfosten

Pfosten is the noun?
Yes
in memeland
Alrighty
Normal version: der Post
Meme version: der Pfosten
Pfosten is also the word for an actual physical post.
Ernste Meme-Version: der Beitrag
Oh that makes sense why they use it then
So kenn ich es aus Foren
ok so "Der Preis einer Flasche von welchem Scotch auch immer, den diese Leute tranken, hätte ihren Termin bezahlt" is fine finally?
how would you say "Faden" not literally?

Also nochmal:

Snekkie, beantworte das
hmm
Die Antwort ist [redacted]
Vom Stil her würde ich statt Der Preis einer Flasche Das Geld für eine Flasche sagen
Aber sonst klingts recht gut
Ich bims verwirrt
Wooo I am back.
Welcome back, Fläppers.
Hello Mika!
wb Fläpßi
Ich habe den Satz jetzt so oft gelesen, ich weiß nicht mehr, ob der richtig ist.
👀 warum ist jeder in #general-2
Was?
🤔
Why are together in #general-2
#general-2 = #translation_game
*ist @hot cloak

= flappsy doesnt even finish her translations
where are they
#general-2 = #general - memes + learning
jeder = plural... multiple people... but gets "ist" 👀

Mitch, each person is or are?
I don't want to catch hip
because life, Mitch
hey flappy
¯_(ツ)_/¯
new transate for you to translate
@pine ginkgo what? lol
oops
Yo Pferd, sup.
brain borked
WOOOO WHERE
If you say each person
new sentence for you to procrastinate
And have the verb be

more like "everyone is"
everyone are correct don't nag him
Do you say each person is good
She doesn't want to walk to work today because she'd much rather drive, but her car won't start.
but I get your point
Fläppers, can you just translate everything being said here?
Or each person are good
Flapsy, try to translate the Rhabarber story
@ocean robin can you just speak german?
Jesus clever.
then it should be NO PROBLEM LOL
I know it's not exactly the same, but it may help
"Sie will nicht zu Arbeit zu Fuß gehen, weil sie viel lieber fahren würde, aber ihr Auto werden nicht starten."
did you just cheat
Who said it was easy because we didn't finish it.
Arbeit still wants an article.
No I didn't Pferd.
okay good
don't you trust her integrity?
because that took you less than 3 hours
LOL
Oh nice, you got an old sentence
So how many days has this sentence taken now?
🤔
Fläppers.
LOL WHAT
Ignore the others.
Yeah Mikuh.
Ignore me
🤔
?
Does "zu die Arbeit" even exist? Or does it have a case and then it's der?
Fläppers, what is "zu"?
To?
Prepositions takes cases that I should learn which it takes as well.

Lemme check.
Aha. Dative.
Now Arbeit in Dative
Zu der -> zur?
Yup.
Wooo so lemme put that
"Sie will nicht zur Arbeit zu Fuß gehen, weil sie viel lieber fahren würde, aber ihr Auto wird nicht starten."
Wow.
Saw that mistake right away, why it was here
Okay, you also corrected the "werden", but you actually need present tense in the last clause.
Not in German, it sounds like you're a master in fortune-telling.
I could just take beginnen too but that sounded weird.
Autos can't beginnen.
When this came up several natives said "starten" works
👀 warum nicht
Fläppers.
I think Nikki meant the konj
Because it really means "The car isn't starting" because it's implied that you're trying to start it right now or that you did in the past. If you say "will" like future it's weird.
*mika
You need to conjugate "starten".
Yeah, was about to say that
das Auto begann sein Leben... als ein kleiner Motor, der sehr geliebt wurde ...
Startet?
@quasi merlin Were you pointing out the conjugation or saying that it should be another verb?
🤔
Ah, thought it was another verb.
Did flops finish yet
"Sie will nicht zur Arbeit zu Fuß gehen, weil sie viel lieber fahren würde, aber ihr Auto startet nicht."
Wow
And think of time-manner-place.
There isn't.
Ah.
But there's a manner and place.
Yeah? mmmh
And place should come after manner.
AH.
I'm curious, does "aber ihr Auto will nicht starten." work in German? Kinda sounds like you're personifying it, but it works in Norwegian
Yes, it works, henbruas.
works in english too I'd say
remember the order of time-manner-place with the handy phrase "irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann"
"but it didn't want to start"
So uh waito, does that mean that I should swap the "zu Fuß" and "zur Arbeit"?
You tell us.
Arrem staph.
There won't be anyone to give you hints when you're actually speaking on your own. Try it. 😉
owo
"Sie will nicht zu Fuß zur Arbeit gehen, weil sie viel lieber fahren würde, aber ihr Auto wird nicht starten."
"aber ihr Auto wird nicht starten"
SHE CAN SEE THE FUTURE!
OH YEAH
Nice copypasting.

