#Using an UMRL feels miserable!

Ever since its damage has been reduced UMRL feels terrible to use.

Ai-bots take too long to dispose of and you barely pose a serious threat to others.

Using an UMRL bot today means heavy reliance that your secondary weapon can do the job too!

When it comes to ground to air or air to air combat, going for airborne targets doesn't feel rewarding at all. You are constantly feeling pressured to never miss your shots because the enemy will always kill you faster except they are also using UMRL.

Before, you felt like you can always try again if you missed your shot too, but now due to the mediocre damage-output, you beat yourself up in the inside everytime you miss one of them. The current dps feels like that you are expected to hit more shots then you can fire.

Knowing that bursts of high damage were the main concern which got UMRL in the position it is today, instead of suggesting to revert the nerf, I want to recommend an increase in reload speed instead.

Slight buff to reload speed feels reasonable I think; they are not terrible IMO and burst was deservedly nerfed, but sustained DPS is a bit low now

The windup is comically long

they're still far worse than the other weapons by far, having been only practical on things that fly and can utilize either distance or vertical cover, which can make them feel fustrating to fight. Otherwise, the abysmal dps makes them feel awful to use on a ground bot

like this is the disparity in damage dealt between me and bonebreaker

rivet rifle vs UMRL

tbh it was a dogfight and you were mostly too far away to predict your flightpath correctly.

still think rail is worse, UMRL feels strong enough on air atleast, the damage instance itself is still pretty high if you are taking good trades.

#

But yeah takes a while to load and little sustain.

I feel like aircraft/hybrids just have a decent advantage on most maps, and the way UMRL works lends it well to use on planes. Gauss on blimps and the such also seemingly works well but suffers from DPS same as the UMRL, the issue is the UMRL is much easier to counter and avoid (chaff blocks the projectiles and you can see the shots coming from a mile away)

#

UMRL is only good when you can utilize cover at medium distances to your target to charge then peak and shoot

I am leaning towards rivet being the best weapon though, its amazing at degunning (with hp changes) & bursting cores, aswell as having decent ranged damage.
has range, has alpha, has good accuracy for sniping parts and a good instance of damage, very well rounded.

but agreed aircraft hybrids are very good.

I do feel like a reload speed buff would certainly help UMRLs, maybe even just increase the rate of the first load of shots (ex. the first 2/3 loads charge faster and the last 4/3 loads a bit slower in comparison) so one isn't defenseless(ish) against targets that close-in fast. And tbh the air vs ground disparity is kinda the same with other weapons like nova and gauss, plus the current gamemode favours close-quarters fights with the cap points.

I think hybrids are strongest overall rn but yeah I can see UMRL not being too great on pure ground

#

disregarding hybrids ground is generally stronger but specifically in a brawling role, which requires DPS

alpine cosmos
#

hybrids are weaker then pure tanktrack damage sponges

mighty cliff
#

yea weaker but more flexible

#

I think their ability to reach cap points faster is overall better though

#

albeit depends on the team matchup, sometimes just parking a brick on the objective is the best thing to do

vale meteor
#

very flexible, I think it'll be a massive difference when we see a game mode that isn't sitting on a point. So much faster and you can get to anywhere, and you can still keep pretty strong armor

alpine cosmos
#

The moment the main gamemode isn't sitting still then yes.
The moment the AMP changes roll in, one is unable to tell.

mhmm, we'll see

UMRLS also have horrible hitboxes/detonation if fired ground to ground

#

I try to hit enemy bots and the rockets just eat the ground instead

#

A ground bot basically physically cannot utilise UMRLS anywhere outside of close range due to them constantly landing on the floor in front of the enemy, and can't hit air for obvious reasons

#

So it's kind of exclusively an air-to-ground weapon, which honestly just makes it nova cannons but worse

mighty cliff

they just instantly collide with the ground and explode even if I aim up a bit
