he only does the slam as a follow up from spin attack if the spin attacks hit someone if everyone gets out before the spin then there wont be a slam, you can see how he beat his chest (diff. from about to do counter) usually follows by slaming his axe 4 time then spin -- if someone gets caught and took damage have your support ult for shield or just use time stop potion right before hes about to finish spinning

You genuinely don't need to be hard pushing to get Grudge and Cursed Doll active at lvl 3 atm. Its not particularly necessary, and they tend to be engravings people max out as their like 4th or 5th engravings

Personally my experince with alts and having to do their chaos dungeon, guardian raids, una tasks, with 2 hour stories add and take up 6 hours alone, then with my main having to do all of that and the daily islands + world events

i don't know the answer to your question, but I would advise against just grinding without doing the story, since you can't access the proper levels of chaos dungeons. you'll be stuck on the ilvl 420 one until you finish the rohendel questline
