there are actually many reasons why i prefer these types of skins for the ark pass over something flashier

1. aesthetically neutral, dyeable, class-agnostic (although gender-locked), and two versions all are the actual selling points of these skins. most of what i've heard from people is they are plain or boring, which is understandable if you just wear the skin and call it a day.

but that's like playing skyrim right out of the box after a decade and not installing mods. it gives you something that you can mix and match with any other skins, especially ones that are more extravagant or hard to match with other skins.

and if you consider the range of available skins we have so far, the dyable ones are some of the weaker options when it comes to creating a more custom look that is more ubiquitous. alar is class-specific, summer skins are revealing, magick academy are modern, wingsuit is futuristic, shadow of stern is fantasy-modern jersey shore, and both ark pass skins have been more flexible. you get an option to be more modest or more revealing, slightly more modern or more fantasy, etc