I... see... bread people... 🥖
I like pain 🍞
🚗 🤷
lol stop
lol sentence
SANG
NO SOLET WHY
🔮
"Sie will nicht zu Fuß zur Arbeit gehen, weil sie viel lieber fahren würde, aber ihr Auto startet nicht." There. I didn't predict the future now.
Good job. But disappointing. Future telling Floppser is better.
Does it sound really off to a native if you mix up time-manner-place?
So Flops, what about that nicht. Is it in the right position? If so, why, if not, why and where would you move it?
That was I waaaaas going to ask.
Which nicht 🤔
I'm the one asking questions here. 😛

"Sie will nicht zu Fuß zur Arbeit gehen, <- that nicht
She doesn't want to walk to work today because she'd much rather drive, but her car won't start.
So.
I think it's that she doesn't want to walk.
I just said that she doesn't want to walk to work.
bei Fuß? plz no ban
Auf FuB
No Flops, unless she's a dog, she's not going bei Fuß.
"bei Fuß" is a command you give to dogs.

why though?
So, we've seen some of your thoughts about the position of the nicht. Can we have your final answer please? 😛
Banniere.
Lol if I look up "heel!" In dict.cc it gives no results but if I look up "bei Fuß!" It says "heel!"
okay... interesting...
lol what
And why would that be better than what you have now?
i think its because bei here is being translating as "along"
rather than by as in "reason of"
What do you want it to emphasize in the German sentence?
The gehen?
Is that a question or an answer?
An answer.
So she generally doesn't want to go?
She doesn't want to go to work on foot.
Wait.
She doesn't want to go on foot but still wants to go to work.
Correct.
So, before "zu Fuß"?
Is that a question or an answer?
Same. Answer.
How sure are you?
Almost 100%.
Kick if you're wrong? 😄
jesus whai
Jesus won't help you with your German.
Definitely not 100% then. 😛
Yeah.
She said "almost", Arrem. 😛
^
But yes, it is indeed correct. You're only negating the zu Fuß part, because she does want to go to work. 😉
wooooo
Now the complete sentence again.
No copypastaing.

"Sie will nicht zu Fuß zur Arbeit gehen, weil sie viel lieber fahren würde, aber ihr Auto startet nicht." waito I just wrote that earlier. I was correct all along?
Lovely. That took 3 days and 46 minutes.
were you correct, flappsy?
Nice, you got it.
Woooo. 🎉
"The flopping Flopsy's translation took so long that everyone died."
You can take the artistic freedom to translate that as floppend
WHY ARREM ;u;
because you have to learn
"I am Fläppers and I need 3 days to translate a sentence because I put it off every time."
lol perfect description of mine
To feel the german way of life, you need to wörk all day
Translate it, Fläppers. 😛
-> Arrem's: "Die floppend Übersetzung der Flopsy dauerte so lange, dass jedermann starb."
I feel like a declension is missing there.
I feel like a declension is missing there
Yes, on "floppend"
Knew it. Floppende?
Evening people and foxes
o/

Hi

Is it Flopsy's flopping translation or flopping Floppsy's translation?
Yes. But what you're saying now is Flopsy's flopping translation.
God genitive coming again.
"Die Übersetzung der floppender Flopsy dauerte so lange, dass jedermann starb."
How to click the enter touch too soon.
Do you know the soft endings and when to use them, fläppers?
Nope.
https://i.imgur.com/mNyO7aZ.png Learn that by heart.

