i have no clue why people keep making the same comments all the time. i feel like they actually don't try to make any of the ma faces work and just leave it as it is then call it ugly

i spent more hours in the martial artist section then any other class, and they do look like some bug-eyed, bum lip freaks in the beginning but it all works out once you actually do something to the face

spent a few hours poring through hundreds of mage pics and presets for inspiration for an arcana, and boy does every mage look like recolors of the same character

there's an assassin face with a hooked nose that looks romani, i was hoping for something similar for maybe an older mystic type with eastern european features

maybe a strong spanish bruja inspiration, or even go full brazilian and make her rivani a'la dragon age

The only mage preset that has a bit rougher shapes than most that I find is well suited for older looking chars is what people call the 'ogre face', takes a bit of work to get a decent result.
This is a good example of what can be achieved : #presets message

Skin color / freckles or not/hairstyle can give you vastly different vibes as usual.

it's probably because the skins can be used for any advanced class of the same gender and the price would be unfair if you had only one class who could even use it

for example, you buy a female MA umar skin and sell it, you have potential buyers from three classes who can use it. a striker does the same and they can only sell to other strikers

Hawke is canonically a mage, and the weapon he uses in that video is not a glaive, which would have a single edge on the blade and be more suited for slashing attacks.

The blade on the staff Hawke uses has two edges and is shaped more like a short sword or dagger, more suited for cut and thrust attacks. Since that specific staff is a magical staff that has been in Hawke's family for generations, I think the two protruding shapes on either side of the blade are worn down protrusions that a partisan has, a close-combat polearm with two points near the bottom of the blade that are used for blocking and parrying.

It makes a lot of sense, though, since there are two types of polearms: close-combat weapons and what I'll refer to as reach weapons, which would be unsuitable for that type of hand combat. Now although Hawke didn't do anything in that trailer that a Blood Mage isn't capable of, Reavers have abilities that use blood magic, and I don't think it would be that much of a stretch to make him a Berserker, especially with how limited your class options are.

Yes, canonically he's a blood mage who uses that catalyst. The weapon has a double-edge blade on top of a staff. In my language it is "falcione ad asta" or "partigiana" (the former has only one sharp edge) but it's definetely a partisan

yeah it looks just like a toy i bought for my cat. it's hard to place it in a way that you can hide the pole because there are few angles you can rotate it where people can actually see the lights. placing it behind something where nobody can see the pole, that means you can't move close enough to the pole for the camera to show the lights with the normal zoom

that's is with serenade of courage, 6 stacks of adrenaline, and 5 stacks of harsh oath (without the preordained set bonus active); otherwise, that doesn't include buffs from heavenly tune, note brand, oratorio, battle items, or runes

it's for solo content, so to answer your questions:

1. chaos dungeons are a breeze, i cleared thronespire floor 18 (at item level 1424), very tanky without shields, guardian tune, damage reduction skills, etc. meter generation is very slow, although i can sometimes get a full three bars' worth of meter from a fat Prelude of Death

stiill working on getting Grudge 3 and/or Contender 3. Preemptive Strike is a possibility, but the build would be pretty limited (prelude of storm with lightning concentration, heavenly tune with tune for me, and note bundle with repeat sign and ruthless release)

still tweaking build to shore up lack of meter generation and cooldown reduction, but with gold judgement/epic Conviction, quick recharge, cdr gems, wealth runes, etc, it's not terribly slow. separate accessories are a must, as is a dps card set, and i highly recommend a set of damage gems and tripod loadout. if you have more card xp but are on a budget, you may find awakening field boss 2 to 18 for 2% crit is a nice buff for a set you can use for any other content, not too expensive since it's all blue cards, and the set is pretty easy to collect

2. i've partied a few times with friends that also play bard because we wanted to play together anyways and it's always gone very smoothly. for those, i usually equip the Tune for Me tripod on Heavenly Tune to grant 31% atk speed instead of the AP buff so my buff stacks with one of the other bards's.

heyy ☺️ There's a lot to it honestly, been thinking about writing up a comprehensive guide to amazing screens in LA, because you're not the first to ask 😄
I figured it all out via experimentation and it took me a while to get to where I am at (I am still trying to improve them at all times)

The short version is play in 4k, max settings, no bloom, colour correction via Geforce Filters to get rid of the yellow hue the game has, sharpening also via Geforce Filters to get rid of the blurriness the game has.
I could go into detail about specific lighting scenarios, image composition and all that jazz, because I think even low quality pictures can look high quality with that knowledge, but that's a bit much and I think I am overwhelming most people with that 😂

That being said, I don't edit my pictures in any way except for cropping and sometimes tilting , to make said composition work. But no after the fact filters or sharpening or whatnot. My screenshots are what my game looks like.

Also I might be taking screenshots a bit (a lot) too serious, but it's what I love to do. Taking nice pictures irl and in video games. I have a BA degree in filmmaking/cinematography, I feel like that is a cheat code to tryhard screenshots

Anyway, sorry for the extensive, yet way too short, answer. If anyone would actually be interested in a screenshot guide let me know and I might just make one, no promises though

One thing I forgot to mention explicitly in the guide is how colour correction works and now I am too tired to edit the file.

Short answer: You always want to colour correct to get a pure white. Pick a part of your image (or in this case game) that is a pure white (or supposed to be a pure white). Now take a closer look. Is it truly white? Or does it have a hue? Depending on that you colour correct your image. In the guide you can clearly see that the image with no colour correction has a yellow tint. So what I did was apply a blue colour filter. Just the tiniest bit of colour to make the white a true white. And that's it
