strictly speaking you get a new set of T2 gear that you transfer your T1 gear into, but it's not wasting materials since you have to get your T1 gear to +15 anyway

basically the base rate of great success is somewhere around ~5% so when you do +9% it doesn't become 14%, it becomes 5*1.09 = 5.45% chance

Not sure if 396 is T1 yet, but if you want to speedrun to T3, but once you can hone you can watch a T1 island guide and do all the islands which will give you upgrade materials. Once you hit ilvl 600 you continue with the story (try buying some t2 gear straight away, it will make your life easier). Then you do the Tier 2 islands for materials and then you’ll be tier 3 and just have fun 🙂 feel free to look up guides and stuff if anything I’ve said is not 100% clear.

Like others said, don't choose class based on current balance, cuz strength varies based on gear level and changes regularly with balance updates.
I'd recommend watching videos showing off their skills and playstyles. That stuff is unlikely to change over time so picking one that suits you will likely make you happier in the long run.

The only class I've seen get picked for PUGs slightly more than other DPS is Gunlancer, I assume due in part to his slightly supportive abilities ^^

Having them stay at 1370 isn’t a bad idea, but eventually you’re gonna have enough bound mats to push them all by themselves excluding raw gold. Artist is pretty much confirmed to be the very last class we’re gonna get.

Defense reduction and heavy armor is currently bugged, and has been since the game started. It completely nullifies the reduction so you can freely take level 3 defense reduction if you have heavy armor.

I use this one. Set my engravings. Put stone+imprints then I usually start with the worst pieces e.g. the last one I fixed was my blue Gunlancer that needed a +5 class engraving +garbage with spec so cheapest option was 20k and then I build around that. Neck you usually want to keep on the lighter side ideally only a +5 and correct stats or correct stats +3/+3

Knowledge transfer question. I used it on a GS. Level 302 right away. Now it seems i have to hone my way up to 460 - which is fine, i understand this is not meant to be as seamless as a powerpass. My question is, what is the purpose of knowledge transferring after the initial transfer? Is it simply to skip the campaigns? Because the iLvl campaigns are not long compared to the initial story, hardly seems worth 1k gold or more. Jw what you all have done to speed multiple characters up to T2 & T3
