I ASSUME is a process stuck in a cyclical call. That SHOULD be a dll, but can expand beyond that. Dll is the easiest to dig. I am unfamiliar with Fo3, dust, or the plugin structure. I ASSUME the kit is nearly the same if not the same, so I will go based on that. Check your tool and utility versions and check your mod requirements. Script extender is a tool that uses a dll, Showoff is a utility that uses a dll...those 2 there for an example of the files to double check 1st. Hang ups are front end loaded which would be the framework for your mods, so I am wagering...with what you provided, that would be the best place to start.

There can be countless reasons for that. I would suggest you try the following:

  • Fallout New Vegas NEEDS to be installed outside of any and all Windows factory folders. This means that Fallout New Vegas CANNOT be installed anywhere within a "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" folder, Documents, your Desktop, or any other Windows factory folder. If you have the game installed in one of these folders or any subfolder, then you cannot mod Fallout New Vegas. You will need to completely uninstall the game and relocate the game installation. Having the game installed within Program Files or Program Files (x86) WILL prevent you from modding the game; I promise you. In fact, you should never have a game located there.
  • Navigate to your Windows Settings > Windows Security > App & browser control > Exploit protection settings > "Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR)". Set this setting to "Use default (Off)".
  • Disable the Overwolf game overlay if you use it. Overwolf is strictly incompatible with New Vegas.
  • In Vortex go to your "Settings" tab -> Mods -> Deployment Method. Make sure the Deployment Method is set to Hardlink Deployment. If you are not using Hardlink Deployment, then this is a very likely cause for failure to launch, crashes, and countless bugs and errors. Hardlink Deployment is essential.
  • Go to your "Mods" tab. Click "Purge" then "Deploy" on the top toolbar.
  • Go to your "Plugins" tab. Click "Sort Now" on the top toolbar.
