#Elden ring 1.12.1 + the dlc

You should be using ModEngine 2 and Smithbox.
And this mod absolutely works, you would just need to remove the slower levelling edit, which is simple to do:
https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/5860
And you can even increase the rune pickup radius even further, which I did.
If you need help let me know. I thought Elden Ring was going to be a nightmare, but it's actually pretty simple.
Can you guide me on exactly what I have to do?
Sorry to sound dumb, I've never modded anything
Oh. 🤣 And Elden Ring is slightly harder than some other games. Yeah I can help you, but I have to work today. I'll be available in about 11 hours if you'll be available then.
Uhm, probably not I would be sleeping, it's gonna be around 4 am that time
Can you just write what I would have to do? Like put to what folders
Or maybe send me a vid?
Yeah, I could try.
So all you would need to do is:
1. Install Elden Ring. (Steam is preferred)
2. Launch the game as completely vanilla.
3. Install the Seamless Co-op mod. (This is not required, but it prevents you from getting banned from the Elden Ring online servers for modding the game. If you were to be banned, then the ban is not at all associated woth your Steam account; the ban is specifically for online play in Elden Ring. Therefore, if you were to be banned, you would only be able to play Elden Ring in Singleplayer. Seamless Co-op comes with a function to forcefully disconnect you from playing online on Elden Ring by launching the game through a different executable).
https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/510
To install the Seamless Co-op mod, you would just do the following:
- MANUALLY Download the mod from the "Download" tab.
- Extract the files. Place the files in your Elden Ring directory (your main game folder). (This is usually in Steam\steamapps\common\ELDENRING\Game).
- Edit "ersc_settings.ini" to your liking if desired. (If you're playing solo then this doesn't matter).
Picking up from the rest of the steps for the instructions I'm providing you:
4. Install Mod Engine 2. This is the program that loads your mods into the game.
https://github.com/soulsmods/ModEngine2/releases
To install Mod Engine 2, you would do the following:
- Download the win64.zip listed under "Assets".
- Extract the files. Mod Engine 2 is an actual standalone program, so you can place it basically anywhere you wish on your PC. You may even place it in Steam\steamapps\common\ELDENRING\Game if you wish, but again, this is a standalone program, so you may install it anywhere.
Picking up from the rest of the steps for the instructions I'm providing you:
5. Install Smithbox.
https://github.com/vawser/Smithbox/releases/tag/1.0.19
To install Smithbox, you would do the following:
- Download the Smithbox_1_0_19_2024_08_22.zip file.
- Extract the files. Smithbox is also an actual standalone program, so you can place it basically anywhere you wish on your PC.
Picking up from the rest of the steps for the instructions I'm providing you:
6. Create an empty folder somewhere, such as on your desktop. Name this anything you want, such as "Disable Rune Loss".
6. Launch Smithbox.exe.
7. Under the "Create Project" tab, type in a "Project Name", such as Disable Rune Loss. For the "Project Directory", select your "Disable Rune Loss" folder. For the "Game Executable". Select the game's .exe. This will most likely be located in Steam\steamapps\common\ELDENRING\Game\eldenring.exe. DO NOT select ersc_luancher.exe. When you're done, click "Create". You have now created your mod with no edits yet.
8. IF for some reason at the very top of your screen you get some sort of message saying something along the lines of "Update your paramaters to version (insert version number here)" Then click that button. If you do not see this warning, then move on.
9. Click the "Param Editor" tab. This is pretty much the ONLY tab you will use for modding the game.
10. Click on Action Button Param -> 1000 Retrieve lost runes.
11. Set the values to something like this: Radius: 100 million, Height: 100 million, Bottom Height Offset: 70 million. These are the parameters which govern the distance you can pick up your rune when you die. We are basically just going to change the range to be utterly ridiculous so you can pick up your runes as soon as you respawn basically anywhere in the game world.
12. Once you're done, you can just click File -> Save All Modified Params. After that, close Smithbox.
13. Create a new folder INSIDE your "Disable Rune Loss" folder you created and saved the project in. Name this new folder "mod". Drag and drop all of the files of your project into this "mod" folder.
14. Copy your "mod" folder and paste it in your "ModEngine 2" folder.
15. Launch Elden Ring using "launchmod_eldenring.bat". You may also right click on this file and create a shortcut, and place the shortcut on your desktop. This is how you will always launch Elden Ring if you are playing with mods.
16. That's it. Gain a few runes during the game somewhere, die, and you should be able to retrieve your runes from essentially anywhere in the entire game.
And just in case you mess up, here is the mod. I created it for you, but I still advise you to try to do it on your own so you learn how:
Thanks a lot @outer rivet
That would need quite a bit of work for someone like me tho ;0
Thanks for the mod file just in case, but as you mentioned it would be better if I try to do it on my own
Will help for downloading future mods
Believe it or not, it only takes a couple of minutes.
