You can check your Mic in the Discord settings and hear yourself there. Maybe you need to lower the mic sensitivity if you sound a bit choppy

Mary ist schwanger. In der Hamburger Praxis „Andocken“ wird die Frau aus Ghana von einer Hebamme untersucht – anonym. Denn sie hat keine Aufenthaltserlaubnis und keine Krankenversicherung. Eigentlich heißt sie nicht Mary, aber ihren richtigen Namen will sie nicht sagen. Sie weiß: Wenn man sie entdeckt, droht ihr die Abschiebung.

Eine Rückkehr nach Ghana wäre gefährlich für sie und ihr Baby. Mary hat nur noch eine Niere und könnte dort nicht ausreichend medizinisch versorgt werden. Deshalb möchte sie unbedingt in Deutschland bleiben. Mitglieder einer Kirchengemeinde kümmern sich um sie, aber eine Wohnung hat sie nicht. „Es ist die Hölle“, sagt Mary zu Maike Jansen, der Hebamme, die sie und das Baby untersucht.

Zwar haben sie im Notfall ein Recht auf eine anonyme Behandlung im Krankenhaus, doch oft funktioniert das System nicht richtig. Die Sozialarbeiterin Maria José Guillén Ramirez berichtet von ihren Erfahrungen mit Krankenhäusern: „Wenn es ein Notfall ist, müssen sie die Leute aufnehmen, aber es gibt Krankenhäuser, die das nicht machen.“ Eine sichere Möglichkeit sind nicht-staatliche Initiativen wie die Praxis „Andocken“. Dort werden die Menschen anonym und kostenlos behandelt.

Legale Drogen wie Alkohol und Zigaretten gehören für viele Menschen ganz selbstverständlich zum Alltag. Aber der Konsum dieser Drogen kann schnell zur Sucht werden. Laut einer Studie aus dem Jahr 2018 sind vier Millionen Deutsche süchtig nach Nikotin, 1,6 Millionen sind alkoholabhängig. Besonders auf dem Land ist Alkohol das häufigste Suchtmittel.

In den Städten spielen außerdem auch illegale Drogen eine große Rolle. Zum Beispiel ist der Konsum von Kokain in Berlin, Hamburg, München und Dortmund so hoch, dass dort Spuren der Droge im Abwasser gefunden wurden. Immer öfter haben die Mitarbeiter von Beratungsstellen mit Menschen zu tun, die gleichzeitig von mehreren Drogen abhängig sind.

Der Kampf gegen die Drogensucht kostet Geld. Diese Kosten tragen vor allem die Kommunen: Sie betreiben Beratungsstellen und unterstützen Suchtkranke, die ihre Arbeit oder ihre Wohnung verloren haben. Auch Familienmitglieder von Betroffenen brauchen oft Hilfe. Das gilt besonders für Kinder, deren Eltern ein Suchtproblem haben.

Im November 2019 hat die Drogenbeauftragte der Bundesregierung, Daniela Ludwig, Vertreter der Kommunen zu einer Konferenz eingeladen. Dabei wurde darüber diskutiert, wie die Zahl der Drogenabhängigen gesenkt werden kann. Ein wichtiges Mittel wäre die Prävention, um zu verhindern, dass Menschen überhaupt Drogen nehmen. Aber für solche Programme fehlt den meisten Kommunen das Geld.
