#Allies should not be allowed to grief your landmines

There's currently 3 parties that can shoot down your landmines
1: You
2: The enemy
3: Your teammates
The first two are fine. If you shoot your own mines you can detonate them pre - emptively to dump some damage in an area. If the enemy shoots down your landmines that's just game design. In either case they still explode and deal damage as they should

The third is where it gets dumb. Your allied plasma bomber capable of deleting your carefully placed patch of landmines. Same applies to allied CAS or UMRL. Please fix this

Frankly I'm not sure why i specified the AOE weapons. I guess it's because they're more likely to accidentally delete your mines while targeting enemies

#

Technically the single shot weapons including gauss can also target and kill them

#

Just prevent all teammate damage from being able to kill your landmines

Mines do trigger if they had enough time to prime themselves.

But yeah kinda annoying that you just prepared a deathbed for the enemy and an allied nova gives a less damaging outcome for merely trying to help out.

It's specifically your allies deleting your landmines. They don't even explode if damaged that way

Also because I am always loading my UMRL for the potential enemy which could come from a corner at any time, I accidently delete someone's minefield while doing prefire.
I always felt quite ashamed.

It certainly feels like it, anyway

potent pulsar

Are you sure they had enough time to arm?

drifting quest

Might be confirmation bias, just detonated an allied mine to test and it seemed to explode

#

No enemy was in the vicinity though, so couldnt test if that dealt any dmg

I will gladly test it out with you today if we find a 3rd player willing to test on a isolated part of the map!

(Solved:
We tested with allied flux to trigger the mines.
They went boom and ruined my paintjob.)

What about making it impossible for both you and your allies to detonate yoir mines with gunfire, and giving the minelayer a separate trigger that detonates all mines manually?

nope, best would be ro remove the mines ^^

what secondary should the starterbots have then?

I don't think they are a viable starter secondary, most prefabs come with flares.

drifting quest
#

they are a viable starter secondary

#

more so than landmines tbh

#

landmines often get used by the newbies as a reactionary tool and it just really doesnt work like that

#

rockets are a lot more straightforward to understand, there's no setting up damage on chokepoints where the enemy might end up in the next 20 seconds, just point at the enemy and the rocket flies towards them

#

it's about as beginner friendly as a secondary gets

I guess someone could build a prefab bot with such loadout to see how often it gets choosen over other ground units.
