I downloaded a collection off of the Nexus called VeryLastKiss's New Vegas and after a lot of crashes while downloading it I tried launching it through Vortex and Epic Games and it didn't work. I also downloaded a patch for Epic Games but it still just loads for a second with the cool modded loading screen and then just crashes. I have also had this issue with Fallout 4 in the past so it is probably unrelated to the game and more on my management of the mods. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried factory resetting my pc because I assumed it was an issue with my file management and it was really rough so I didn't want to manually reorganize all of it. Now I tested it by having 2 mods and it did not work. I did this on fallout 4 as a broad test because it is on Steam. I am at my wit's end and I don't know what to do

If your Vortex is crashing when downloading the collection, then it is without a doubt related to Vortex or you lacking requirements for Vortex. I say this assuredly.
A collection is nothing more than a selection of mods from the Nexus; nothing more.
You could be either experiencing a Vortex software error, or you could be lacking foundational software requirements such as .net 6.

Yeah I figured it was something to do with vortex because it also doesn't work on fallout 4 I just wasn't 100% sure

Well, was your Vortex crashing during the download/install, or was your game crashing when you were launching it, or both?

It was crashing during both install/download. The game doesn't work when I try starting it from vortex but when I start it from steam it crashes
I think it's something to do with the location of vortex in relation to the games or something

Ok, so if your Vortex was crashing, then you should post the issue in #🟧︱vortex. If your game is crashing, then I would suggest you look at IV) TROUBLESHOOTING -> CRASHES or III) INSTALLATION -> PANIC BUTTON on the main collection page. Though again, if your Vortex is crashing, then you need resolve that first before you should move on to resolving the game.