^^That's how we decline adjectives properly. We can't just always plop an -er and call it a day. 😛
👀
Just read that document, it's a lot less work than just straight up memorizing that whole table
Or use Mitch's flowchart if you prefer that
Now question. When do you use those soft endings?
Now answer. Keep scrolling. It's explained in the table below. 😛
So how do we apply it? The soft endings work directly with definite articles.
Okay. And although not wrong 'jedermann' is a bit too strong here.
Would you say only "jeder"?

Well I'm not the one who's supposed to be saying stuff here, am I now? 😛 What would you say? 😄
Und @pine ginkgo ich lerne doch, auch unter euch 😛
I dunno Arrem.
@sudden panther gib sentence for translates
I found a quintuple gummy worm
Then do jeder. 😉 Or alternatively alle.
Wow what.
That hand has only four fingers ö
:o
"Die Übersetzung der floppenden Flopsy dauerte so lange, dass jeder starb."
IDK. Korea give Ari a sentene.:P
Sneak, that's God like.
Now do Mika's, Flopsel.
Yes okay.
"I am Fläppers and I need 3 days to translate a sentence because I put it off every time."
Mika's.
On the 10th of october ten tame goats pulled ten tons of sugar to the zoo
We need something with a lot more subordinate clauses methinks
I'm watching you.
Put it off as "proscatinating"?
Yes.
Procrastinating.
@placid heath Am 10. Oktober haben zehn zahme Böcke zehn Tonnen Zucker in den Zoo gezogen.
oh
prostateinating
I forgot a word
And look for a synonym for 'Böcke' ;)
Oh lol, I missed that. 😂
why @placid heath
For alliteration
is Böcke not a good word
Alliterations^^
We're trying to Z to the max.
ok
Das ist aber ein Sägebock
Zieben?
"use past simple", sed arrim and wos ignored
Zieben?
"ich bin Fläppers und ich brauche 3 Tage einen Satz zu übersetzen, weil ich immer es zögere"
looks to eventual typos because there are always here 👀
Zwiebeln*
Zehn zahme Zwiebeln?
Mmmh, das reicht für zig Portionen Kässpätzle
ok, nächsten Satz
sed flops being ignored
In order to, Flops.
@placid heath aber ich will das nicht 😦
Ah.
Zehn zahme Zwiebeln in den Zähnen gesteckt
That's all I'll say.
Doch.
Wow Arrem.
Der Satz funktioniert mit allen Wörten mit Z am Anfang, außer dem ersten Wort
Und ich kenne auch das Präteritum von ziehen nicht.
Ich ziehe, ich zog, ich habe gezogen
Zehn Zoktober.
Okay, als nächstes: in den.
zum
✅
"Ich bin Fläppers und ich brauche 3 Tage, um einen Satz zu übersetzen, weil ich immer es zögere." Is this it Arrem?
no
lol fail
Jetzt: 10. Oktober. Das kann man auf Deutsch auch anders sagen :)
Better.
Weeee.
Zieben
Zieben
conclusion: solet saying no actually means that it's true
But zögern is intransitive. Which means that it doesn't take an object. You can zögern, but you can't zögern something. See if you can find a better verb.
ich copy paste lel

and i say still, even though i haven't seen the previous attempts
AriZona
Am zehnten Zehnten zogen zehn zahme Ziegen zehn Zentner Zucker zum Zoo.
Super! Und jetzt machst du ein Vocaroo daraus :P
-> when you see words but which one you would pick eeeh
ich bin im Unterricht lel

Na gut, dann eben nicht. :D
Maybe not the 48275838583937th one Flops
You are allowed to do it later if you do it 10 times in a row
Yeah tru Arrem
Yes, I do all of those words
Someone wants a B level sentence?
D0 it
I am not B yet
Although they were able to use the apparatus of the lungs, diaphragm, trachea, and throat, these creatures could not use completely the articulation apparatus, even though their lips, palate, and tongues were built very similar to humans.
Oh god nvm

