  • Incredible lag whilst running through Wakening Lands / Trakanon's Teeth / Emerald Jungle

Not sure if its an issue with foliage? Everything is fine when I turn down the clipping plane in these zones but I don't feel like I should even have to do that. There is no choppy gameplay while running through any other zone besides these.

I currently have 2 different P99 client builds. The one I most recently downloaded is much smoother and I don't run into the choppiness in the zones listed above.... BUT my mouse turn is 60% slower and whenever I am levitating I am bobbing at the speed of light. Those two things alone are enough to turn me off from using it...

I'm trying to figure out how to find the perfect mix of files between my original install, where my mouse turn is fast and everything is compelling, (except for these zones) and this newer build that seems to have smoothness down pat. Anyone who knows the ins and outs of the everquest directory and the files inside of it please feel free to entertain me with different ideas I can test.

Have you installed upgraded texture files for Kunark? Not sure why just those 3 zones would be causing you an issue but larger assets do contribute to lag

My only idea is that its from the sheer amount of shrubbery in that zone

does it change dramatically if you turn off the spell and song effect options entirely?
