I would say from my observations:

• Everyone has a preferred DPS Cycle they would like to execute
• Everyone has a DPS Cycle with fillers, etc, that happens when boss phases too slowly
• GS especially have too shitty of skills like Pre-Disrespect Perfect Shot that has to go into the rotation no matter, AND there is an absolute downtime period after 2-3 full DPS Cycles that you cannot avoid

If Scenario A occurs against FOTM classes performing the same, then you will get gapped. If Scenario B happens where it is favorable, that is where GS can pull ahead. If Scenario C happens, you just sit there while people do more
