PTS backlight always on

So having an odd issue where the backlight is staying on no matter what I change.

• Switch it off a restart the watch, still comes back on right from boot
• Can't change brightness levels
• Doesn't time out, just constantly on

It is paired via the Core app and is running the newest firmware

All other functionality is fine, it's really odd

maybe water damage caused a short?

it does sound an awful lot like there being continuity somewhere that there shouldn't be

Hmm. It's an Ebay find and looks perfect

Does turning off the backlight (in settings->display->backlight) switch it off?

Also just noticed that the backlight is actually brighter than my KS one

mmm, hardware fault probably. Try a factory reset to rule out a firmware issue

I did during the setup as pairing was stuck at negotiating, but can again

Yep, most likely.

If it were mine I’d pull it apart and see if there’s any obvious water damage or similar causing it.
