A lot of Dutch people complain that foreigners never try to learn Dutch when they come here. And even if they speak Dutch very poorly, Dutch people often are very welcoming. And unlike Germans, Dutch people generally don't point out people's mistakes when they speak Dutch, because they are glad they at least attempt to speak it, because so many foreigners don't.

It takes time and honestly a lot of stupid moments but don't let that discourage you since you are doing a great thing trying to learn some 90 million people's native language