@shy bobcat You only did it once

Ziegen ist etwas kurz ausgesprochen :)
hab ich dann "Ziggen" gesagt?
I'm probably going to use the wrong synonym for 80% of the words in Base's sentence
Ich höre etwas zwischen Zieckn und Ziggn
Und bei Zoo am Ende sprichst du das o mit leichtem Akzent aus^^
bei Zoo hatte ich schon aufgegeben, deutsch zu klingen 🤣
Aber sonst klingt das echt gut^^
How is it C2?
read it and tell me why it's not
It's mostly vocab, for which you've the internet.
Floppso, found anything better?
Nope.
It's one of the words in that pic.

Although they were able to use the apparatus of the lungs, diaphragm, trachea, and throat, these creatures could not use completely the articulation apparatus, even though their lips, palate, and tongues were built very similar to humans.
Obwohl sie die Lungen-, Zwerchfell-, Luftröhren- und Halsapparate haben nutzen können, konnten diese Wesen nicht völlig den Lautbildungsapparat nutzen, auch wenn ihre Lippen, Gaumen und Zungen sehr ähnlich mit denen der Menschen gebaut waren.
I'm 99 percent sure I didn't use the right word for "apparatus".
and it's not auf die lange Bank schieben
Obwohl means although too? TIL.
What else does it mean? 🤔

