Pasé por una catástrofe

Qué horror
YAYYYYY my "Post to avicii" mnemonic worked!!! so good at this language
учим српски врло врз, добро ми је језик и сад победим у животу :3
Postaviti by itself is to pose, right (set up what’s been tipped over), or set up
I does appear in the collocation postaviti pitanje ‘to pose a question’
Because pitati ‘to ask’ would sound dumb
Pitati is the normal word
With double accusative objects for both who and what’s being asked
Pitao sam ga to
Учим српски врло брзо, добар ми је језик и сад побеђујем у животу
I’m learning Serbian very quickly, the language is good for me (not really sure the intent behind the phrase) and now I’m winning in life
So adverbs are just the neuter form of the adjective (often accentuated differently though), jezik is masculine, and pobijediti is perfective whereas pobjeđivati is imperfective
I take it you haven’t covered that yet though 😅
ohhh like "eine frage stellen"
instead of "eine frage fragen"
ive heard like "Dobro mi je srpski" as "My serbian is good" so
Yeah exactly
If that’s the case it’d be wrong
Dobar mi je srpski
dobar??
maybe i misheard it as dobro
oh i see i thought it was neutral
Any adjective in -ski is masculine
i see
wait so hows that different?
i havent covered it no
Basically for nouns in the nominative singular
Consonant endings are by default masculine, -a is feminine and -o/e is neuter
Then adjectives will have the same endings, although masculine singular can end in -i which is the definite form
Pobijediti - to win (once, „having won”)
Pobjeđivati - to win (repeatedly, „winning”)
Pobijedili smo drugu ekipu i ustoličili se kao pobjedioci velikog turnira - We beat the other team and enshrined ourselves as the winners of the grand tournament
Pobjeđivala nas je druga ekipa, a u tren oka okrenuli smo igru naglavu s najboljom obranom moje karijere - The other team was beating us, but in the blink of an eye we turned the game upside-down with the best defence of my career
oh right, do most verbs have that?
All verbs have it, think of it like German prefixed verbs but obligatory and even stricter in terms of the delineation
oh wow how can u tell what the verb will look like for that or is it random, seems tiring 😭
So in general without mixing adverbs into the mess, most present tense verbs will be imperfective as they’re continuous, and most past/future verbs will be perfective
Assuming short simple sentences
But ofc any combination is possible
You can dw but it depends on the root, it’s a very intuitive system though
i see, alright then
For some roots the default is imperfective, eg. kočiti koga/što ‘to brake’, and you’ll form various perfective derivatives from that using prefixes, eg. kočiti > zakočiti koga/što ‘to brake’ (to a halt)
So again examples
Kočio sam auto kad mi izleti neki bajo na skuteru, i Isuse, maltene sam ga pregazio - I was braking when some jackass on a scooter flies, and Jesus, I almost ran him over
Ali hvala Bogu, zakočio sam se na vrijeme - But thank God, I braked on time
ok that makes sense but with the other examples, like pobediti and pobeđivati is it predicting or like a completely new verb
It’s predictable
In this case the root is built on a perfective stem and augmented with a new ending to turn it imperfective
And you can do this multiple times
Since bijediti is actually its own verb, and is imperfective meaning to blame (usually baselessly)
So you have what is essentially bijediti > pobijediti > pobjeđivati
The third way is via ablaut (yes like the PIE one)
These ones are usually by default perfective but can be default imperfective, in which case the ablauted version has a sort of aspect like secret third thing going on
So eg. for a perfective root; skočiti ‘to jump’ > skakati ‘to be jumping’
So the ablaut is o > a
There’s also i > ije (in ijekavian but it causes lengthening in Serbian, just it isn’t written)
Preliti > prelijevati
right so theres no way to know or
hows it so different 😭 u cant remember that-
It’s regular
Weirdly enough
Cause k changes to č before i and e (sometimes a too)
So underlyingly it’s skok-iti and skak-ati
Case by case really, all the imperfective roots are verbs of motion
So you have
Sjesti - to sit down, sjediti - to be sitting, sjedati - to be in the process of sitting down into something
Leći - to lie down, ležati - to be laying down, lijegati - to be lying down onto something
oh jesus
That’s advanced stuff though
Just learn them as a pair (when there is one) and you’ll pick up the patterns with time
hopefully so
whats with those diacritics on the vowels?
Tone hahaha
Cause when you know which one is where you can more easily derive stuff using a template rather than having to memorise each form
- consequences for retracting the position of the accent
oh right thats annoying
And the koga/što kim/čim bit specifies that it can take two objects, the first of which being accusative, the second being instrumental
Okrunili su ga kraljem - They crowned him king
Although in Serbian they might say kao kralja or za kralja instead of an instrumental object
They don’t much like them

