#if anyone knows an elden ring modder who made a performance mod, please tell them to update

might be able to update one yourself with smithbox
possibly, but im really dumb so idk lol
it's easy enough. grab latest smithbox. load up a mod as the project folder, param editor tab -> update params -> save all modified params, and you now have an updated regulation.bin file
this?
to get this mod to work, i just downloaded a regulation.bin and replaced my old one, so in this do i just use that regulation.bin?
(sorry in advance if any of the questions i ask are dumb)
thx
does it matter which one
yeah use that reg.bin. make a backup just in case
kk
I've never used the low requirements one, but it sounds like you might want that version if your specs are low
yeah ill do that
my specs are actually pretty good. (ithink)
until you realize i just dont have a graphics card
lol
for these two i make the first one the reg.bin, and the second my elden ring.exe right?
yeah, the folder with the regulation.bin you want to update, and eldenring.exe
wait the folder with the reg.bin? my regulation.bin is just in my elden ring directory
like with the exe
bad practice, you shouldn't modify any files in your Game folder, only add new ones. modded reg.bin should be in your me2\mod folder
i dont have me2 😬
you patching the game?
elaborate
patching the game is modifying the files in the Game directory (no-no) so don't worry about patching. I'd suggest you install modengine2
when they say "unpack the mod into the folder" do i just put the reg.bin?
also do i leave my currect reg.bin in my elden ring directory untouched even tho ived replaced it?
im way too dumb for this 😭
I would verify game files on steam to get your Game folder files clean again
yeah put the reg.bin in the mod folder
and select that folder as your project folder in smithbox
ok. does the modengine2 folder need to be in my elden ring directory?
nah
right click game in steam -> properties -> installed files -> verify integrity of game files
ok tell me if this looks right, i downloaded the modengin2 zip, unzipped it, made a folder called "performance boost updated" in the "mod" folder, then put my reg.bin in that, then made the exe my eldenring.exe, then went to steam and verified my game files
brb
I would skip the extra folder and just use the mod folder, no need for the performance boost updated one
param editor tab -> update params
i could be blind but i dont see an update params button
oh, put the reg.bin of the mod in your mod folder, not the one from your Game folder
that one is already up to date
close and open
? should i just make a new project and re-select stuff? (when i click ok it opens a file and even if i select eldenring.exe it says its wrong
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
its bc
bassically
when u said delete the file in modengine2 containing the reg.bin
and just put it directly in the mod folder
i did that
then later i went back to the mod file
and saw the reg.bin next to a performance mod update file
and so i thought i hadnt deleted it
but i think smithbox had just made a new one there
smithbox will make a few files/folders in a project directory
eldenring.exe
kk
k now wheres the update button in param editor?
it says its out of date now which is good
top row, should be red
i beleive it has worked as the game now looks like ass (but runs at 60 fps lets go)
tysmmmmmmmmmmm do i just run the launchmod_eldenring.bat every time i wanna play?
brb
yeah
