It is used for card enhancement, it gives card exp. You should right click the card and store its exp in the card enhancing area. Alt+C, 3rd tab, on the top right area, you can see the total exp value you have so far.

you hit T3 when you get 1302 gear (replace your +15 T2 gear.) You should always gear transfer when you move up a tier. It gives you an almost free +1 on all your gear.

Once you hit level 52 on main, you have training grounds, which doesn't cost gold, but takes 3-4 days
