Can you ensure you're running F4SE through the Dashboard instead?

CTD could be a result of one of many mods though, so if it's not an F4SE related issue, try disable all mods, then if the game works fine, disable mods in groups until the game crashes again, then enable / disable mods until you find it.

it wasnt f4se, it was a mod i believe, it launched after disabling every mod, im going to start reenabling mods in groups like you said to find whats causing the crash

If you get crash logs from the game try find those, too
Sometimes they can suggest the plugin

Vortex does show the plugins I think? But I don't exactly remember how

I believe Buffout 4 creates crash logs

Then it should be in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\F4SE

currently reenabling mods and no issues so far

@worn sinew i believe i found what was causing the crashes, i disabled mcm booster and mcm settings manager and the game opened after those 2 were disabled

unsure as to why this is causing crashes but i can go without this mod, its not required or anything