you know that already
was thinking about "even though"
you said the same the last time we had that word
Those are pretty much synonyms.
AH.
And also, less TILing, more translating, you slacker.
but which word do I use Arrememe.
@sudden panther I'll take your emojis to mean, yes, I didn't use the right word?
Also I don't slack. 🤔
trotzdem, statt, anstatt, obwohl... Sondern...
I guess they just TL;DR'd it because it is a wall of text :D
that's the point 🤔
Obwohl sie die Lungen-, Zwerchfell-, Luftröhren- und Halsapparate haben nutzen können, konnten diese Wesen nicht völlig den Lautbildungsapparat nutzen, auch wenn ihre Lippen, Gaumen und Zungen sehr ähnlich mit denen der Menschen gebaut waren.
BUT LET'S CONCENTRATE NOW.
zu lange, lese ich nicht
Apparat sounds strange in that context. But I'm not doctor
There's a beginning to everything Solet uwu
Der Apparat schläft nie ein.
🙀
@placid heath so minus Apparat it sounded ok then?
Something has to be there, but idk what would fit
No I mean
"prokastinieren" lol actually it exists
Maybe even Apparat. But idk if that works xD
Here is a simpler one for Mitch or whomever: Two chickens walked around the kitchen, one black and the other colourful, gently scratching the floor with their clawed feet.
Was the rest of it fine besides that one word
like, assuming that's the right word, is the rest of the grammar good
Das mit im letzten Satz klingt überflüssig
1/4 way there.
Zaudern? 🤔
also ...ähnlich mit denen der Menschen..?
Also intransitive.
Why do you choose the bottom one first and not the top, flappy?
Dammit.
ähnlich denen der Menschen
- Make a guess
- Look it up on wiktionary and see if it says transitiv or intransitiv.
- If it's transitiv, you win.
facepalms
see this is how you learn 😄
And I must sleep now. 😦
I guess, that's a special case? http://www.linguee.com/german-english/translation/ähnlich+denen+von.html
I guess we'll have to wait another day. As usual.
You only learn if you remember it 😐
Sleep well.
gn8
It's not my fault if my daddy is like "slep now"
That is why smartphones were invented, flappy
Nou, but you could have finished it long ago. 😛
ok so I've done korea's Z bullshit and base's science bullshit
more bullshit sentences 😄
Did you translate too, henbruas? 😮
No, I got spoiled, so it was kinda pointless
Sorry Arizona. 😢
Safe to say it would be extremely wrong
Which?
Arizona: Es trinkt das Warzenschweine viel zu viel vom schwarzen Weine (ignore the e's after the nouns)
Oh, that one
Two chickens walked around the kitchen, one black and the other colourful, gently scratching the floor with their clawed feet.
But you can freely change the sentence structure as long as it gives the same information.
@placid heath I already know about dative -e
anyway "the warthog drinks much too much of the dark wine"
Isn't Warzenschwein in nominative here? o: Or am i just stupid
🤔
it is
I didn't notice that
lel
I just read it as "Warzenschwein" 😛
didn't even see the e
No
Wer trinkt? Das Warzenschwein
The platform was now crowded with onlookers recording the scene from dozens of tiny cameras, people probably watching their viewer counts skyrocket as word spread across Blink that someone was about to be lightninged to death by an escaped mental patient.
Der Bahnsteig war jetzt dicht gedrängt von Schaulustigen, die die Szene mit Dutzenden von winzigen Kameran aufnahmen, und deren Videoansichten wahrscheinlich hochschossen, während die Nachricht sich um Blink herum sprach, dass ein ausgebrochener Geisteskranke bald jemanden mit Blitz töten wird.
I tried @opal sequoia
oh right, sorry. Too tired >.<
anyway
But you did not mention Blink? 😮
Would you use dicht gedrängt in this way?
can someone give a short, but difficult, sentence
I don't feel like doing along one
lel
read something like that in my book once
don't remember how it was exactly used mind you
Because there would be a difference between the people being crowded together, and the platform being crowded with people.
But i don't know in German.
hmm, I think "der bahnstieg war dicht voller Schaulustigen" might be better but idk
What the fuck is "clawed" in German? I can only seem to find the "to have been clawed" and not the "to have claws" form
"clawed feet"
Benagelt?
what are clawed feet anyway
Feet that have claws?
wouldn't those just be claws?
🤔
I would call a bird's feet claws, for example
But they are clawed feet.
that implies to me that they are like human feet but in the shape of claws
like how you can describe hands to be like claws
yeah, I guess you're right, just seems easier to call them "claws" or "hooves"
Oh, I didn't notice it was from your sentence lol
This sentence was harder than I thought it would be
Makes sense in the context what it's emphasising
Yes, henbruas. I picked it for B level. 😄
So you're doing a good job attempting it, really.
I don't think I've seen the equivalent of the "one black and the other colourful," structure in German before. A literal translation from Norwegian would be "die eine schwarz, die andere bunt,". Is that anywhere close?
that looks right
Sounds like an idiom
Hey! Could you guys tell me how to say "It has already been 9 months since I started learning German."?
The English or the German, Korea?
The english
Ahh, it isn't.
Well more like: Es ist 9 Monate her, dass ich angefangen habe Deutsch zu lernen
Danke sehr!
Kein Ding
Two chickens walked around the kitchen, one black and the other colourful, gently scratching the floor with their clawed feet.
Zwei Hühner, die eine schwarz, die andere bunt, haben um die Küche gegangen und haben sanft mit ihren Krallen den Fußboden gekratz.
I just went with "claws" instead of "clawed feet", and if there's fancy way to do the last tense I don't know it
Partizip 1, is that what it would be?
what would be?
To properly translate the last clause of that sentence?
I don't see a problem with what you did except the typo with the last word
*gekratzt
Yeah, that's a correct way to translate that structure.
Except it seems redundant to repeat "haben".
And when you say "The one black, the other colourful", what is the gender of the thing they're referring to?
Oh, I thought "Huhn" was feminine, but it's neuter
Even if it was: schwarz and bunt?
Isn't this predicative?
@opal sequoia Are you saying that it would be for example "Die Katzen, die eine schwarze, die andere bunte, [...]"?
Ok, that's what I'd expect
Okay, thanks.
Thanks for the sentence, base , it was fun 😃
No problem. I like to see people translate them.
I just wish I could be more helpful in correcting. One day though.
Who wants to help Arrim bullshit? Where can someone who's studied physics work.
Hmm. University. Hospital. Engineering related stuff. Probably any job that requires basic mathematical modeling and stuff like that.
I did engineering and now I'm a web developer 🤷
Hello.

