It entirely depends on what you want to get. You can look through each rapport person and view what they give as rewards. My advice would be to either start off with the ones that give potions that increase your stats so you may talk to higher requirements ones later or the ones for gold/giants hearts/masterpieces/island tokens.

Yeah, not just any books either. Class engraving books which are basically the beginnings to any build you'll start on a character. If you don't plan to play an alt and only use it to funnel mats, don't worry about it. If you plan to play an alt to end game it will hurt.

Nah don't quit, the 'early game' of end game it's actually more important to start working on collectables anyways. You're going to need those extra stats and skill points and cards after a certain point, especially once we get T4 5 and 6. Is there a 6? Swear I saw a 6. Start grabbing mokoko seeds, make sure you're burning your life skill bar to 0 (or as much as you can, never let it sit at cap), by time you get a good amount of collection stuff done you'll have done plenty enough dailies to get to t3. Also realize, the boost from iL 600 is huge. You go straight to 802.

The RNG is really unforgiving, some people in my guild are already 1k+ iL and I'm still stuck at 590.

You’re missing a lot of free honing materials. You can exchange pirate coins with a vendor every week for thousands of honing materials, the guild shop also gives a lot and you get thousands from the chaos vender as well
