I wouldnt say that, main starts are kinda the same no matter what drops, the secondary stats can be different, atleast the ones on your accesories. So its a matter of picking the stats that are good for your class

Why delete? You could still keep the character and use it as an alt to funnel upgrade materials to your main. Mounts and pets are bound to your roster so you'll be able to access them regardless of which character you use.

I can't choose between gunlancer and paladin for the first class to play. Open to other class suggestions though, I just thought those two fit the most but I'm not sure.
I plan to rush and level up as fast as possible, and I'm looking for a durable character (I want to avoid dying as much as possible) that can play solo (I won't play with other people with this character so I don't care for support benefits, and I won't be doing pvp either). I don't mind a learning curve. I don't care for flashiness/attractiveness, and I don't mind skill cooldowns either, as long as it's not squishy.
