Okay, here is my guess on how the last quarter of Riptide is going to go.
Level 14-15: Hole in the sea and Jay saving Lizzie from the navy
Level 15-16: Grizz that The Doctor would return around level 15, so I'm just reiterating that.
Level 16-17: Horsea, maybe space????
Level 17-18: Possibly going to hell to save Filipe.
Level 18-19: Wrapping some stuff up. Possibly Captain Price.
Level 19-20: Final showdown at the World Tree, Niklaus shows up, calls himself daddy and enacts his evil plan.

Imagine if the elders did a complete 180 when/if Gillion confronts them in the undersea
The abuse was to make him as powerful as possible, and to make him desperate for their praise, and then he finally gets it when they return, as a way to encourage him to help them with the AL
But, Gillion's developed since then and essentially regarding certain.... news.... that it has the OPPOSITE effect on him than intended
I bet that if/when they head to the Undersea, Gillion will probably revert slowly back into how he used to be (the 'warrior of fate' persona) and then completely turn back into his better self the second they actually meet the Elders
