I spent a bit of money on my keyboard but I got a high quality one, that will last a long time, looks nice, and I can customise the feel and sound of the keys, as well as using better quality keycaps that don't fade from use. And you also don't have to worry about certain keys breaking or getting soft because you can just replace that individual key.

Like I am quite happy using a basic $5 keyboard but the keys get mushy and stop working really fast.

It feels wasteful to use those cheap ones because even one key breaks and you basically have to buy a whole new keyboard.

And it's all plastic.
