Gold income is not staying the same. You'll reach new Unas milestone for more badges and Valtan increases your weekly gold gain. Gold always just keeps going up. If everyone gets more gold everything just gets more expensive especially Blue Crystals and they don't want things to turn into KR economy where 95 Blue Crystals cost 2500g+

Yeah but it's been at over 3k too because gold inflation. That is why they've introduced gold sinks and nerfed gold income multiple times. E.g. Pheons is a gold sink to reduce gold inflation. That currency makes no sense in our region especially for new players but it will make sense once we start reaching much higher gold incomes.

Yes. But higher price in Blue Crystals makes selling Royal Crystals more attractive since the prices are interlinked. So if you'd get large amounts of gold from selling Royal the players that actually use this function would sell more and then the supply would increase and prices would go down

6 character gold limit was also introduced to combat gold inflation because in KR there were people that had x18 characters doing P1 Argos every week.

Nah. The prices of everything in AH is reflected by it. Why engraving books and half-good accessories aren't worth jack shit which is both good and bad. The biggest point is to keep prices of Blue Crystals down. Just imagine you are a new player jumping into this game and you need Blue Crystals even just now on EUC it's 700g for 95 and you might just have entered T3. That 700g is huge so it's good that everything on AH is cheap.

I've been doing fishing just because it's the most straight forward for me (stand in one spot lol). Wasn't sure if excavating was more efficient since you only need 8/26/64 instead of 10/40/80 in terms of materials

I've only done those 2 but I don't think fishing is particularly bad and again, my fishing rod(s) sucked so I was always strapped for white mats. I definitely recommend trying to get a good blue/purple with lots of basic reward for fishing if you want to continue doing that. You can have x2 tools and swap between them one for regular fishing and then 1 with mini-game bonuses.
