Just the overall dps because I'm a huge fan of both, martial arts or rogue classes and tbh the blader didn't feel very fun during the last beta, but that's probably something that Changes down the line I didn't get past maybe lvl 15 on her

Yeah lvl 15 is not a very clear picture of any class.

If you're this fresh to the game I'd suggest taking your time when the game launches to try them both out. At level 30 you will get a quest that you complete which gives you access to a much more involved training room, if you do that on both Soulfist and Blade you can get a better feel for each of them and make your choice then.

As for their overall dps they are both fine. No class is excluded from content, everything is taken so just play whichever class you feel clicks with you best.

It isn't worse than Gunslinger, its just harder to execute than Gunslinger is. Thats all it is. Its just a variance in difficulty, not effectiveness. Just like in Monster Hunter, its easier to do well with HBG than it is with Charge Blade.

Question, I'm a bit fuzzy on engraving books still. Am I correct in that they come in rarities? i.e. green, blue, etc? If so, how does this work exactly?

Each Rarity adds another "level" to it that you can apply in your engraving slot.

So Green books unlock the first one, which is a +3 for that Engraving. Blue books add another which makes that +6. This goes all the way to +12 when you finally use 20 of the Legendary Engraving books.

Each Engraving only activates its effects every 5 points to a total of 15 which would activate the Level 3 Engraving effect.

The Ascent Chests are just chests you get at those level intervals that give you some HP pots and some silver. Silver is very easy to come by, its just they make things like fast travel cost a non existent concern not that its much of a concern to begin with.

Its difficult to recommend a class to someone because it pretty much entirely depends on them, not what other people think. For instance a lot of people love Infighter, others find it boring. Many love Bard while many don't want to play a Support class.

guns is ranged, so a little safer to position, and since her kit is changing between weapons you will have tons of skills and rotations to care. Her dps is really high right now.

Blade is a positional melee class, but she has enough mobility to keep with it. She too deals nice dps if you can keep positionals. Gauge system and her charged abilities will feel cluncky early on, gets a lot better later

Both are kinda squish not the squishiest, but something to keep an eye on.

Boss fights are heavy, heavy on the mechanics. There is no aggro mechanic because the focus is on these mechanics and doing them. There are also no healers either. the support classes (Bard and Paladin) don't heal, they provide offensive buffs to boost party damage and only provide limited shields that mitigate damage for brief periods of time

You don't really need to worry about back attacks in solo content, it more comes into play with the group content, where boss have patterns and you can position yourself correctly

Alts on the same region but different servers do not benefit from any account wide systems (skill points, cards, etc.)

it takes months to reach 60 anyway

while lvl 50 can be done in a day

From 50 to 60 which is the hardcap takes months or even more than months of playing ti reach

you'll naturally get there just by playing endgame, no need to worry about it

maybe there's a table on the KR fansite, too lazy to search it's fucktons pretty much

like goes from like maybe 8mil exp

to like 40mil etc., and you earn maybe about 300k or so per day from doing daily endgames.
