I used to have the Steam UI disabled too, and it'd give me nothing. You have to go to your Steam settings, enable Steam UI (default key: Shift + Tab) and then restart the game. Then you should be fine

Hm, it might just be a connection issue or something from their end(?). I'd throw in a support ticket in the meantime, and maybe restart PC/disable any thing that might interfere with connection (VPN, ping-related software, etc.)... It could be Steam-related. Maybe restart Steam? I used to only have that issue back when I disabled Steam Overlay. It could also be a West-coast server related issue.

i think "penalties" refers to restrictions on joining another guild after leaving one, ie when you leave a guild there is a cooldown before you can join a new one and this increases each time you leave. i wasnt aware of penalties incurred by guildmasters for banishing tho

There's buffs you can unlock for your entire roster. You can also unlock training camp which is a good way to level up your alts. There's also knowledge transfers which allows you to skip quests you would be forced to do without it (or powerpass). There's a list of effects.

• you can set the Item Quality, so that it saves anything above X quality.
• You can exclude gear with favorite engravings, and go to your engraving menu and favorite all the ones youy want to keep
