Not like BDO, no. The only thing similar in this game in BDO is the weapon and armor stone stuff needed for enhancing but even then its only barely similar that way.

You get sets from things like Abyssal Dungeons which have set effects, these can help boost your character but the main points of progression that provide the most strength in this game are Engravings, Skill Points, Runes and Tripod effects on gear.

Gear in this game doesn't work like that. The weapon you get from Chaos Dungeons for instance is just what you use until you start replacing your gear with the Purple Abyssal set and then you just use the one from the Legendary Abyssal set. There is no "kzarka" or "offin" equivalent stuff in this game, except for maybe Esther weapons but those are not in our version yet and function under an entirely different system.

Yes it all opens up at level 50, you start doing Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids and Abyssals all at the specified ilvls and work on upgrading your gear with materials. Actually you should try to work on getting to T3 as it offers you the ability to get upgrades at your Stronghold that increase the success chance of upgrades in the preceding Tier of content as well as an upgrade that reduces the amount of materials required to hone/upgrade.