Hi
@sinful herald What should I learn first?
I already know like
Io
Tu
Lei Loi
Noi
Io voglio studiarte italiano
so
lei/lui*
Buena cera?
lui means him
buona sera*
Grazie Miller
mille*
The spelling is so different
yes
Io Soi?
?
Like I am
io sono
Damn
well
Io sono Christian
Io non parlo italino
"tu sei" you are
"lui è" he is
"lei è" she is
"noi siamo" we are
"voi siete" you are(plural)
I like that one
"loro sono" they are
We 7
Just kidding
Ok Grazie Mille
Me chamo Christian?
Llamo?
well
it's actually "MI chiamo" but
the accent we use in rome
can use "ME chiamo"
but its not italian
its not correct
this is the correct italian
want to see how many verb forms we have for each verb?
Sure
didn't you say like portugall earlier?
alr which verb?
Same language but not the same country
Have
alr
You are professional
that's only the verb to have
"presente" is present
"imperfetto" is past
"passato prossimo" is like
idk either man
let's be honest this many forms for a verb is stupidly useless
If I just wanna say " I have " ?
io ho
Yeah
Only "Ho"
but you gotta know them all
What is "egli"
yes it's correct, unlike german or english we don't ALWAYS use the "i, you..."
he/she/it
"Egli ha"
egli is like lui
Ah
he*
egli=lui=he
ella=lei=she
ella and lei are uses in different occasions
like egli and him
Italian is not easy as I used to thought
we also don't have a proper word for "it"
ye it's stupidly hard
you either know it as first lenguage or will have to study for years
I really just search it in Chat GPT
?
He says like "Eso"
nah
But no specific way
that's not real
maybe he means
"esso"
which yes it could be said
it's like egli or ella
it does work but you rarely use it
in italian we don't use often io, tu, egli, noi, voi, essi
Yeah, he sayed it
we often cut them out of phrases
Andare doesn't mean "walk"?
Oh
andare a camminare is go to walk
It's because in portuguese we say Andar = Walk and Caminhar also Walk
cool
We also say that
In portuguese
This is becaming more easy
Io vado
Tu Vai
Egli Va
Noi andiamo
Voi andate
Essi vanno
that's to go
Io vado a milano?
yes
Let's go!!!!!
but
À
it is correct
I guess
Do you speak spanish?
"andrò a milano" means i will go to milan
or "sto andando a milano" means "im going to milan"
What is "Sto"
it means you are going in this moment
it's
like
wait
in italian
we use
"to have" amd "to be" to help other verbs make sense
"sto" means am as in "i am in milan"
Is that like "Estoy"?
Io sto en Milano
both are correct i think but this is more correct
It's seen that you are milan
?
Like Milan is you
ye
nope
"io voglio ANDARE a milano"
you only apply the present form of a verb if there is a personal pronoun before it
Great
otherways you use the infinite form of it
well
"tutto bene?" you say it in case you see someone who clearly is not well
to make sure if he actually is NOT ok
you can use "come stai?" to say how are you
So learn how conjugate "Sto" is useful
We also use it in portuguese depends on the case
Like "Tudo bem"
or if someone has been not well and now you want to know how they are you say "come ti senti?" but come stai works fine
Come stai?
thats an extra step
Nice
Sto bene!
doing bad*
Now I can hold a VERY Simple converstion
not rlly
How can I say "I'm from Brazil"
i mean yea someone could understand
No idea
there is no translation for "im from" but you can say "i come from" or "i am brazilian"
which one would you use?
Like in german Ich komme aus Brasilien
I come from
"io vengo dal brasile" i come from brazil
Io vengo dal Brasile
"io sono brasiliano" i am brazilian
I preffer that one
How can I say that I'm 14 years old
How is 14 sayed
quattordici
In portuguese too
Io ho 14 anni
Genau!
them notes are usefull
i like the sound of zwanzig
Lmaos
im bad with conversations in all lenguages not bc i can't speak but bc idk what to say
not rlly
To ask me where I'm from
i just don't know what do ask you
In italian
Io sono brasiliano (I don't remember the oder)
Nice
"io vengo dal brasile"
can i suggest you something?
if you cut "io" off sentences you sound more italian
Quanti anni hai?
like "vengo dal brasile" instead of "io vengo dal brasile"
ho 16 anni
Ty, I just do that to don't forget which verb I'm conjugating
qual'è il tuo colore preferito?
Mi colore preferito se Rosa
No idea what I had write
Rosa means Red?
you could put "il" before rosa
no
Damn
rosa is pink
Roso?
rosso is red
How is red
blu is blue
I tried to say that
purple is viola
Bianco
Table!
verde is green
tavolo?
Idk
table means norhing in italian
I know the pronunciation but not the spelling
macchina can also be used as "machine"
Macchina
Auto is easier
yes
Io andare a Napoli
nope
Damn
I go
io vado a napoli
FUCKING VADO
AHHHH
WHEN I USE THAT SH#T IS WRONG BUT WHEN I DONT USE IS ALSO WRONG

