RNG = Random Number Generation. It's basically the way computers handle randomness, both in games and in everything else. So for example, when an item has a drop chance of 1%, that means the drop depends on RNG.

Tier 2 is the one requiring the biggest amount of mats. Actually, tier 3 is very "smooth", and you don't need to push it since there is no real interest in going higher than 1340 atm. I'd recommend using it for T2.

I just did it on some alts. The full gate of paradise thing (3 donjons then) gives you around 450 destruction, 1200 guardian & 45 leapstones. Depending if you take the chests or not I guess.
But most of all it gives you a chance t oget legendary cards, which is a hard need for late game