Base is a smart lad. Thanks. 👌
Yeah, who doesn't want to be a high school physics teacher
We got a shortage of physics teachers
Lots of the physics guys from my uni apparently go into finance
according to my friend who is looking for head-of-department jobs age 26
Mm, banks.
I've been asked to do a presentation of

at my old highschool. So I opened the physics course description and look how wonderful their job prospectives section is.
Das Bachelorstudium vermittelt auch eine fundierte Vorbildung für Berufe, die auf den nachhaltigen Grundlagenkenntnissen aufbauen. Die Breite der Grundlagenausbildung eröffnet den Absolvent_innen ein weites Betätigungsfeld mit ausgezeichneten Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten und zukunftsträchtigen Perspektiven vor allem im naturwissenschaftlich technischen Bereich.
That's all they said. 😂
Wow.
Tell them that.
A physics job gives you opportunities.
Probably science related opportunities.
tl;dr: lol, we don't know where you can work, either
but we'll be really enthusiastically apathetic 👍

Is TU Wien good for computer science? Are there any unis in Germany or Austria that are particularly well regarded for computer science?
Most unis teach comp science I'd say
Ehehe. Can confirm tho. My cousin studies physics and every year at the Karrieremesse people just ask him if he can program.. 😂
lol^^
@lavish saddle Well sure, that's a given
well regarded however 🤷
Meanwhile I had trouble finding a company that didn't look for IT.
I know a lot of the special schools(Fachhoch Schule) are known for this (in Austria)
in what ways? 😄
@crystal delta Is that sanskrit
@cold vessel Technical University of Munich (ranked 40th in the world for computer science)
there is the perp!
Our object oriented modelling prof is also the dean for Wirschaftsinformatik. Every now and then he'd throw in a subtle reference about how much better WINF was at TU than at UniWien. 😅
Also while searching for Informatik pics, I found out that I was in the news. I'm the guy in blue who they blurred out.
iwasnervousandconcentratedokay
Arrem exposed
And you look so blurry. Were you alright? ^^
Ehehehe. Man I wasn't alright at all when I did it. It all went well tho. 😍
These are the unis my uni cooperate with for exchanges:

Our Robotik/Telematik Prof greeted all the new students (generally all who do something related to Computer Science) and showed some of the things they do. Because we have a selfmade satellite in space he obviously had to mention that^^ But then he also felt the urge to shit on TU München because "we launched it together with a satellite from TUM back in 2013. Theirs didn't even boot". yuck XD
And for Austria: https://i.imgur.com/eVIUFOi.png
T Y S K L A N D
@cold vessel Try the first one, it'll be funny when they ask where you study
TU Graz, Cool
well, the munich one is apparently pretty high on the popularity list
Augsburg is also nice
Yeah, TUM is nice.
is still love tho. ❤
Tbh, I would have tried to go there if I had more of a choice
(TU Wien)
But JKU is pretty dope
Ich habe die Genehmigung erlangen, in Erlangen zu studieren
Hello
Only crappy thing is I might be too late in my degree to do an exchange
I am doing my master's now
Ops
XD
4th year student
Oh, then yeah maybe not
Hello @craggy nebula
🤔
Finish your studies at JKU, then become a prof at
and get your free citizenship. 😄
Lol x)
^^
I kinda like Linz though
I want to be a high school teacher in Germany
Like 😄 a lot
:v one day.
Any of you doing a Phd in Germany/Austria by any chance? 😛
I'll teach germans DaF
Tbh, if I had to move from Linz, I'd probably cry haha
Fine. Become a prof at JKU and visit TU to share knowledge and memes.
Is there a short path for learning German? Like is there someone experienced here? The cold start of the german language is a bit annoying >< I don't know how to learn the vocabulary without getting bored :/
'Üben, Üben, Üben' :)
is there really a short path to any language?
something something man lernt nie aus
Compared to German, English is amazingly easy in the beginning.
English? I'd say 1 year you can have a pretty good basis on it....2 years fluent probably...all depends on how much you study and use it
But it's all about using it 🤔
Intermadiate English is easier than intermediate German... but both languages are equally mind-boggling in advanced levels.
Shortcut: find things you like and do them in German.
I learned it in about 2-4 months, and fluently. The problem with German is, I cannot seem to find a way to start
C1 English is harder than C1 Deutsch is what my teacher said.
dunno how true is that
🤔 dunno about that
C2 English is reeeeally hard from what I've heard.
but the take-off with English is a fairly easy one for sure
boah Arrem kannst du mal das t endlich in deinen Satz einbauen, bittööö? ❤
Yeah, but isn't C2 with German also extremely hard?
German is a bit like eating glass
ban arrem, catto

