that was always the best strategy if you could spared the 600g. we were just not sure if it is in the game from launch. obviously there is a huge opportunity cost to stop playing your main and leveling and alt so its much better to not manually level it and keep playing your main. all depends if you have 600g by 50 which is unlikely before you hit couple islands etc

so you should always prioritize your main thats like the first rule. so whats the deal with alts? since everything in LOA is daily or weekly gated you can only progress this much. There are some one time rewards and you would want to all funnel them in your main (see 1st rule).

So once you did all your one time rewards, and all your daily stuff what else is there to do? nothing. Thats when alts come into play. they have their own dailies and weeklies and often rewards are not bound to the character so you can funnel them in your main.

Having an alt is up to you, since it consumes a lot of time to make one and time to do the dailies/weekly with more than one character

When you make an alt is up to you, efficiency wise you want to build your alt as you get gated into something daily. The knowledge system helps too (boost of a second character)

Having alts do not hurt, but dont look them as a job you have to keep up everyday, it will take you out from enjoying the game

Alts can be really expensive too, and take time to payback. So your main is the most important asset

what you need to understand that alts have an opportunity cost, before they generate value for your main you first need to invest into them

thats where it becomes a bit of work and you kinda turn this into a weird grind. If you ask this question you should first and foremost only play an alt if you 1) have time to spare in a day 2) like the class you want to play as an alt 3) are ready to invest some of your wealth into that alt or maybe even have another alt that boots the first one. thats also why ppl park alts at certain points in the game like t1 to do dailies for reputation and funnel mats into another alt that can progress to t2 and so on

If you are a completionist there are tons of 1 time things to do, but dailies and weeklies gives you lots of rewards.

If you have time after doing your main dailies and weeklies you can plan to start an alt. You will notice that you became gated by some daily thing naturally as you play the game

all this 2-3 alts asap stuff was really good with only t1 but please dont forget your main is your top priority and it will take a couple weeks to get that to t3 so you shouldnt delay progress on your main if you dont have a good plan for your alts. Sure you will miss a couple days of t1 mats and una's reputation but if you have no idea what you do with the t1 mats you just grinded instead of pushing your main to t2 thats kinda a bad deal.

Island PvP is a meme, GvG is also extremely niche and also fairly negligible. GvG is also not just PvP, its also GvE stuff as is being explained in the other channel.

As for how essential alts are, Arena PvP is equalized so you won't be gearing for that anyway. If you're looking for an actual competitive environment that is where you will get it, and crystalline aura isn't even really noticeable. It provides a few QoL things that aren't that significant.

Max level is 60, but this is not something you actively chase or aim for. Leveling beyond 50 is just accidental, its passive. Do not chase this. This is not that kind of game.

For some more context on that, going from 49 to 50 is like 1.3 million exp. Going from 50 to 51 is like 43 million exp.

So if you can get your main to 340ilvl, do both abyss dungeons that 160g, do adventure island that's 220g, (380g), there is 7 guide quests for guardians up to lumerus, 50g, 10g, 10g, 10g, 10g, 50g and 25g so that 545g, and during the lvling process there is a few yellow and purple quests that will give gold I don't know which ones so I can't tell you them exactly, but you should get atleast 600g if you can get to 340ilvl and do everything above

Yes. Those things will be placed in your product inventory which is accessible on any character. Once you claim it on a character though its going to be set for that character's class.

No...that isn't a thing. The most you can do with money, and this is a thing in other regions even KR, is buy extra upgrade materials for upgrading gear but its a limited amount.

Yes, at the end of Shushire you get a set of 302 ilvl gear. Its suggested to do that if you have at least like 5 or so hours before the very first daily reset but this was suggested under the impression of getting T1 at launch. Like I said above, with T3 being in at launch that is mostly irrelevant.

If you run the suggested 2 to 3 alts really only like 2 hours maybe less.

Chaos Dungeons, per character, will take like 10 to 15 minutes.
Guardian Raids, per character, will take like 15 to 20 minutes. Possibly less.
Daily Una's Tasks, per character, will take another 10-15 minutes maybe.

Weekly stuff like Abyssal Dungeons and the Weekly Una's Tasks may only add like another 10 or so minutes to whichever day you do them on.

Also don't forget that you can miss some days, you get a rest bonus for things like Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids and Una's Tasks. I believe 1 missed day is equal to half of the rewards, so if you skip it for 2 days then when you do it its equal to 1 day of missed rewards.

After that you are free to do things like Islands, collectibles, PvP, Adventure Tome, Tower, Cube, life skills, whatever.

Una daillies on the other hand are often just busywork(and while you can do the fast ones, you'll want to do other ones early on to progress reps)

I'm looking at coop quests (I'm guessing open world bosses or something) and it says that rewards are determined based on contribution. What counts as contribution, is it damage only, or if you have support classes shielding/buffing/healing does that count?

As I stated before on a single character going through T1 and T2 isn't going to be that difficult, so you won't have any issues there.

However as has been repeatedly stated progress is slower to try and do without alts at the point of T3. I understand your concern is daily "chore" stuff, which is a valid concern, but I'm curious if you've ever played an MMORPG where you haven't needed to do such things in order to participate in the hardest PvE content. Thats the case in WoW, even FFXIV to get to the proper item levels for things.

PvP is equalized, Arena PvP specifically, so there isn't a concern over gear here but even the very hardest stuff, like Hell Mode for Legion Raids, is still ilvl gated.

The biggest thing is that the daily stuff you would be doing on alts isn't anything you wouldn't be doing with a single character on any other MMORPG. Its Dungeons, its Raids, its not like tertiary side stuff like Torghast is in WoW or like monotonous world quests like in WoW either that would be pulling you away from normal gameplay stuff. I think the only thing that would qualify under those is Daily Una's Tasks but you can purchase instant complete tickets for those with blue crystals (which you can get from converting gold).

also you can freely not accept the changes, and return back to the screen as many times as you want

I was thinking about maining Bard but I know they're a bit slower to do the story with as a support class. Would I be better off starting as my first alt dps class and then using Knowledge Share to boost the bard through the story instead?

Is it realistic to think I could get the bard boosted on day 2 if I rush main story lvl 50 on day 1?