Io voglio andare a Italia
"go" is RIGHT AFTER "i"
but if you say "io VOGLIO andare"
means
i WANT to go
then GO is not right after I
so "want" "volere" becomes "voglio" and go becomes andare
if a verb is right after a personal pronoun it gets that pronoun's form
Scuola?
if there is another verb in between it stays in infinite
yes
Let's gooooo
school is scuola
be carefull tho
scuola is a special word
like "cuore"
because
I dindt forget everything
What do you mean?
because if there is a c before a u we mostly use q
like quadro
"painting" is quadro
QUA
but in some worda
You chance the letter?
words
like "scuola" "cuore" or others
you use C
not Q
you just have to remember which words are those
and then there is water...
water uses BOTH
"acqua"

fr
i suggest you to get an actual teacher
italian is way too hard to learn like this
You are very good at teaching
not rlly😭
And I don't wanna master Italian as a priority
I start learn it for fun
not the best lenguage to learn for fun😭
How do I say "Learn"
imparare
Trust in me is better than swedish
What the hell
io imparo
tu impari
egli impara
noi impariamo
voi imparate
essi imparano
What about studiarte?
studiare*
io studio tu studi egli studia noi studiamo voi studiate

opaa okej: svet, vlada, podvodni, žurka, dok, kraj, mesto, način, sledeći, do
quite random words but yk
its a language theres bound to be no correlation to the words you learn lol
A kojim padezom upravlja do? Jesi i to zabilježila?
Podvodni je inače jedna od onih riječi koje su, a ne shvati me krivo time, korisne, a lagano raščlanjive kad im znaš korijene tako da se ne isplati toliko kad ih same naučiš
Pa bi ju ja možda raščlanio na dijelove; npr. pod + vod- + ni, i naučio ih odvojeno
genitive right??
Yussah
da, još uvek ne znam šta rade "cases" za reči ali to učiću sledeće vreme :D
Kako misliš šta radite padeže? Jel hoćeš reći da ih ne znaš izgraditi, ili da ne znaš šta oni rade u rečenici?
ne znam kako ih izgradim
Šta se njihovog značenja tiče, otp. možeš ravnati po ovoj ljestvici
Nominativ (tko/što) - onaj koji vrši radnju - Pas laje ‘The dog barks’, Pas jede hranu ‘The dog eats food’
Akuzativ (koga/što) - onaj koji trpi radnju - Imamo psa ‘We have a dog’
Dativ (komu/čemu) - onaj kojem se pridaje cilj radnje - Daju psu kost ‘They give the dog a bone’
Genitiv (koga/čega) - onaj koji posjeduje - To je vlasnik psa ‘This is the dog’s owner’
Vocative (oj/ej) - onaj kome se viče, koga se zaziva - Psu jedan! ‘You dog!’
Locativ (o kome/o čemu) - objekt statičnog prijedloga - Govorimo o psu ‘We’re talking about the dog’
Instrumental (kim/čim) - sredstvo (s) kojim se radnja vrši - Šećemo se sa psom ‘We’re on a walk with the dog’
Aha pa to je onda drugo pitanje koje zahtijeva drugo rješenje hahaha
Ima tablica na wikipediji
ahhhh mrzim "pas" 😭😭
Nepostojano a bi lajk
mislim da je da zaboravim sve krajeve za padeže jer je veoma mnogo 😭😭
sedam kada nemački ima samo četiri
Nastavke**
Krajevi su kao… regije valjda
Nemački - German
Nemačka - Germany
da was just spelling mistake ^-^
vidim okej
In any case it’s best to learn the normal masculine, feminine and neuter nouns by heart and then branch from there
I don’t like how wikipedia portrays it because you end up having 10 tables for masculine nouns when they all have the same endings in each case
Also the genitive plural of nokat is noktiju
So idk what they’re on
Yeah I’ve seen that one, it’s a good start
Cause like yeah you have most commonly regular masculine/neuter vs regular feminine vs feminine nouns in a consonant (includes misao and pogibao)
Then the other declensions are kinda marginal
I mean the most common extra ones are -t- and -n- stem neuters
Like drvo and ime
N. Drvo
G. Drveta
D. Drvetu
A. Drvo
V. Drvo
L. Drvetu
I. Drvetom
Jednina
N. Ȉme
G. Ȉmena
D. Ȉmenu
A. Ȉme
V. Ȉme
L. Ȉmenu
I. Ȉmenom
Množina
N. Imèna
G. Iménā
D. Inènima
A. Imèna
V. Imèna
L. Imènima
I. Imènima
oh dear god lmao i mean it cant fit it all in
I. Im'a
R.Imeni
D.Imeni
V. Im'a
T. Imenem
P. Ob imeni
xD the Russian version
Plural
Imena
Im'on
Imenam
Imena
Imenami
Ob imenax
I mean tbh it’s just -et- or -en- attached to the root then followed by the normal neuter gender case endings
yeah but still hard to remember it all xD
je moguće da znam ali još uvek teško 🤷🏻♀️
Moguće je*
In any case I would say it like this
Moguće je za znati…
That isn’t standard though, at least in Croatia
But people use it
Cause moguće da XYZ can mean maybe
So the way you have it now is like I might know
There’s tells though dw
And the really hard classes like s stems and r stems only have a few words each so you can just learn memorise them
Like the r stems are literally just mati and kći
And the s stems can all take a regular neuter plural instead of the s stem one, so like both nebesa and neba + čuda and čudesa are grammatically correct
what happen