No, I really like learning German. ☹
@lavish saddle Yes, I'm just saying they're probably around the same difficulty level by C2
Yeah, I can see that for sure
I also like learning German, but I have few resources to learn from, such as dictionaries
u mir leid caoooo, hab's nich gesehen ❤
AAAAAA warum xD
you have to know the language inside and out for C2 fluency in it
English is fairly easier than german
I'm just saying things I've heard though, I have no evidence to back it up
Did you try #resources ?
As how my professor said: 2000 hours of german, equals 1500 hours of english, which equals 1000 hours of any romance language.
I've never even tried proficiency exams in English
C00kiie, what level are you currently on?
That seems about right 🤔
IDK. I just took IELTS and took 9
Ban me, cat to.
I think French is right up there with German too though
J'aime les baguettes
I bet the Khajitians can.
maybe I'd be between C2 and C1 on english
Niemals 💔
❤
well fellas, the good news is you will not study arabic XD
hala ana almani
it's too hard.
How do you know cookie?
Some people on here probably do study it
I speak arabic fluently
saw some people talking about it the other day
but it's hellish
So?
Some languages are just overdone tbh
أحب الميمات
Some people enjoy a challenge
What do you mean, gman?
well, I'd rate arabic to be 2-5x (depending on your native language) harder than german.
What about Polish, cookie?
It's also hard, I'd say
^^ There goes the Polish fanboy
I only know two words in polish
Well I just like to know since they seem of similar difficulty from what I've heard.
And both of them are insults. :D
Yeah, but if you wanna do it, Base 😄 you can
Well... let me tell you why arabic is hard
you just gotta put the time into it :3
I will.
Don't say that near @nocturne spruce or he'll lecture you about arabic being mathematics.
🎉
True, cryptic.
ktab = book
kootb = books
katb = writer (writing books)
yaktb = is writing
mktaba = library
yo-ktab = is written / writing
and so on
bs
Wow my language is the easiest ever :v Shiet
Chinese is fairly easier than arabic on grammar and voices, but not on the writing system
the writing system of arabic is simple and consistent, and now stare at the abyss of learning chinese... 2,000 letter.. XD
I will learn all those languages.
Hebrew is harder than German?
German is harder than german
It's not about difficulty; it's a measure of time required.
Isn't that difficulty
That doesn't inherently translate to difficulty.
when you try to be wise, but you are actually a poet of words.
sächsisch is harder than german
oh ja 😮
Some concepts may be easy to use and understand but have more content.
What about Russian guys?
A new alphabet for example.
@placid heath 's dialect is harder than German
Russian guys like vodka
Haschn Problem Kryptik? Willsch de Ranze voll?
Well, I don't understand the coherent reason behind the languages complexity
If cavemen had internet languages wouldnt be so hard
Ew, interpreting poems
Now I've got 5/15 points, the lowest score possible in my german Abitur :D
One shouldn't be punished for not interpreting a poem lol, that's unfair
Ach was, du wirst bestimmt dein Leben lang Gedichte interpretieren müssen Lord :^)
poems in arabic are like trying to understand qunatum mechanics
Ne, nie wieder
Do you know quantum mechanics, cookie?
alter, pack deinen schulranzen mal aus, korea
But 15/15 in maths, comp sci, physics and 12 in english. :D
der ist ja immer voll bei dir
I do
🎉
The really important things in life.
Oh, you're a physicist?
